It would be entirely logical for the European Union to consider imposing sanctions on the Russian Orthodox Church, given that it serves as one of Putin's primary instruments for engineering the concept of the "Russian world."

Binance has moved to freeze several accounts tied to the family members of high-ranking White House officials.

The list of frozen assets includes the daughter of Peskov, a pastor connected to Lavrov, and the son of Malofejev.

According to the CIA, Russia accounts for only 0.1% of global chip purchases. Research firm IDC estimates the Russian chip market is worth $50 billion in trade out of a $4.5 trillion global industry.

The sheer disparity between the strength of the United States and that of Russia speaks volumes, does it not? It is quite telling when one side struggles to even maintain its basic fleet of military trucks and standard hardware, let alone possesses the industrial capacity to manufacture anything new while actively engaged in a conflict. Is it any wonder that they recently had to shutter an entire tank factory simply because they couldn't source the necessary Western components?

I’m honestly surprised he only had to deal with a resignation; if this were Russia, he would have gone out a window a long time ago.

What a brilliant little circle of friends we have here.☕

I am just not entirely convinced that Sergey Lavrov and Dmitry Peskov aren't tucked away in the corner enjoying the show.

Everyone is ruled by someone bigger. That's why what we're seeing in Ukraine is actually a war between two major powers fighting over who gets to dominate and control Ukraine. Do you really think our leadership makes independent decisions? Not a chance. They just do whatever they're told from above; they don't have the backbone to think for themselves. No small country actually calls its own shots.

If Ukraine hadn't given up its nukes, they never would have been freed from the Russians. That was the whole point of the deal. Russia allowed Ukraine to enjoy Western comforts in exchange for the nukes. And look what happened once Russia let the West into their politics. The West poked its nose into their business just to stir up a conflict with Russia, and it's the Ukrainians who are paying the price.

Ukraine had no reason to fear Russia, unless they turned their backs on them—which is exactly what the pro-American politicians in power did. Ukraine could have maintained the freedom it had until now if politicians with bad intentions hadn't engineered this war. The U.S. is bothered by Russia, and this is just their attempt to get rid of them. I guess Putin was being patient while watching the U.S. provoke this situation in Ukraine. This war could have started much earlier, but Putin didn't want it. Now, though, he felt like he had no choice because the noose was tightening too much.

NATO attacks subtly and murky, much like a virus. But it’s always there, quietly provoking war. Not directly, but through indirect actions.

How much sheer stupidity can be packed into one single, tiny post?

Every nation is sovereign and possesses the right to choose its own path and its own partnerships. We chose NATO and the European Union of our own free will.

Ukraine surrendered its nuclear arsenal specifically in exchange for Russian guarantees regarding its territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The moment Ukraine decided to chart its own political course and pursue an alliance with the European Union, the Russians responded by violating those very guarantees through the occupation of parts of the country.

You can take those pro-Russian, delusional idiots who claim the West pushed Ukraine into a war with Russia and shove their theories anywhere they like.

It is high time we implement even more aggressive sanctions to ensure that Russia is forced toward self-sufficiency as quickly as possible.

Honestly, I bet there are plenty of people on this forum acting as agitators, whether they're pushing political agendas or just looking for a fight. Just look at what Irish MP Clara Daly has been saying. Sanctions aren't going to stop a war; if anything, they just drag it out. All they really do is punish ordinary citizens while the politicians and the elites stay perfectly fine. Those are the first ones to flee when things actually go south in Ukraine. People like you, who constantly back these conflicts, clearly haven't learned a single thing from history, which is why we keep seeing the same mistakes repeated over and over.

Clara Daly is essentially Putin's lapdog, working alongside her colleague Mick Wallace to support or defend every single dictatorial and criminal regime on the planet within the EU parliament.

The Americans are ashamed of them and have publicly disavowed their actions.

Aaron Barrett79 said:France—one of those "strategic allies" leading the post-Brexit EU—just dropped €120 million in weapons for Ukraine. That’s actually less than what Estonia put up. 🙏The UK basically saved its political soul by leaving that limp EU led by France and Germany, and now they’re finally acting like a real power again.

The real losers in this war won't be the Ukrainians—it'll be us and the rest of the EU. People will mourn the dead, cities will get rebuilt, and Eastern Europe is going to come out of this more united, decisive, and heavily armed than ever, without fearing anyone. Meanwhile, the USA and the UK are just reaffirming their status as global superpowers that nobody really questions, while we sit here in the middle dealing with German-French cowardice—wasting resources on debating wine origins and how long vibrator batteries last...

On topic:

I'm keeping an eye on whether any of our Mi-8/17s end up in Ukraine, especially since the transfer to Canada has already started. ☕

Have you not heard our resident all-knowing windbag lately?

A total tragicomedy—if you can even call this a success.

This entire situation is the direct consequence of Putin’s policies and that tired old mantra you all cling to regarding Russia's self-sufficiency. Does anyone honestly believe we can manufacture diapers? Yet, for years, you have stood here portraying Russia as a global superpower simply because they export wheat.🤣

It’s not 100, it’s actually 1,000 drones.
(That's 100 systems with 10 lethal drones each).

The article claims they sent over 10 new Type-600 systems, which totals 100 units according to their own math.

However, if one bothers to look at the facts, 100 older Type-300 systems were dispatched previously, amounting to 1,000 drones total.

Every single system carries 10 drones.

wiredseal7 said:You jumped straight to defending crooks and massive oligarchs like Khodorkovsky or this whole situation.

They got exactly what they asked for. Honestly, if more of them ended up like that—take Abramovich, for example—it would be a win. At least their money doesn't stay sitting in London.

You're also dodging the main point, regardless of the specifics—which is that this guy has plenty of reason to push disinformation about Russia the second he gets a chance. Just like Khodorkovsky does because of his grudge against his own homeland.

So I'm just lying and pushing propaganda? That guy is a joke too, much like any site that actually gives him a platform.
Learn to take everything with a grain of salt during a war. That means both the US and Russian sites.

My friend, you clearly have no grasp of the Yukos situation, the trial, or even the basis of the charges and convictions. The sheer absurdity and blatant unfairness of that legal proceeding make reading your little Putin-style pamphlets nothing short of a comedy. The actual court ruling states he is not guilty of the charges, which proves I am not out here defending any criminals.

The only thing more egregious than that was what happened to Magnitsky.

Btw Khodorkovsky doesn't have an issue with his country; his issue is with Putin, who is destroying it. I realize that in your particular parallel universe, you view it as Putin Russia, but let's be realistic.

Leonid Nevzlin—the guy at the center of that whole mess with Yukos—is basically a walking case study in how messy international business and politics get when they collide. After everything went down with the government seizing his assets, he ended up fighting back through the Permanent Court of Arbitration, which actually sided with him and the other shareholders, calling out the state's move as a calculated attempt to wipe out the company. It’s one of those classic stories where you see exactly how much leverage a massive corporation can have against a state, even after they've tried to tear it all down.
Looks like the guy from Yukos—sentenced in absentia—just bolted for Israel.

Probably just some unreliable source looking to spread misinformation—not exactly a gold standard for truth.

🤣

How can one trust such a source when the individual was convicted by a dictator and criminal like Putin in a completely rigged trial? Is that not reason enough to doubt him?

I won't even dignify the omission of this specific detail from the Wikipedia page you linked with a comment.

In 2014, the Permanent Court of Arbitration ruling favored Nevzlin and other Yukos shareholders, calling the actions of the Russian state "a ruthless campaign to destroy Yukos and to expropriate its assets".

But clearly, that part is entirely irrelevant, isn't it? So much for your claims regarding a tendency toward disinformation. 😁
