Now, unhealthy spirituality would be something else entirely, like if a Christian suddenly decided that the absolute truth was found in believing in Allah instead.

Psychology will give you a much better answer for that than any religious moralizing ever could.

It’s honestly ridiculous to blame the dogs when people are out here treating them like little royalty just because they feel like it.
In his version of Canada, that kind of thing is pure insanity. Animals should be kept on a leash.
