The start and the first lap have been making up like 30%—sometimes even more—of the entire race excitement for ages now. What kind of start is that under an SC? Real drivers show their grit when things actually get messy.😬 A start under an SC during a race like this is just plain nonsensical.🤷 If you can't even get a clean, safe start, then you clearly shouldn't be out there driving at all.☕

Why are you even stressing about whether the Ferrari KERS is going to hold up?🤣

hollowhawk412 said:That’s just bad luck. If you can even call it that...

By then they’d already built up a decent lead, so I think they jumped straight into the pits for tires before the pack could bunch up. Fernando Alonso made it look easy, and honestly, if it had started raining, he would've absolutely smoked those heavier cars. Believe me, he would've pulled away by 10 or 12 laps.
He'd have had a massive advantage, but he probably would've ended up stuck behind two Ross Brawn cars once everyone hit the pits. Might even have edged out Rubens Barrichello, if we're being optimistic. But when? Who knows.

It’s just one of those unpredictable things... you never know when someone’s gonna come out of nowhere and slam into you.

As for that start and how long they dragged out the Safety Car... honestly, it could’ve been over way sooner. It was just a human error call. Simple as that.

I was just saying it’s pretty pointless...

Renault actually admitted they only pitted because they thought the Safety Car was going to hang around for another 10 or 15 laps. If they’d known it was coming back out the very next lap, they wouldn't have bothered at all.

Look, that's just how it goes. You win some, you lose some. 😬

Remember that absolute genius strategy from Renault? You know, the one where they basically sent Nelson Piquet straight into a wall. 😬 Alonso in the pits.😁And there you have it—Fernando Alonso back on the podium.😁

Just kidding, obviously...👍

🤣 Pale as a ghost and blonde as a Barbie 😬 so basically 🤣

Me, a racist? 🤣First off, I actually prefer Lewis Hamilton as a driver over Mass, and even over Fernando Alonso, so you can forget that theory right now.😉

But seriously, yesterday was a massive letdown.☕

Look, Red Bull has the best-looking car on the grid. 😍 It sucks having to stare at those ugly-ass cars during the broadcast. 😬
China Trip - Shanghai (April 19, 2009) in Formula 1 ·
What are you actually trying to say? That Lewis Hamilton decided to stage a little masterclass by intentionally spinning out a few times, only to show off his insane skill by perfectly controlling the car every single time? Like he just glided right back onto the track without hitting a single curb or wall? You really think he was doing that on purpose? 🤷

Just try to remember some of the most pathetic pit stops 😬

David Coulthard is definitely at the top of that list 🙏 though Lewis Hamilton isn't far behind 🤣

And when it comes to exiting the pits 😬 we don't even need to debate it—Hamilton takes the gold, though Massa is a serious contender with that fuel hose incident 😬

All in all, > we basically got Piquet's dancer, Lewis Hamilton, and Nakajima. Because of them, I barely even saw Sebastian Vettel on the broadcast 😢

Arthur Doyle70 said:Once again, comparing Felipe Massa in a top-tier car (like at Indianapolis Motor Speedway) to Lewis Hamilton in a car with zero downforce...😉

So, we're comparing Heikki Kovalainen and Lewis Hamilton... Look, props to Kovalainen for even getting that car to the finish line, but since he was pulling basically the same results in the MP4/23, I'd say it doesn't matter what you put him in—he’s always going to be hovering around 5th place.😁.
Hamilton drove on the attack, way more aggressive than Heikki Kovalainen, plus there were grip factors involved... so yeah, those fancy overtakes and the whole show.🤣...By the way, I'm not saying he drove brilliantly or anything... just saying he dragged a slow car into points territory with a few really solid overtakes.🤷

A top-tier car that was a full lap behind the leader 😁 http://www.formula1.com/results/season/2008/795/

How then do you explain Kovalainen finishing 5th while Hamilton finished 6th, especially since Kovalainen actually overtook him once or twice on track, if I recall correctly?☕

Both Sutil and Sebastien Buemi managed to drag slow cars right up to the points; they just didn't have the luck.☕ If Sebastien Buemi hadn't slammed into Sebastian Vettel, he definitely would've been ahead of Rubens Barrichello, maybe even Button.

What "overtakes" are we talking about? Those moves by Kimi Räikkönen and Heikki Kovalainen (who also braked, wouldn't that be a "glory" moment?) 🤣 or did you see something else?😕

sorry Maria Nelson2, but no matter how much better Felipe Massa gets from season to season, Lewis Hamilton just seems to get worse.

He snagged one lucky championship against some seriously mediocre competition, and that'll be the end of it for his NASCAR career.☕

Arthur Doyle70 said:Look, man, I think you’re being way too dramatic here. 🤣🤣

Yesterday, Lewis Hamilton’s drive was basically a "circus act"😁 but he was fighting a car with zero downforce, and somehow managed to finish and grab points even in the rain. Add his aggressive style and how much he trashes those tires into the mix... yeah, just wow.
Comparing him to Felipe Massa is honestly a joke. What Massa did with a car that actually had decent grip compared to the MP4/24 is absurd. All this talk about "luck" this and "luck" that... give me a break, show some originality. 👍

Anyway, congrats on the Sebastian Vettel win and that Red Bull Racing 1-2 finish. 👍

Give me a break. Saying Hamilton drove well is 🤣 since he was actually worse than Massa at Indianapolis Motor Speedway 🤔—the race everyone laughed at after it ended. 😉

trivia question for you: how many times did Heikki Kovalainen spin out in that same car with the chronic lack of downforce? ☕
And of course, every fan loves to shout about how Lewis Hamilton is lightyears better than Kovalainen. ☕

rustystag7 said:Honestly? I don't get that logic at all...
I respect the take, but it just doesn't make sense and isn't realistic....

Look, there's a massive difference between disliking a driver and claiming they shouldn't even be on the grid.

Because let’s be real: Massa has been driving just as well as—if not better than—anyone else over the last couple of years.

In my book, you don't actually need to be a "natural" to be a top-tier, high-quality driver.
With Massa, I love how you can see him getting better year after year.

Sure, Massa might not have the raw talent of someone like Hamilton or Alonso; people call him a "trained" driver.

Whatever. He delivers on the track, and that's what matters.

It's not like he lacks skill or fails to show what he can do out there.

And hey, he didn't land that Ferrari seat by accident. I remember watching him in the Sauber with Heidfeld, and honestly, Nick is a seriously underrated driver. 🙏

Man, it's like looking at a guy like LeBron James—insanely talented, sure—but then you see players who are ten times less gifted end up being better simply because they live and breathe the game, know their flaws, and work tirelessly to fix them. Meanwhile, this guy just wastes his gift.🤷

I agree the logic is flawed, ☕but whose logic is it really? When fans start talking about their favorite player, 😬they're just biased. 😉Given how much effort he puts in, I'll tolerate him for now.🤣

rustystag7 said:Look, having a damn good engine doesn't mean squat if the thing is unreliable.👎

Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue what's actually going on with all these breakdowns. Is it mechanical stuff, electrical gremlins, or just the transmission giving up the ghost? Who knows.
Is this overkill? 👎

Everyone knows that "top-tier" reputation of Sony electronics. 😬

Or as the Germans would say:

Anthony Taylor10 said:you guys just forgot how many laps Massu and Lewis Hamilton actually completed
maybe that's where the difference in track limit penalties lies

Look, if anyone thinks Ferrari is trash and Massu is the worst driver on the grid, yeah, that’s me. 😉

Personally, I don't think he even deserves a seat in Formula 1.☕
Personally, I think Ferrari is just a sloppy, dishonest outfit.☕

But honestly, listening to people claim Hamilton drove better than Massu yesterday is just plain stupid. The only thing Hamilton drove better than was Piquet and Trullia čak. ☕

Even Nakaj was better than Hamilton, and him scoring points was nothing but pure luck. That's the truth. You're supposed to be able to control the car when you go off, but clearly, if you can't control the car, you don't stay on the track.☕ istina treba znat kontrolirat bolid kod izletanja,al ko zna kontrolirat bolid, taj ne izlječe sa staze☕

Kovalinen was consistently much slower than Hamilton, yet he tried his best to slow him down and still ended up ahead of him.🤣 What bigger indicator could you want than that?🤣

ironfalcon43 said:Felipe Massa is better than Lewis Hamilton. Period.😕😵

Sometimes you just need to get real and look at things objectively, regardless of who you're rooting for.😉

Let's be real:

Honestly, Felipe Massa was light years ahead of everyone else today. ☕ Count up all of Lewis Hamilton's spins and pirouettes, then give me the tally for Felipe Massa. ☕

Was it Mass's engine or his gearbox that gave out?😕 It’s got nothing to do with knowing how to handle the rain.☕

Honestly, that drive from Lewis Hamilton today? To grab those points, he must have had some of the most damn luck in all of Formula 1 history. Seriously. ☕

darkmarlin16 said:doesn't matter what anyone thinks about Sutil🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
he proved the doubters wrong. I always believed he was one of the best on the grid.

👍 Hands down the best today, in this order:

Sebastian Vettel
Sutil
Buemi
Mark Webber

Those two are absolute garbage.🙏 Sutil just has zero luck, and Buemi could've easily grabbed a podium if he hadn't trashed his car.😢
China Trip - Shanghai (April 19, 2009) in Formula 1 ·
Honestly, nothing beat watching him pull up with a full tank and overtake Button on track—and yeah, overtaking Button while he’s forced into the pits on the next lap🤣 that’s how you tell the difference between just a driver and a total DRIVER 🙏🙏🙏 All this waiting and nonsense... just floor it and show everyone who the real master is 🙏🙏🙏👍

darkmarlin16 said:Piquet was always the biggest problem on the grid. He just can't stop screwing things up.😁

Those mechanics are going to need therapy. Honestly, their backs are probably shot from hauling that front wing and nose around all day. It’s enough to drive anyone insane.🤣😂

I've been Vettel's biggest fan here in the States since race one, and I'll be riding for him until the very end 😍 🙏

That's what a real team and a real driver look like 🙏🙏🙏
