I’m seeing some local news site claiming about 47 percent are against independence while 41 percent are for it. The thing is, you can't really trust anything on our local news sites, but still... It would be pretty interesting to see some more reliable polls out of Spain if anyone has access to them... If you ask me, I'd say it's closer to 60% in favor of an independent California.
I’ve got no clue what the actual numbers are right now at the border between North Mexico and Greece—how many left the camps, how many actually crossed over... but honestly, I think the US should have stepped up to help North Mexico, and it's not even too late yet.
I mean, send in some police, maybe some military support... It doesn't need to be a massive force, but if every country decided to chip in just 300 soldiers... that's 3,000 extra boots on the ground from just 10 nations to secure the entrance to Europe. If everyone makes a tiny contribution, you can actually move the needle. Then again, the real question is how many people would actually be motivated to head over to North Mexico, though at the end of the day, it's literally their job and they get paid for it... So...🤷
Treating refugees and migrants like this—leaving them out in the mud and the cold in these subhuman conditions—is just wrong... Today, tomorrow, if these people manage to break through into Europe, they aren't going to forget this nightmare, and they'll definitely make sure we pay for the ordeal they went through (especially if there are any terrorist elements mixed in among them)

So is anyone actually stopping them from just leaving? If they don't like life in Spain like you described, fine, they can pack up and walk out of the house just like you said. When you leave a house, you don't take an axe to the foundation and try to haul half the building somewhere else, you just go. That's how it works. Maybe they should just send Guardiola over there to teach them a lesson. Let them build their little kingdom wherever they want, instead of trying to illegally rip a chunk out of the Spanish state... Even if he isn't some hardcore believer—more of a moderate type—I’m really hoping the Spanish people step up and stop this whole smear campaign against the Catholic identity of Spain. I’m totally with you on this. Honestly, some people deserve a permanent ban. When someone puts in all that work—setting up threads, drafting rules, spending days on it—only for others to dodge the consequences because they didn't bother to sign up... it just isn't right. The Democrats are finally finding their footing, but let's be real, it’s not enough yet. They managed to halt the bleeding and nudge things slightly upward, plus all this drama involving the veterans is definitely getting their base fired up... either way, the Republicans aren't going to pull together a majority on their own, which means whoever manages to grab that third-party slot is going to hold all the cards.
The Libertarians or maybe even the Green Party... now that could get interesting...
