Daniel Chase13 said:wearyowl29... wait, I mean, Elvis, you really have spent years perfecting the art of playing your opponent's part. 👍
I mean, man, you don't have any trouble stepping into the shoes of a dog just to bark a message at its owners, then switching to play an atheist, then playing your opponent, and still doing it all on a public stage...
Honestly, you could probably land a decent acting gig if you ever decided to try.👍

It’s honestly a bit twisted, Elvis, finding such joy in your own misery.
Seriously, go see a doctor ASAP!
bluemason3 said:Not quite. That sounds like one of those skewed, forced interpretations you see floating around New Age circles.

1 - We aren't talking about reincarnation here, but rather the preexistence of the soul (I assume you're referring to the views held by Origen and his supporters which were rejected at the council; people often mistakenly lump this up with New Age reincarnation, which is just wrong))

2 - Christians weren't a monolith believing this before then. You had certain Christian authors holding that position (a view that existed in the Greek world long before Christianity), while others denied it entirely. The council eventually ruled that the latter group was right. It wasn't some universally accepted Christian doctrine leading up to the council.

Beyond that, Protestants—depending on the denomination—don't necessarily accept the authority of that council (acceptance varies among the various pre-schismatic groups), so there's no rule saying Pat has to buy into it either. I don't know the Protestant world intimately, but my sense is that Baptists and similar strict Sola Scriptura types stick to the Jerusalem standard (or at least align with it informally, though I'm not sure how formal that alignment actually is)) and tend to view later councils as being too influenced by politics.

👍

Anyway, they changed their minds a bit, and now instead of souls pre-existing, they just exist eternally in Heaven.
Zachary Cox69 said:There’s no such thing as reincarnation. You’re a human once, and that’s it. Those who accepted Christ as their Savior go straight to God. Everyone else—if they heard that Jesus wanted to save them and turned Him down during their lifetime—goes straight to Hell. As for those who never even heard a word about Jesus Savior, they enter a sort of waiting state. There, Jesus reveals Himself to them just like He does to us here. They get the same choice to accept or reject Him—just like we do while we're alive hearing about the Messiah. Maybe there isn't much theological backing for that, but it's just how I see it.

Wow... you were all believing that right up until the Second Council in Constantinople back in 553.
Then, suddenly, everyone changed their minds...

So, if a Christian dies and makes it to Heaven—provided they had a last-second conversion—they just spend eternity playing the harp and staring at Jesus while He leads the angelic choir. Sounds lovely, doesn't it?

Maybe spend a little more time practicing your musical notes and a little less time studying the Bible.

Daniel Chase13 said:Nemrut... wait, Duspara, you're actually doing a pretty decent job playing both the atheist and the atheist woman.

Just like how you really leaned into that role of the dog—trying to "artistically" teach owners how to better understand them—you're now fully immersed in this atheist persona. Or rather, personas.

You're getting better at this acting thing every day. And man, you're persistent—I'll give you that. You've been at this for years. 👍

The truth is, Elvis, this sickness persists for years—it’s sad, but it's the reality of the situation...

Daniel Chase13 said:So, where you at, Nemrspara... wait, I mean, Elvis Presley!
Seriously though, how much of this "atheist" persona are you actually playing on this forum?
It reminds me of that time someone got so into playing a dog that they started writing essays just so their owners could "better understand" them.
Man, you really are quite the actor. You certainly have a knack for getting lost in different roles. 👍

If I were a kid, maybe I'd buy it, but I'm not.
I'm not an atheist, because I'm simply not,
and I'm certainly not Elvis Presley, since I don't go around bragging about my own accomplishments.

Lučpar, you aren't gaining much by trying to play the missionary!
Carpe diem.

What about those who just see his existence as a way to serve their own interests?

There are definitely people like that—especially lately among some Protestant pastors, specifically those TV evangelists. They’ve never truly experienced God from within, and they never will. For them, Jesus said: "Depart from me, you cursed, into the fiery furnace prepared for the devil and his angels."
You make a good point—we believe, but that freedom of choice feels pretty narrow. It’s like the kids being baptized, where they're basically forced into these family ties with various gods.

The early Christians didn't baptize infants—in fact, most Protestants don't even practice baptism today. Even Catholics and Orthodox Christians who do perform it emphasize that it isn't about salvation itself, but rather raising children in the faith and teaching them about God. Unfortunately, most people miss that part. Take the Baptists, for example—they bring a child in, the pastor holds them, and the whole church offers a blessing. But the actual baptism happens when they grow up, and only if they want it for themselves.

Mark 16:15-20
The Word of the Lord

At that time, Jesus appeared to the eleven and said: "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.""

See, first there has to be belief (if they choose to), and then comes the baptism.
And at the end of the day, it doesn't say those who aren't baptized will be judged—it says those who don't believe that Jesus is Jesus Messiah will be.
Do you see yourself in that?

Nope.

It honestly baffles me that some people actually own these things—and they're even sending out missionaries using the wrong PDF!
lonestag15 said:Look, nobody’s forcing you to baptize a kid; it’s a decision made within the family unit... for instance, I wasn't even baptized at all. When it came time for First Communion, I actually liked the whole vibe and decided (as smart/dumb as I was back then) that I wanted both my baptism and my First Communion. So, my parents played it totally fair... other parents can just leave that choice up to their kids (like, my sister chose ethics class whenever she had the chance, while I stuck with religion)... honestly, it's all a family matter.

And if someone is already baptized but doesn't want anything to do with the church anymore, they can officially opt out... literally get a paper stating they aren't considered part of that community anymore.

Well, in my case, they baptized me and didn't ask me a single question!

It's actually pretty tough to "un-baptize" yourself because the organization doesn't want to rock the boat. They love keeping those numbers high for their statistics, even though in reality, they're smaller than they look since for most people, it's just cultural folklore and tradition rather than an actual way of life.

Charles Gonzalez19 said:Dude, Elvis Presley posted that video over a year ago. Are you really still recycling the same old links?

You’re acting just like the President, her kids, and the whole situation in Warsaw...🙏

Well, Lučpar actually posted it ages ago, it just finally clicked for him today!🤣
Zachary Cox69 said:Look, we all believe in free will. Even God respects that freedom—He doesn't force us to believe in Him.

“Only those who find it in their interest that God does not exist fail to believe.”
(Francis Bacon)

But what about the folks who find their own interests in His existence?

You hit the nail on the head when you said "we believe," but honestly, that freedom of choice feels pretty small and narrow to me. It reminds me of how kids are baptized—they're basically being funneled into these rigid, familial roles within the divine structure before they can even think for themselves.
Zachary Cox69 said:His final words: "I commit my soul into the hands of God, my Creator, with absolute faith in Jesus Christ, my Savior."
(William Shakespeare 1564 - 1616)
"A belief in God is hardwired into the hearts of all people. Those who claim they don't believe in His existence are lying—because even they find themselves questioning everything when they're alone in the dark at night."
(Seneca, Roman poet, philosopher, and statesman, 4 BC - 65 AD)

A little bit of philosophy might nudge someone toward atheism—but dive deep enough into philosophy, and it usually brings a person right back to religion."
(Francis Bacon, the father of scientific methodology, philosopher, and statesman)

Spirituality is something naturally implanted within you, whereas organized religion is mostly just a shortcut for people who don't want to do the heavy lifting of thinking for themselves when they're alone with their thoughts.

Seneca didn't live in a world of monotheism, and Bacon wouldn't have fully grasped the modern concept of individual freedom to choose—or reject—one's own faith.
A person can't just figure out God on their own when He transcends everything we know; God has to choose to reveal Himself to us.

Oops, looks like you just described the exact moment organized religion starts trying to gatekeep those revelations!
God only reveals Himself that way...🙏

And honestly, who cares if people start worshipping all sorts of different gods while there's really only one Satan? It doesn't change the core issue.
Zachary Cox69 said:But why can't you be spiritual while also dealing with life's practical issues?
To you, spirituality seems like a way to run away from reality. I know people who have lived relatively easy lives and stayed faithful, and others who were hit with massive hardships that drove them straight toward God.
Some believers were thrown into concentration camps and came out atheists—thinking that if God truly existed, He never would have allowed such horrors.
On the flip side, some non-believers went through those same camps and emerged with a profound, unshakable faith.
So, maybe don't be so quick to judge.

Well, that’s exactly what certain religions try to do all the time.
The struggle is that they try so hard to be "spiritual," yet they end up getting completely tangled up in secular affairs.

Eventually, they just drift into this weird middle ground where they become their own sole reason for existing..

Daniel Chase13 said:But let's be real, they've been booking Presley for media appearances since back in 2010 or 2011.
That's definitely stretching that "five-minute" rule a bit thin, don't you think? ☕

Just look at how much those atheist fundamentalists were whining back in early 2011. They were absolutely livid after NBC aired a segment leaning toward creationist and anti-evolution views, largely sparked by Presley's own interviews. 👍

Keep soaking up that glory, Elvis! You've earned it!👍

Daniel Chase13 said:Thanks for catching that.🙂

Yeah, you're absolutely right—the thread about Elvis Presley is definitely sitting right at the top of the subforum. 😁

Man, you really love your own self-promotion, don't you!👍

I find Duspara to be incredibly similar to that guy who used to post here under the handle IL; they shared almost the exact same vibe.

In both cases, you're looking at individuals dealing with some deep-seated issues and a desperate hunger for the spotlight. They'll grab any attention they can get, regardless of whether what they're actually saying makes any sense at all.

Hey, everyone deserves their fifteen minutes of fame, even if it's just people tearing them apart for a laugh...

It’s funny, really—Elvis Presley is so incredibly unremarkable and unworthy of anyone's attention, yet somehow, the topic of Elvis Presley constantly sits right at the top of our forum discussions. Everyone seems to be keeping a close eye on everything he does and says. 😒

Action and reaction.

You can't find any actual substance behind a guy who's just been polished up to look good. There's zero quality in that brain of his; he exists solely to stir up negativity and provoke the public.
