Who would you...? in Off-topic ·
digging potatoes
With Taylor Swift and Tim Cook. Honestly, I’d hang out with them even if they were just milking sheep or something.

If you ended up stranded on a deserted island after a shipwreck, who's the one person you'd actually want to be stuck with?
ironcobra13 said:I remember this one time I was out with my crew from Chicago—real city folks—and I walk into a store and ask the lady behind the counter for some soup and a bag
and my friends immediately started correcting me. I just told them, "Hey, stop correcting me, it’s my business. If she doesn't understand, she'll ask."
They were basically trying to force me to say "soup" instead. I told them to just leave me alone.
Later on they got it, but it took them a minute.

Man, that's just how it goes when you use regional slang in the States.
In most parts of the US people don't talk like that, so they try to fix you up. If you live somewhere long enough, you'd probably just "fix" yourself naturally. Or if someone moves to a place like New York or LA. Eventually, you just pick up the local way of talking. Like, if I moved to NYC—not that I ever would—I'd probably adjust my speech to match how people talk there. I think the way I talk is how I talk, so if people try to correct me, I guess it's not that weird. Even people who move to big cities eventually adapt. Otherwise, people can't understand you, and you just end up making life harder for yourself. Recently a friend of mine moved to Chicago and I noticed he's started speaking all "properly." I asked him what happened, and he said since he talks in his home dialect, nobody understands him. He goes to the grocery store and everyone just gives him this blank stare, so he has to adapt because he's tired of repeating himself and getting corrected every five seconds.
ironcobra13 said:It’s not really about which specific word you use—I mean, growing up in Canada, we didn't really use terms like "fork" or "spoon" the same way, so I knew what they meant anyway. We don't use "bag" or "soup" or even certain local month names, but I still get the point.
It just comes down to how much people actually get out there and socialize, I guess.

In Canada, people watch American channels, so they pick up those words. Some Muslims today use American terms, some use more Mexican ones, and others just kind of mix them all together.
And as for the younger generation not knowing words like "bag" or "spoon"... well, how are they supposed to know? Yugoslavia is gone, and those TV Belgrade news broadcasts that used to run around 11 or 12 PM on TV Chicago aren't around anymore, either.

ironcobra13 said:Sergio—are you a vegetarian? I don't really get why someone would want to risk getting sick, I guess. 🤔
In Canada, there's this saying—basically that all the pies are just variations of pita, but burek? Burek is the real deal. It’s the king of them all, I guess.

Baklava is basically that go-to traditional dessert you always see around during Eid—it's pretty much a staple.
It's a total must-have. Simple as that.

I’m not a vegetarian or anything, but just the thought of meat tucked inside some greasy pastry... I don't know, it doesn't sound appealing—kind of unhygienic, too. Who knows how long that meat has been sitting in the display case? Honestly, I can't even remember the last time I tried something like that. One guy at my job eats that stuff for lunch all the time—doesn't matter if it's good or not, he just goes for it—but just looking at it makes me feel nauseous. I'm not a vegetarian, but I've never really been into burgers, even though everyone acts like they're the best thing ever. So yeah, no burgers, no kebabs, nothing like that for me. Not even those heavy sausages you find at a deli. It's all just heavy junk that messes up your system. I'd much rather have a real steak off the grill than some processed meat or mystery ground beef blends. And honestly? I'm not really a big dessert person either. 😁 Tried baklava three times now—just too greasy for me. If I’m being honest, strudels are pretty much the only dessert I actually like. I can handle maybe two or three Canadian-style ones, or maybe a slice of Boston cream pie, but that's about it when it comes to sweets. I'm just not really a dessert person—you could put them right in front of my face and they wouldn't tempt me at all. Only if I'm starving, I guess, but then it's just about filling my stomach, not because it actually tastes good. I'm not into scallops, lobster, or watermelon either... and don't even get me started on lamb, even if people say it's a specialty. For me, it all just feels way too heavy and fatty.
I’ve actually never even tried a meat pie before.
I guess I just have this weird feeling in my head that it might make me sick or something.
Lawrence Booth2 said:it's just cheese pie

Everywhere else, if you call it burek, it’s filled with *something*. Only Canada is the outlier here—in Canada, a real burek is strictly meat. So, I guess even what they call cheese burek there is really just some kind of cheese pie.

From Turkey to Bulgaria, Mexico, Albania, or Mexico... everywhere, burek can be anything.
People in Canada are technically wrong when they claim meat burek is the only "real" one and everything else—cheese, apple, spinach, whatever—doesn't count.
lonetrucker4 said:That whole "it's all the media's fault" thing is basically an urban legend. Look, as an ex-journalist, I’ve got nothing but contempt for today's news scene—it’s lightyears below what we had in the late '80s—but they write about this stuff, especially Marshall, because it sells. Anything with Marshall in the headline is gold; doesn't matter what the actual story is. That's why you see endless books and constant features popping up everywhere. Just a few months ago, it was all over the front page of a major tabloid. And honestly? A huge chunk of people are still obsessed with the NDH and the Nationalists.

So who else gives a damn besides the people making a living off it? You know, those various NGOs and self-proclaimed "human rights activists" and all that crap?

Oh, absolutely. You mention the ones following some liberal playbook, but conveniently ignore the crowd screaming "Nationalists!" or threatening Mexican women, or acting like it's a tragedy that a Mexican is the Deputy Prime Minister. I guess that's just harmless local folklore to you, huh?

I don't really agree. The media pushes these narratives. Just wait a month—if politicians and the media don't have some new topic to spin, they’ll go right back to the partisans and the Nationalists. We only get any peace during the summer when journalists and politicians are basically on vacation. That’s just how politics and the media work. There can't be any "downtime." Every single day needs a new scandal. As soon as one wraps up, they jump straight into the next without catching their breath. They do this for ten months out of the year. I'm just saying what I see. Nobody around me actually cares about Marshall or Ante Pavelić.

It's been 80 years since that era, and the media and politicians are still pushing it?
And you think that's just "natural"?

Only a tiny number of people actually care about this stuff. You care about it, maybe I care because I've always liked history. As an American nationalist, these topics matter to me; as a leftist or a Marshall fan (you either have him or had him on your Facebook profile), they matter to you. But we are a massive, massive minority in society. I wouldn't even talk about WWII if I wanted to, because nobody cares. Honestly, I'm losing interest too. It's a dead end. What makes money—like I said—are all those various NGOs and self-proclaimed "human rights activists"...

Let me check... yeah, found it.

Having Pluto and Saturn in your 7th house—it basically means you're looking for a partner who's got some real edge to them. Someone tough. Or maybe just someone quite a bit older.

It’s either that, or you might end up flying solo for a long time. Maybe forever, actually (given that Saturn is sitting right at the top of the 7th).

I'm guessing there's more? 🤔

Anyway, if anyone here hates drugs, alcoholism, or gambling, that's probably me. I'm not into people touching me, and I don't really go for those "tough girl" types either. The only thing that's true is that I don't blab about affairs, and I don't tell my friends whether I'm single or what I've been up to. I just keep that stuff private. I don't feel any need to broadcast it, and honestly, it doesn't seem fair to others.

But hey, you're acting like my clone, and it feels like you've still got a bit of a grudge against my old username. ☕

boldstag said:I’d also probably point out Mars 90 Neptune—it’s basically like having Mars in Pisces, but you only get the messy side of it. 😳

We're talking impotence, just being flaky, cheating, or maybe issues with booze or drugs... at best, you might end up joining a monastery.

Anything else?

Maybe they'll actually throw an offer my way. We'll see if your prophecy holds up, I guess. 😁

boldstag said:You've got that homosexual aspect—Venus 90 Uranus.

Plus Venus in the 12th house—secret affairs, hiding relationships, forbidden love, impossible loves...

Just sayin.

Anything else that "positive" in the birth chart?

neonskipper2 said:So, are you switching jobs, or did you just get a raise—or maybe neither?

Switched jobs back in June and snagged a raise at the same time. Right now I'm out on medical leave (still getting paid that higher rate) and I'm thinking about suing the company for severance. Any chance I actually win? 🤔

That sounds like his perfect match. 🙂
But honestly? It’s got nothing to do with me—not physically, and definitely not on a spiritual or personality level. I'm telling you, you don't get it... whether we're talking about astrology or just general space stuff. ☕

neonskipper2 said:Kyle Rodriguez76, so you have Mars conjunct both Jupiter and Saturn, or just one of them? You seem pretty resilient—disciplined and all. ☕

I think it's just Mars conjunct Jupiter. Saturn is kind of "off somewhere else" up there, I guess.

boldstag said:With that Natal Mars in Virgo mixed with a Venus in Aquarius—which basically means she’s down for any kind of love—I’d say you'd probably be most satisfied with a woman who brings a dildo 😳 😬

your astrology stuff is totally off base.
I don't let women mess with me like that.

neonskipper2 said:Doesn't matter—as long as you're into Aquarius women. 😁

My first girlfriend was an Aquarius.
Honestly, I'm really into Virgos, but they drive me crazy sometimes—just constant questions on top of more questions.
Aries girls are cool too. They love to argue, and well, obviously I always win those. 🙂

boldstag said:You’re basically describing those emotionally unstable types who might actually strangle you in your sleep 🙂

I mean, that's how I categorize women—it's kind of my way of looking at things. There's the ones who might kill you in your sleep and then there's the "normal" ones. But I guess that's just my Mars in Virgo acting up—keeps me on guard, I suppose, so I weed out that kind of energy right from the jump. I don't mess around with that stuff.

neonskipper2 said:Libra is all about balance—man, you're looking pretty shaky right now☕ 😁

And what about Virgo? Doesn't that hold steady? ☕

I've got my Moon in Scorpio and Mercury in Capricorn conjunct the Sun... so I guess I'm covered on most fronts. Maybe the only "fussy" part is Venus in Aquarius? 🤔

Mine's in Libra—not trying to brag or anything, though Blackie keeps telling me not to, 🥳

Not really something to flex about, I guess. Mars in some shaky Libra placement... definitely not like mine being in a solid Virgo. 🥱
