I honestly believe it’s incredibly difficult to live solely on spiritual pursuits in today's world. We really need to find a healthy balance between our spiritual lives and our material needs. None of us are out here looking for hardship or living in poverty just to prove a point; doing that doesn't automatically elevate your soul. However, the reality is that so many people have found their entire sense of purpose in chasing material wealth. For them, this "mission" becomes so all-consuming that it essentially turns into a false god.
On top of that, people seem to struggle with grasping even the most basic logic—like the fact that you can't drive two cars at once or eat three lunches simultaneously...
But I suppose the golden calf is more seductive than ever today, or perhaps it's more accurate to say it appeals to a much larger crowd than it used to...😢
Are you sure you haven't had one too many drinks? 😢
Do you honestly believe that having freedom of choice leads to
anxiety, frustration, complexes, projections, or unfulfilled ambitions ...
that serve as the root cause of all the world's problems? 😕
Or perhaps you're just projecting your own feelings onto me? 😉
Is this how you’re raising—or planning to raise—your children, leading you to recommend such a "successful" model? 😁
Or did we simply completely misunderstand one another? 🙄
As a mother of three little monsters, there isn't a single day that goes by where I don't find myself asking the same old questions. And so far, I haven't found any clear guidelines, let alone actual answers.
Perhaps people here aren't fully grasping it yet, but we are living through an era of massive shifts—technological leaps, changing institutions, evolving values. It’s a period defined by uncertainty. Honestly, that isn't inherently good or bad; it just is.
"...Freedom has been thrust back into our hands, and we are all condemned to be free—free to choose. There is no escaping it. Our institutions won't step up to take responsibility because they are too caught up in their own confusion. There is no church, no government, and no market you can lean on anymore. There are no pre-packaged values left to use as an escape hatch... And so, at the dawn of this new millen
ium, we find ourselves faced with the choice to finally take ownership of our own freedom."
But with that freedom comes responsibility... the more choices we have, the more weight falls on us as individuals.
We can either embrace these changes or try to run from them. The bad news is, in a globally connected world like ours, there's nowhere left to hide!
So, how do we prepare these little ones to handle all of this?
I have to admit, it seems like I only really embraced my feminine side during that brief window between being a young girl and starting to date. Once dating actually kicked in, things reverted right back to how they always were: pure, unadulterated pain...😢 (Perhaps I overdid it, so I ended up right back at square one).
My stomach can handle just about anything, though I’ve gone from relying on basic Advil and Buscopan in my younger, more innocent days to using much stronger stuff like Celebrex... Only, in my case, the process works in reverse: I start with a dosage of 2-3 and then gradually taper down. The pain usually subsides about half an hour after taking it, there are zero side effects, and I feel like a brand-new person!😎
Vanessa said:The standard definition of rape is quite clear.
Basically, it is any non-consensual sexual act. Whether she didn't want it or the act itself was forced upon her against her will.
I honestly don't see the difference here.
To be blunt, I'm struggling to find the point of this entire post, and I can barely believe what I'm reading.😲
What is this idea that someone said "no" but actually meant "yes"? Do people think rapists are some kind of damn mind readers?
I agree that coercion or deception can happen, but what you're suggesting? No. A "no" means NO. That goes for marriage as well.
Exactly... it all comes down to the environment you're in...
Think of it this way: someone who is typically labeled an introvert might find themselves in a social circle where, when measured against everyone else, their behavior actually shifts toward being extroverted.
But that raises a question: what are the universal standards we use, and how do we even begin to measure character?
Dream... I am in complete agreement with you here:
It isn't necessarily a lack of character; rather, it's a sense of being scattered—an inability to establish a stable baseline.
And I think that’s the heart of the matter: everyone has to find their own internal compass and learn to live in total harmony with it.
Personally, I don't subscribe to spirituality as an isolated concept. I tend to vote for a healthy balance between the "material" world and the spiritual one. Though, admittedly, that might be the hardest balance to strike.😕

What does it truly mean to have character?
What is it like to be an outsider and defy every stereotype out there?
And what defines being a "weirdo"?!
I honestly think everyone should experience something like that at least once. Standing out, pushing back against the grain, stirring up a little rebellion within yourself—it’s vital. But living that kind of life constantly? 🙄
Where does that leave our social side?
How do you maintain any sense of community???
And where on earth would you even fit in...
Humans are social creatures... that much is certain.
To define someone as one thing or another, you have to compare them to something else. And what do we compare them to? Usually, we look at the majority—the general public—which has already established certain social norms and standards of behavior.
But I am curious why you are grouping "being an eccentric" and "having character" under the same umbrella. Are we really living in a society where having actual backbone makes you an outcast? And how are you defining "character" here? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but having character isn't inherently a positive trait. So, are you suggesting being a "weirdo" carries a negative connotation, or are you looking at it differently? 😉
I actually just arrived with the exact same thought... 'come on, let's get this moving as soon as possible!'🙂
