Roger Williams3 said:I don't know, but looking at the lap times—where Bourdais barely saw any difference compared to the top 10 drivers between Qualifying 1 and Qualifying 2—that's where I'm getting this idea.
😉

I'm not saying he can't drive, I'm just saying we have to consider he might have been cruising through Qualifying 1.

I mean, if he was actually that fast in Qualifying 1, why did he tank so hard in Qualifying 2? Especially since he should've had way less fuel in his tank (he was only 0.233s off his Qualifying 1 time).

It seems pretty obvious it’s all about the fuel load.😉 At that exact weight, the car probably handles perfectly.🤷 If my memory serves me right and Vettel took Pole Position at the last race, then STR clearly figured something out that everyone else missed.🤷

Roger Williams3 said:And why is it impossible to run with low fuel in Qualifying 1 just like in Qualifying 2?

Is there some rule stating you have to carry less fuel in Qualifying 2 than in Qualifying 1?

Just look at the times. You'll see Bourdais was slightly faster in Qualifying 2 than in Qualifying 1, which suggests he was running almost as light in Qualifying 1 as he was in Qualifying 2.
😉

As far as I know, there aren't any fuel restrictions in Qualifying 2. Everyone knows the fastest laps happen in Qualifying 2 because the cars are basically empty. For Qualifying 1, I haven't a clue—maybe it's related to race trim?🤷 But it doesn't matter; his time in Qualifying 2 was 0.3 slower than in Qualifying 1, and everyone knows cars run heavier in Qualifying 1 than in Qualifying 2.

P.S. I don't know the rulebook by heart, but do you honestly think it's possible he had less fuel in Qualifying 1?🤣 By that logic, he was driving on fumes.😂 Plus, if that were actually an option, why wouldn't teams like Honda or Force India try it every single time?😉 They’d be sitting on Pole Position at the end of Qualifying 1 every damn weekend.🙄

Psychology is a brutal thing, don't forget that. The kid is good—maybe even great—but after that absolute disaster last year, I wouldn't be surprised if history repeats itself this season. Honestly, it feels like it's coming. Once you lose your nerve like that, you might never get it back.☕

They'll just call him the Eternal Runner-Up.☕

I bet both him and Ron Dennis will be repeating that same line for years to come.😉

Raymond Ortiz89 said:Yeah, he absolutely nailed that drive. It was phenomenal—every single driver on the grid could’ve learned a thing or two from him. 🤣

But honestly, I think he'll be nowhere to be found tomorrow. 🤷 Toyota and Honda are still kicking butt.

I'm with you—Bourdais was completely screwed by that strategy.👎 He cruised through Qualifying 3 without breaking a sweat, but he didn't actually do anything meaningful. Probably going to be the exact same story during the race.😢 Sebastian Vettel’s taking the points for sure. Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if Timo Glock or Jarno Trulli pulled it off too—not to mention our resident rain master, Rubens Barrichello. 😬

Maybe this year. If he doesn't grab the title now, he's never getting it. In the coming years, the trophies will be going to 🙂killers like Sebastian Vettel, Kazuki Nakajima😁, Takuma Sato🙏🙏🙏 and Timo Glock, maybe even David Coulthard😬 if he actually finds a decent team down the road🤣. As for Hamilton, he might as well kiss those championship dreams goodbye, just like Alonso☕.

Roger Williams3 said:Why?
He was lightning fast in Q1 because he was running way lighter than everyone else—just look at the gap between his Q1 and Q2 times.
The top guys were just doing the bare minimum in Q1 to get through.

On the flip side, sure, maybe Alonso cruised into Q3, but you still have to admit he did a killer job compared to his teammate.

I wouldn't go that far.😕 Burda🙏 drove a perfect🙏🙏 lap in Q1, since cars are basically empty by Q2.😉, so there's no way he had less fuel in Q1 than in Q2. It’s impossible.☕
Belgian GP - Circuit of the Americas in Formula 1 ·
Vettel is running a one-stop strategy. If it starts pouring rain right when he's due for a pit stop and stays like that until the checkered flag, then hey, maybe we actually see his first win.🙏🙏🙏

Vettel is playing it safe for the final round. I'm calling it now: Pole Position.☕
Burda takes second. 😬
Kimi Räikkönen 9 ☕
Felipe Massa 10☕

Exactly looks like it. Next year, Sebastian Vettel is coming for that World Champion 100 title.☕

I'm 100% sure about it.☕

silentbear49 said:What a way to start. Total carnage. A massive collision between the Race Winner and David Coulthard—absolute legend stuff. Honestly, watching them go at it over the radio, you’d think they were one step away from a full-blown brawl in the pits. That would have really completed the picture.
What a boring season this is going to be without DC. 😢

I'm with you on that.😢 They really ought to stick him in a seat with either Fernando Alonso or Lewis Hamilton.😈 Well, let's see who actually walks the walk.😁 There wouldn't be any tabloid drama if DC Comics could just focus on being a solid teammate on the track without all the noise.🤣 Whether they're in a box or whatever, it doesn't really matter. It would've been a once-in-a-lifetime show, period.😍

20 10 Mark Webber Red Bull Racing 1:51.640 3.186

Anything can happen, and Kimi is once again totally off the pace. Honestly, I'm just worried about how much Red Bull Racing seems to be falling off👎 It looks to me like they completely screwed over Vettel, and right now, Toro Rosso actually feels better than Red Bull Racing—unless that famous KERS gives them a massive boost next year, or if they finally swap out the engine🙄 because this Renault is clearly in deep trouble🙄
