My dearest witches, wiccans, and those of you still finding your way!
So, what I’m starting to share here today is part of a little ritual involving planting medicinal herbs. Everything I’m rambling about is strictly personal experience. There aren't any rigid rules I've read in some book that I'm following; I just listen to my gut, lean on what I've learned over the years, and apply the knowledge gathered at the Witches.
Since this is a bit of a "work in progress," I’d welcome any suggestions or corrections if I’m doing anything "wrong." Or better yet—since there really is no such thing as a wrong action—I'd love some guidance or focused direction from someone with more expertise (maybe Snake, V.?).
The slope where I’ll begin planting faces south; basically, it's bathed in sun almost all day long. That glowing orb arcs from left to right, feeding much-needed energy into the land and the seeds. Because it's a hillside, the sun hits this patch of earth at a near angle, which works in our favor. The site is tucked away in nature, pretty much untouched—surrounded by ridges, close enough to the main highway to be accessible, but far enough to feel isolated. You can only get to this spot on foot. First, I need to perform the ritual of bowing deeply to grandmother land. My plan is to lie face down on every single square inch of soil and ask grandmother land to grant me a blessing—to let her energy swirl through my body and back into the earth again. It’s about circulating energy from the land, through me, and back into the ground, while asking permission to start digging.
Then comes the second ritual, where I release my own energy into the earth and circle it back to myself. I personally call it the "small and large circle."
These two rituals don't contradict each other at all; after all, the energy we hold is one and the same. We just direct it toward different points. Letting the earth's energy pass through my body gives me strength and seeks grandmother land's blessing, while sending my own energy into the dirt dictates how I'll interact with the medicinal plants later.
Witch and Snake have decided to leave Reddit for good. They left us in the hands of Witch on Lin, promising they’d return with some deep-dive content on the fundamentals, but we haven't seen a thing.
I just hope we can manage to keep the spirit alive that they built here, even though this place is losing its primary drivers—the real architects of free thought.
Maybe they'll make a comeback one day. Until then, I wish them nothing but the best.😢 😢 👋
Madonna, honey, I’ve finally decided to see a plastic surgeon to get some work done on my chest.
* Why not just try using some toilet paper instead?? * What on earth are you talking about? * It's simple! Just grab a square of TP every morning and pull it back and forth between them a few times. * You seriously think that's going to make them bigger? * Please. We both know that worked wonders for your backside.
Haha, dustywolf13, don't let these two cynical witches, Buffy and Copernicus, throw you off your game.😁
Unfortunately, you're asking some pretty naive questions, so they were just itching to shut you down.😁 😉
Don't go expecting anyone here to drop "recipes" in public. You framed the question poorly. Based on how you asked it, everyone can see just how far you still have to go. But hey, if you've committed to the path, at least you took the first step.
One vital thing to grasp early on:
it isn't technique that transforms you, it's the spirit.
And John Walker74 already laid out the rest beautifully. There’s more truth in her poetry than most would realize at first glance. As her signature wisely notes, the answer is right there in front of you.
But first, you have to learn how to actually see.😉 Through the spirit, not through mechanics.😉 That takes time.
As for techniques? There are plenty to go around. And they work, if you know what you're doing.🙂
Sister Bernadette—the supposed moral compass of this chaotic mess we call America—is claiming that rape is just some heavy misfortune. Like it's nothing more than a kid getting high behind a dumpster in Chicago.
😲
If that’s actually an authentic quote from former Sister Bernadette, then I’m stepping up to say, quite frankly, she’s full of it and has absolutely no clue what she’s talking about.
Look, if some guy pulls a knife or a gun and threatens you... most guys would just tuck their tails and hide too! Then people start babbling about medical exams being proof... what a joke.
Spot on. Sometimes you don't even need a weapon. Just having an extra 100 pounds and a few inches of height is enough. Catch someone off guard and it's game over.
What can we do, ladies? Evolution wired us males to scan for every possible sign of sexual opportunity, even if we misread the signals half the time.
That's fine. But then you hit a situation where you try to gauge the truth of things—she says no, and you back off peacefully.
😁 😉
But that’s almost never the backdrop of rape. Rape stems from a completely different motive. It’s orchestrated as a sort of "punishment" when a man feels his "power" slipping away; when he feels "threatened" for whatever reason and realizes he can't make someone "dance to his tune." He sees the other person isn't reacting to his provocations, and suddenly his "masculinity" or "authority" feels bruised—even if it's entirely a figment of his own twisted imagination. Rape is often premeditated. It's rarely a heat-of-the-moment impulse. It's revenge, fueled by the predator knowing he's physically stronger and she can't fight back. The element of surprise is huge, too; once he's got them cornered, the rest follows easily. At some point, the victim just shuts down because there's no way out. In that state of shock and numbness, they disconnect from their own body and pray to God it ends quickly.
Based on the psychological profiles of both the victim and the perpetrator, guilt can be determined quite reliably. You can't just fake that kind of thing...
Since it's such a traumatic experience and the ultimate humiliation for a woman, most of these cases go unreported. People are left to deal with the aftermath on their own, however they can. More or less...
On a serious note to wrap this up. Everyone has their own moral compass, I guess. For some, we're talking about sexual assault or stripping someone of their dignity, while for others, it's just as trivial as watching a Sunday night NFL game.
Honestly, give me a break. That comparison is completely baseless; you’d be better off staying quiet on this one. Comparing sexual assault and the destruction of someone's identity to a slap on the butt in a single breath?!😲 Just please, stop.
But still, I find myself wondering just how many of those unreported rapes actually happen. Whether a woman stays quiet out of sheer terror, or if she's simply being passive or possessive.
Excuse me???😲
When a woman is raped, it’s a completely different state of consciousness. It isn't about fear. The process works differently. Immediately after, there's just shock. She doesn't even grasp what happened. She’s fractured—body here, soul somewhere else entirely. The reaction is pure revulsion. There's this subconscious drive to scrub the body clean, an attempt to somehow negate the act itself. It's primal. Then comes the guilt. Hours, days spent spiraling, convinced she did something wrong. That she triggered it. That’s why women stay silent. They try to sweep it under the rug, hoping the whole thing will just vanish into thin air.
If fear exists, it's about how people react. After the assault, she isn't even sure of her own reality; every cell in her body rejects what occurred. Keeping it from others serves one purpose: to make the memory disappear as fast as possible. It isn't about passivity or being "possessive." It’s a desperate, clawing need to suppress it, to bury it deep...
Most rapists are people you know. Most unreported cases involve someone within a social circle. That makes it harder to speak up. Harder to fight back. When someone you know turns on you, it's the last thing you ever see coming. And they exploit that. They weaponize the shock they created. Deep down, they count on her silence.
In all that chaos, a woman forgets she bears zero blame. Usually, she thinks she's the cause. Thinks nobody will believe her if she opens her mouth. So, silence becomes the easiest path. Just bury it. Deep, deep down... where it never sees the light of day again.
There’s one more thing: rape is a display of power and dominance. If they can't have you through affection, they'll take your dignity instead. It's a way to prove they are above you, physically superior. Because deep down, they know they're inferior in every other way.
Right, so... wasn't someone bringing up those ritualistic bonfires and burnings a while back? That would make for a pretty fitting birthday present, wouldn't it...😁 😁 😁 😉
I’ve always been a fan of syncretism; my own practice ends up looking more like a messy collision between Jack Harris3 and a Witch. 😁 Besides, I’m neither a Florida girl nor a New Yorker. 😉
Something along the lines of the Tibetan Book of the Dead or similar nonsense. Since we’re all headed for the grave anyway, I say we start with guides for the deceased.😁 😉
