I was just sitting here thinking about how much things have shifted lately, and I couldn't help but reflect on some of the conversations we've been having around here. It’s funny how certain topics always seem to circle back to the same core issues, isn't it? I remember reading an old article in The New York Times a few years ago that touched on something very similar to what we're seeing now, and looking back, it feels like we were staring right at the tip of the iceberg. It’s a bit overwhelming sometimes, trying to make sense of all the noise. I tend to take things slow, processing one piece of news at a time, rather than getting swept up in the immediate frenzy. There’s a certain quietness to observing these shifts from a distance, though I know that's easier said than done when everyone is shouting. Anyway, I just wanted to share those thoughts—it felt like a good moment to pause and breathe. kaže:

We've got the documents right in front of us: a Republican county official reportedly beat two American soldiers into unconsciousness back in the 90s.

I was just catching up on some news regarding the recent developments within the Republican Party, and it feels like things are shifting faster than anyone expected. There’s a lot of noise surrounding the internal power struggles right now, especially with how different factions are trying to carve out their own influence. It reminds me of those old political dramas you see on TV, where everyone thinks they have the winning hand until the floor suddenly drops out from under them. I saw a few people talking about this online earlier. hollowmason64 mentioned how much the current momentum might change the upcoming primary season, and I can see where they're coming from. It’s not just about policy anymore; it’s becoming deeply personal between the leadership and the grassroots supporters. I remember back when I was volunteering for a local campaign in Chicago, we had a similar rift—one group wanted to play it safe and moderate, while the other wanted to go full throttle. That tension never really goes away; it just changes shape. Even the analysts at The New York Times are picking up on the friction. They noted that the traditional hierarchy is being challenged by newer voices who aren't afraid to call out the establishment. It’s a bit messy, sure, but honestly, a little chaos can be healthy for a party if it forces them to actually listen to what the voters are feeling on the ground. George Robinson43 brought up an interesting point about whether the party can actually maintain unity once the dust settles. It’s a fair question. If they can’t find common ground soon, they might find themselves heading into the general election more divided than ever. I’m keeping a close eye on how the leadership handles the next round of fundraising and endorsements. It’ll be telling to see who stays loyal and who starts looking for a new seat at the table.

Looking back over thirty-two years of this whole political circus, I’ve come to a pretty heavy conclusion: the people in the Republican Party are actually worse than the insurgents from the old wars.
If someone like that can actually climb the ranks in the Republican Party, it really says everything you need to know about the state of that organization.

You didn't exactly need to read that article to know the type of people signing up for that party. It’s always the absolute bottom of the barrel. And then you have this guy—just totally shameless, really—claiming he couldn't care less about the past because he's "focused on the future." Give me a break.
I’m honestly just wondering where those two bribed guys were at the time. I can't help but think they might have been the ones who really gave that idiot a beating.

We’re stuck with exactly what we voted for. Or more accurately, we’re stuck with the people they chose for us. It’s not like any of the decent, sensible folks actually step up to run for office—nobody can ever seem to please them, so they just stay out of the fray. Instead, this whole shameless pack of politicians just keeps this criminal lot in power, day in and day out.

Spot on! These mindless sheep are the backbone of the Republican Party's base. Their biggest advantage—their most reliable voting bloc—is that 45-50% of voters who pretend to be "principled" by staying home on election day. It’s beneath them, apparently. Those little snowflakes are the ones keeping the Republican Party in power. They’re the ones bankrolling every Fima medij scandal, every Krš-Pađan scheme, every shady construction contract, every rezoning scam, every rigged tender, and every self-appointed moral authority who thinks they can judge everyone else like they're some kind of damn gods...

Patriotism doesn't mean much when you're busy setting fire to your own backyard! Huge congrats to the Republican Party! You've truly outdone yourselves this time...

WE HAVE THE VIDEO PROOF
County Executive: 'I staged the fire just to scare off the American film crew!'; Police: 'The fire was real'
"Even though I said it jokingly, it actually happened," claimed Boban.

Aladrović told The New York Times: If you're asking about responsibility regarding Nikoll, then yes, it definitely exists. But stepping down wouldn't actually fix anything.
Where on earth do they train these arrogant *****??????

In places where a deputy is actually handling EU projects, they're going to feel the gap, which makes this whole new law pretty stupid. It shouldn't matter if there's a deputy or not—it should matter whether they're actually doing work.

Of course it will be. That's how it works, and honestly, it feels like it was planned that way... Let Kurt ride so Murta can take control! I just don't understand how we haven't been conquered yet by some modern-day Huns or Tatars from somewhere else in the world...

Amanda Kim2 said:According to Vladimir Šeks, anyone left off the ballot is basically guaranteed a job once the elections are over!

- I’m hoping the Republican Party pulls it off and comes out as the relative winner in the congressional elections. If they do, there'll be plenty of room for those who didn't make the lists to find their footing in various government roles, Šeks told CNN.

And what's news about that? That's just how things work in America—it’s been that way since the dawn of time.

I mean, I can think of at least three women who are pretty much part of the Republican Party.

One of them didn't bother re-registering with the party, which I guess is kind of expected lately now that she's lost a few elections. But hey, she could jump back in any second!

Then there was one who used to lead the whole thing, but I think they ended up kicking her out through some ethics committee or something like that.

And the third one? Well, she's currently dealing with some legal trouble regarding power plants.

So, yeah, you really can't say they don't have any...

The Republican Party's "ethics committee" is an oxymoron. It's basically pig iron—for those of you who don't speak English properly.

Donald Trump has been scrolling through the news sites. Now he’s appearing on Fox Broadcasting Company, pitching his agenda with this insane, forced grin. He refuses to actually answer any questions—he just bulldozes over everyone with his own agenda. And the optimism? It's nauseating. He’s such a terrible actor...

It looks to me like the Republican Party brought in Kerum for the exact same reason they used Dapic during the presidential elections. They’re clearly trying to peel away some of Schur's voters. Only problem is... they forgot to tell Kerum he shouldn't be openly praising the Republican Party on camera. I'm watching Open and I can't stop laughing. He’s running with HGS, yet he spends the whole time singing the praises of the Republican Party

People are finally waking up to the fact that this isn't just some staged performance by Andrew to play the anti-corruption hero... It’s clearly Plan B in full swing. Though, honestly, it's hard to see any actual results coming from it. For once, I might actually agree with Puhovski—it seems Plenković let one too many details slip regarding those investigations into EPK.

A convicted terrorist.
Just lovely.
It looks like the Republican Party isn't just a criminal organization, they're running a terrorist one too.

That wasn't Bušić's wife, it was his sister... The wife was convicted alongside him.

crimsonwolf26 said:Does anyone else get the feeling that the Republican Party is actually trying to lose this election on purpose?🤣 It’s like they know exactly what’s coming after the votes are counted, so they figure it’s better if someone else gets branded as the worst administration in American history.
The njonja unit is going to be a specialized division dedicated entirely to messing around,😁 while the ninth and tenth units will have to be filled by the raw materials—people like Milinović, Kalmeta, and that whole crowd. Beroš is just way too polite for that kind of work; he speaks such proper, formal American.

Do you honestly believe they care about the people? That they give a damn about a recession, a falling GDP, or tens of thousands of people losing their jobs? Their massive paychecks will arrive right on schedule, and their black limos will be fueled up by drivers using government credit cards. Why on earth would they fear what's ahead?
As for those ninth or tenth units... I'm guessing the plan is to skip them entirely. Not now, and not in four years. Never again. It would be too much work to try and rebrand the Republican Party. They’ve probably calculated that they won't lose more than three or four seats. And even then, they'll just make up the difference through a coalition with Škoro

Aaron Gray said:Honestly, I doubt it.

In Washington, D.C., they'll grab the usual 4 or 5... probably the same in the XI district. It's pretty much what they always get.

They’re in real trouble in the second, sixth, and seventh districts... The second is struggling because of njonja, and the sixth because of Božinović (though Marijana Petir might actually make an impact there—and maybe give Božinović a hard time in the process). The seventh is a mess since it stretches all the way from the coast to Central Park. I have no idea why they included Medved there; probably because of Columbus, but that’s only a tiny slice of that district...

And the third and seventh, too...

The candidate list is a disaster. I’m not going to sit here and play dumb by acting like Medved isn't a weird name, but let's be real—half these people are total unknowns to me.
Žarko Tušek
Who even is that?

Sent from my iPhone using Reddit

He's the Chairman of the Ethics Committee. Apparently, he was involved in some traffic accident that was classified as top secret, or something like that...

Carol Newman2 said:They really should have picked someone with more political weight to lead the charge.

Maybe a mayor from a place like Orlando or Savannah would have carried more clout.

They could have gone with Kalmeta...

Here’s my breakdown of the trouble brewing in the districts:
II. Raspudić is going to absolutely crush njonja III.
III. Tušek is looking a lot worse off than his buddy Hajdaš VI.
VI. Božinović won't be able to pull as many preferential votes as Petirka VII.
VII. This district is a disaster for the former Defense Minister... a total mismatch for an ex-tent dweller.
IX. In this district, the Republican Party needs a loud, aggressive, hard-right fighter... not some timid, weak little boy.
X. x. vila Beroš against ruža Tomašić? That's incredibly risky. It’s obvious the threat decided—NO.

Noah Perez5 said:1. There seems to be this frantic effort to project an image of the Republican Party battling corruption, first through Karamarko and now with these recent arrests. In my view, they are essentially sacrificing the small fry. Or maybe they're just feeding the crocodiles, if you will.

2. It feels as though things are spiraling out of control; we've reached a point where everything has finally accumulated and hit a breaking point. For quite some time now, it seems like there isn't a single day that passes without some sort of scandal leaking out. These are uncertain times for the entire party organization. It looks like everyone is simply looking out for themselves now, leading to internal betrayals and factional infighting just to survive.

3. Imagine a pond full of crocodiles during a drought; as the water evaporates, the space shrinks. There just isn't enough room left for all of them, so the least important factions and individuals are being quietly phased out.

I think it will be quite interesting to see exactly when these arrests will stop. My suspicion is that once they finish cutting off the tentacles, the head of the octopus will remain perfectly intact and untouched.

Do you honestly think they can pull all of this off without tanking their approval ratings?

They’ve picked up Ana Mandac, the assistant to the Secretary of Commerce, and they also grabbed Ružica Njavro from the Department of Agriculture.

Casey Cook10 said:So what, are we supposed to believe a squeaky-clean, totally honest, super patriotic Republican Party is actually showing up to the polls?
I guess we'll just have to wait and see, right?

No, of course not. After this mess, they’re heading into the election under the massive shadow of being a "party full of people with their hands in the cookie jar." You can't be both corrupt and honest. Maybe you can be honestly corrupt... 🤣

silentsurfer3 said:Around that exact same time, news leaked out about how Krstičević basically got handed apartments on a silver platter by the Department of Defense.

My theory? A few big players have "burn files" they pull out right before elections specifically to take someone down.

The Democratic Party vs. Plenković's Republican Party
The Republican Party vs. Karamarko's Republican Party
Homeland Movement—I'm not sure if they've got their own heavy hitters in the mix here; I'd guess not since they aren't exactly in the inner circle, but if they do, we might see some dirt leak out against the Republican Party soon as a way to get even.

Let’s be real here. For most people, this isn't proof that the Republican Party is actually willing to arrest its own. To most, it just proves that plenty of Republicans were caught red-handed. No matter how much people love the idea of Plenković cleaning house, there are only 37 days left until the election...
