Just build a template with the driver list and how you want them formatted, if that’s even a requirement...
Maybe we just drop it in the main thread before every race, or just stick it in the opening post.

I was actually leaning toward one of the suggestions from briskhound76 (about transferring a driver's points over to the team), but if the rules are already set in stone, then there's really nothing left to talk about.

Look, the rule is simple: points from one competitor get transferred. It's up to them to decide who joins whose squad, and they can call their team whatever they want...
So, silentbear49 could join briskhound76's team and keep his points...
Or briskhound76 could join silentbear49's team and keep hers...
And they can change the team name to whatever they feel like.

graniteharbor502 said:8. What happens if a competitor fails to submit a fresh prediction, or perhaps submits one only after the official deadline has already passed? In such an instance, the "Joker" rule will be triggered. You see, while it is mandatory for every participant to provide a new prediction for every single race, the rules allow for three "Jokers" per season; these are activated automatically whenever someone misses a submission, at which point their most recent official prediction will be credited for those specific races. However, once a player has exhausted all three of their "Jokers," no further points will be awarded to them, meaning they would be required to submit a new prediction if they truly wish to remain in the competition.
If a competitor fails to submit a fresh prediction for two consecutive races, their teammate is granted the authority to remove them from the team if they see fit; should this occur, that individual will simply proceed through the rest of the competition as a solo entrant, unless they explicitly state otherwise.

9. Is there any clarity regarding the protocols for submitting predictions? To ensure everything remains orderly, a participant may only post their predictions using the specific username they utilized when registering for the competition—unless, of course, an administrator has seen fit to modify that handle. Furthermore, we must establish that any participant facing a ban is ineligible to participate in the specific round during which the ban is active. This regulation applies to anyone whose suspension lasts at least until the submission deadline for that particular round; however, an exception exists if the individual managed to submit a fresh prediction prior to the ban being enforced, in which case that prediction will be honored regardless of their status. Additionally, should a banned participant possess an unused Joker prediction and fail to submit a standard entry for the round in question, that Joker prediction will still be applied to their score, just as it would for any other competitor. Does this sufficiently outline the expectations for everyone involved?

10. Is it not a fascinating thought that competitors might move between teams without any restriction whatsoever? In the event that such a transfer occurs, one must consider how the scoring functions; specifically, a competitor does not carry over the collective team points earned during their tenure with a previous squad, though their individual points remain entirely intact. Does this not seem like a fair distinction to maintain? This same logic applies to those who have been eliminated from the competition as well. Essentially, team points begin accumulating anew from the very moment a fresh team is established, whereas a simple change in a team's name carries no weight regarding the point totals. Each team is permitted two name changes throughout the duration of the season, yet prior to the start of the season, they may alter their designation as often as they see fit. Is there not a certain freedom in that level of flexibility?

11. If a participant chooses to include a driver in their prediction who doesn't actually appear on the official FIA entry list for a specific race, will they receive any points for that selection? The answer is a firm no; if the driver isn't part of the official roster, they simply don't count. Furthermore, one cannot claim points for drivers omitted from their submitted ranking, regardless of how logical or seemingly necessary it might feel to have left a specific individual out. The scoring process follows the exact positions a participant assigns to their chosen drivers; therefore, should there be a clerical error or a typo in those numerical rankings, the standings will be calculated strictly according to the numbers provided, however flawed they may be. If certain positions are left blank, no points will be awarded for them. Additionally, if a participant happens to list the same position number or the same driver more than once, all points associated with those duplicate entries will be forfeited entirely. What occurs if someone lists more drivers than would normally be expected to start a race under standard circumstances? In such an instance, no points will be granted for those surplus drivers or extra positions. For any driver where a position hasn't been specified, they shall be treated as NOP. However, if the entire ranking is submitted without any position numbers at all, the list will be processed as a ranking without any NOPs. Is it not essential that we maintain this level of precision to ensure fairness for everyone involved?

12. Is it not worth noting that copying someone else's prediction is strictly prohibited? It is a matter we take quite seriously, though we only move to investigate and issue penalties if a participant files a formal complaint, and even then, only once the deadline for submitting predictions on this thread has officially passed. For those wondering what constitutes plagiarism in this context, it is defined as posting more than 75% of the drivers—including all groups, rounded up to the nearest whole number—in the exact same positions as another prediction already submitted for that specific race. Naturally, any previous predictions being utilized as Jokers are excluded from this calculation. Should anyone be found guilty of such copying, the penalty is straightforward: the prediction will simply be disregarded entirely.

13. How exactly are the standings calculated? Well, they are determined strictly based on the official results released by the FIA immediately following the conclusion of the race—that initial preliminary order is what counts. Any subsequent corrections or adjustments made by the FIA after that moment are simply not taken into account for our purposes. As for the Non-Points scorers, we consider any driver listed on the official FIA entry list who fails to secure a finishing position, regardless of whether their status is marked as a DNF, NC, or Retired. Furthermore, if we look at the standard FIA regulations, a driver is technically considered to have retired if they complete less than 90% of the total race distance. And of course, the race itself consists of however many laps the FIA deems necessary, whether they decide that through their standard procedure or via some extraordinary ruling.
Drivers who fail to qualify during the qualifying sessions and therefore do not participate in the race will be calculated as NOP, provided they were officially included on the FIA entry list.

3. Should any controversial situation arise during the competition that isn't explicitly covered by the specific points within these Regulations, the Race Director shall make the final call, relying upon common sense and adhering to the fundamental moral principle of fair play. These Regulations take effect upon their publication within the Championship thread designated for rules and standings, though they may be subject to amendments if, as the season progresses, it becomes evident that such changes are absolutely necessary to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the competition.

4. It remains possible to replace the Race Director at any point during the competition, should a majority of the competitors elect a new director who is willing to accept the position. In much the same manner, any disputed rules may be modified, though under no circumstances can such changes be applied retroactively to previous events.

Why are we even arguing about this when there's already a rule in place? 🤔

Gary Palmer8 said:If you're trying to act like a troll, you're the only one doing it here. We've seen this a million times with AlphaTauri moving out of the way for the Red Bull drivers like they're invisible... so don't pretend you haven't been following F1 since Valtteri Bottas joined Mercedes...

It would be weird if they didn't move...
And no, this isn't the same situation.☕

AlphaTauri is owned by Red Bull Racing; they are literally their junior team, so obviously they’re going to move. Expecting anything else would be insane...
Anyone who actually believes fairy tales about some entrepreneur letting one of his companies sabotage the other—basically punching himself in the face—clearly isn't playing with a full deck...

On the flip side, Williams Racing isn't owned by Mercedes, and it's certainly not Force India...
That's why it's a totally different ballgame. It's not normal for Esteban Ocon to move for Lewis Hamilton in Monaco, where overtaking is basically mission impossible, especially when he goes public about being told to move, and then Toto Wolff later confirms he gave the order...
It's also not normal for Wolff to publicly lecture George Russell about how he shouldn't overtake Mercedes drivers...

And honestly, who cares what some AlphaTauri driver did?🙂
What does that have to do with the fact that Bottas is the most obedient Number 2 driver ever, used exclusively as a wingman from race to race, while his boss publicly calls him the best helper in history...🤔

Anyway, a juicy little quote popped up for all the marketing gurus out there🙂
For all those marketing types who have spent years believing the fairy tale that the Mercedes isn't a dominant car...🙂

https://www.racefans.net/2021/04/28/...in-idle-mode/?

What more do you need besides this official confirmation that Mercedes has been running their cars in "safe mode" since the start of the hybrid era just to avoid embarrassing the competition and triggering rule changes regarding the engines...
Good grief, if you read between the lines of what Paddy Lowe is saying, it turns out they already had an advantage before the first race of the season that they weren't even using, and then they found another 7 or 8 tenths during the second test...🙂
And yet, they still proceeded to dominate qualifying and races like nobody in the history of the sport...

Who knows how much extra power they're still hiding, or if they're even using their full strength today or if they're still holding back...
But sure, let's talk about how Red Bull is dominant and miles ahead of Mercedes, and how McLaren and Ferrari are super dangerous and making Mercedes tremble in fear...🙂

Gary Palmer8 said:Right... that’s why Jean Todt used to hang out in the Sauber garage telling drivers to hold up Jacques Villeneuve... or how Flavio told Nelson Piquet to intentionally hit the wall... or when they told Rubens Barrichello he had to slow down just to let Michael Schumacher through during a race with only six cars left.

But sure, nobody else ever got orders like Valtteri Bottas did... you're totally right... with everyone else, it was three times worse.

Yeah, right... I honestly can't tell if you're playing blind, deaf, or just straight-up trolling me here.
We've heard it all before, but the idea that Bottas was told to move at one specific corner just so he wouldn't accidentally cost Lewis Hamilton a tenth? Never heard that one.
Aside from whatever Jean Todt was whispering in garages, you've also got Toto Wolff giving public lectures through the media about how George Russell isn't even allowed to attack or overtake his own Mercedes-Benz Number 2 driver. 🙂
And don't forget Esteban Ocon dancing around in Monaco just to stay out of the way. ☕

I remember him loving him, then hating him, then loving him again, then back to hating him...
Honestly, just a super weird relationship 😁

Whether he’s currently over it or still hating him, I have no clue, but at the end of the day, it doesn't even matter...
What matters is knowing when he'll turn on Lewis Hamilton next or if he ever actually hated Michael Schumacher...

They hated Prost.
Then they hated Michael Schumacher.
Now they're hating Lewis Hamilton.
And all this while the first two were still around—and Hamilton is still driving, for that matter.

What can I say... the hate is just exhausting.

Let's be real here:
Jason Campbell70 hated Fernando Alonso
Jason Campbell70 hated Lewis Hamilton
Jason Campbell70 hated Sebastian Vettel
Jason Campbell70 hates Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc...

But since we haven't crossed paths since 2007, tell me—were you hating on Michael Schumacher back then too?😍

Gary Palmer8 said:Sure, but they didn't hand him a car that couldn't compete right out of the gate at the start of the season. Honestly, the way they played equalizer with Mercedes' team orders—or even how guys like Fernando Alonso, Michael Schumacher, or Sebastian Vettel handled things at Red Bull Racing—is just an insult to anyone with half a brain.

Like trying to balance a checkbook when you're already broke. 🤣🤣🤣

Of course they're an insult to intelligence...
Because nobody else ever got the kind of team orders that Valtteri Bottas was handed...

I mean, hello? "Hey Valtteri, move out of the way for Lewis in Turn 8 so Lewis loses as little time as possible while you overtake him." Just brilliant. 🤦

Other drivers might get told stuff like "don't attack," "hold position behind," or "give up the spot"—and yeah, some followed them and some didn't...
But Bottas was the only one getting specific instructions on which exact corner to move in, and he did it without a single word of complaint. Everyone else at least put up a little fight or shed a tear after the race and gave those dramatic interviews.
Bottas didn't even bother with that.

Gary Palmer8 said:Most of this is just pure misery from haters who were probably already popping champagne when Lewis hit the barrier... I'd pay good money to see those sour faces at the end of the race. 😁

Why even watch a video that’s clearly just fueled by massive hate from the British media? Some obnoxious driver in some random backwater town thinks he can lecture their own Sir Lewis Hamilton.
Watching that race, I honestly thought the NBC crew was going to have a collective heart attack...
I haven't seen any haters more obsessed than the Brits with Sebastian Vettel since that one incident; they clearly can't forgive him or forget it.

The funniest part of this whole mess is Martin Brundle, who was basically worshiping Vettel's driving right before this race...
And now, he's just spitting on him every single chance he gets.

Gary Palmer8 said:Except Red Bull themselves admitted that Max and the other driver aren't getting equal cars...

They might have also mentioned their second driver is the best wingman ever. 🤔

ruggedhawk20 said:Can you please actually prove this one-second advantage for Mercedes?

Because our eyes saw Mercedes dragging through the midfield and struggling just to fight for P9.

Shouldn't a car that's a full second faster be sitting at the front, regardless of how much the driver is messing it up!?

https://www.formula1.com/en/results....test-laps.html

Sure, anything is possible, but saying someone can pull nearly a full second faster lap than everyone else without even being on significantly fresher tires? Yeah, I'm not buying it...
Regardless of all the noise and Wolff's whining about how Red Bull is the fastest car or how "poor" they have it.
Mercedes is, without any doubt, the fastest car on the grid...

Look, sure, they aren't hyper-dominant like in previous seasons where they could cruise in "save mode" with a second or two gap to the next guy—and God knows what happens when they crank up party mode—but they're still the best car.
Unless they fail to win the championship by three or four races before the season ends, this thing is an absolute beast...
2021 Emilia Romagna GP (Imola) | April 16-18 in Formula 1 ·
It’s not like he had much of a shot anyway...
But after this weekend, Bottas can kiss any title hopes goodbye...

https://www.racefans.net/2021/04/21/...air-in-crash/?

Russell absolutely trashed his engine, which basically guarantees a mountain of grid penalties.
So yeah, he just killed two races in one go.
2021 Emilia Romagna GP (Imola) | April 16-18 in Formula 1 ·
Exactly...
Ever since they brought that into Formula 1, the Department of Defense selection has been a total joke...
I mean, I remember Max being picked by the DOD a couple of times, even after he wrecked his car in the first lap. 🙏🤣
2021 Emilia Romagna GP (Imola) | April 16-18 in Formula 1 ·
What kind of twisted logic says Honda has the best engine (and they've had it since last year😁), while RB supposedly has superior aerodynamics...
but then you look at the fact that Mercedes has the faster car 🤔

How is that even possible? 🤷

There are basically three ways this fairy tale makes sense:
A.) Honda isn't even in the same league as Mercedes
B.) Adrian Newey has lost his touch and his car's aero isn't anywhere near as good as the Mercedes
C.) Max is way slower than Lewis Hamilton, and honestly, he was slower than Valtteri Bottas last year too...

Look, you can see everything clearly in the first 6 seconds.

No other driver on this grid could pull off a start like that and then immediately wreck their own wing.

Only Lujin's ice-cold composure could lead to something like this.
😵

Well, obviously only the GOAT could manage something like that!
What part of that don't you get? 🤷

ruggedhawk20 said:People used to love saying, "Man, if Red Bull had a Mercedes engine, they'd be unstoppable." Well, look at them now. They actually have an even better engine than Mercedes, and we see the result: a totally dominant car.

Red Bull doesn't have the best engine, period...
If they actually had the best engine, they’d be miles ahead of Mercedes. Instead, it's the cars running Mercedes power that seem to own the top speed in every single sector.

And let's be real, Red Bull definitely doesn't have worse aero than Mercedes. Honestly, I doubt they ever did, let alone this season...

Based on what you're saying, it sounds like Max is a total hack, maybe even on the level of someone like Palmer. 🙄
Because I honestly don't know how else to explain why Red Bull—supposedly with the best engine and the best aero—isn't actually any better than Mercedes. In reality, they're just hovering somewhere in the middle.
