Gary Palmer8 said:who actually finished?

As good as it gets...
Ferrari is totally screwed. They completely blew their theoretical shot at the constructors' championship, and now Charles Leclerc is sitting in 3rd. ☕
wiredfalcon2 said:It’s actually insane how much luck Lewis gets with those SC periods.

If he wasn't driving for Ferrari, he wouldn't even be in the running.🙂
It isn't luck; he just has a top-tier crew behind him.☕
Jerry Gomez27 said:It’s official. Here was the Ferrari game plan:

Charles was supposed to give himself a slipstream at the start to jump ahead of Lewis, then hand the lead back to Charles after a few laps...

The only issue? Sebastian Vettel had such a killer start that he cleared Lewis within the first ten feet. He didn't even need the slipstream for Charles, let alone Lewis...
Charles Leclerc is a total jerk...

After this race, I actually like him even more than Fernando Alonso. 😍
Same goes for his manager and his old man, Jean Todt too. ☕

He’s a real fighter when it comes to crying on the team radio and whining about losing a position. 👍
But the second he needs to close the gap or make a move, he suddenly develops amnesia and disappears. 🤦
What an absolute joke of a driver, unable to even overtake Valtteri Bottas. 😵
Props to the guys in red.
They deserve it too... I’d take Hamilton over those strategic disasters from the Ferrari pit wall any day. ☕
mellowtiger83 said:It’s not about winning by a margin, whether it's multiple wins or just one. I was talking about streaks like 9-0 and stuff like that.

Here we go again...
In 2014, Rosberg had a 7-0 streak against Lewis Hamilton...
But sure, you totally forgot those little details and decided to just ignore them entirely. 🙂

And of course, you also "forgot" that Rosberg was—and stayed—just an average driver. Formula 1 has seen plenty of them. It's not like anyone actually thought he was a top-tier talent, let alone ranking him above guys like Valtteri Bottas, Felipe Massa, or Rubens Barrichello...
Instead, look at Charles Leclerc. He’s a top driver without question, and honestly, he looks significantly better than even the highly hyped Max Verstappen...
Sure, Vettel is struggling right now, but even so, this kid seems insanely fast. I’m not convinced Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, or Max would have any better luck driving alongside him.
In fact, I think he might actually smoke Alonso in qualifying by maybe 15-0, though he might lose a race here and there to him...
As for Lewis Hamilton and Max, they’d probably end up right where Vettel is, except they'd be throwing tantrums and screaming like spoiled brats.
ruggedcyclist56 said:It’s honestly impressive how much nonsense you can type out.

Lewis Hamilton has 244 starts with 81 wins.

Michael Schumacher has 308 starts with 91 wins.

Lewis Hamilton needs 62 more races to match Schumacher’s start count and catch his win total. You seriously think he won't grab another 11 wins if he sticks around for three more full seasons? Even if he just maintains his current career win percentage through 308 races, he’d end up with 102 wins.

What kind of "50 races per season" nonsense are you spouting when Hamilton is already outpacing Schumacher in win rate? Hamilton sits at 33.20%, while Schumacher was at 29.55%.

And it's not even that big of a flex...
compared to how delusional Lewis fans get.
Honestly, it’s pretty embarrassing for Lewis, not something to brag about, since in all those 244 starts, he was in a top-3 car at the very least.
Most of the time—and I mean most of the time—he was in the best car on the grid without a second thought.

Let's be real, Lewis had a car capable of not just winning or taking pole,
but absolutely dominating and grabbing a Grand Slam almost every single race from 2014 straight through the summer break this season. That’s 112 races in a row.☕

So go ahead, crunch your little statistics all you want...
If you factor in 2007/2008 and those stretches between 2009-2013 where McLaren was more than capable of winning, you easily hit at least 150 races in the fastest car on the grid.

Even now, when people suddenly claim the car is "slow," it’s still right up there with Ferrari and totally capable of winning.
It's not a Williams just because Lewis is crying about it.🙄

Interesting...
Vettel 8 vs Leclerc 5...

Keep in mind, Leclerc’s fastest mini-sectors usually happen coming out of slow corners—basically his acceleration. Vettel, on the other hand, grabs his on the straights and exiting high-speed turns.

Looks like the Ferrari setup is worlds apart.🤔
mellowtiger83 said:Right or wrong, you're making a point. Rosberg used to beat Hamilton pretty often in qualifying, but he wasn't even close to the level Leclerc is at right now!

Stop talking nonsense. I've told you this a hundred times already. 🙄

Rosberg actually smoked Hamilton in qualifying during the 2014 season, it just didn't help him much in the end...
In 2014, it was Rosberg with 11 poles vs Hamilton with 7, and 12 total wins vs 7...

As for Vettel and Leclerc, I think the ratio is around 8 vs 6 or maybe 9 vs 6...
We'll see how things look by the end of the season, but I doubt it'll be any worse than that 12 vs 7 split.

Gary Palmer8 said:start singing hymns so the Mercedes isn't the 5th fastest car on the grid...

Any old degree won't cut it...
Clearly you skipped math, and apparently English too. 😬

What kind of school are you at if it's such a secret? 🙂

Gary Palmer8 said:At this point, we can only bank on Lewis Hamilton's pure driving talent to snag the championship, since the car is sitting at 5th on the grid...

This is peak performance right here. Nothing else compares. 🙏🙏🙏🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
wiredfalcon2 said:Tib, I don't get why you even bother watching this sport if you think the whole thing is rigged.

Look, I'm not saying everything is rigged...
But I also don't buy that a team would hand over all their secrets to a driver stuck on a one-year deal. It’s not even about some "Number 2" role or petty bullying—it's more about protecting themselves so this guy doesn't leak anything to the competition or the FIA...

And look at Bottas. He's basically living on a "here today, gone tomorrow" contract. They aren't giving him anything long-term, which tells me he probably doesn't even have access to the good stuff.

It's the same deal Ricc likely faced during the second half of the season at Red Bull Racing when everyone knew he was headed to Renault...
mellowtiger83 said:Valtteri Bottas never had the race pace that Lewis Hamilton did.

Valtteri Bottas actually hits race pace levels similar to Lewis Hamilton quite often...
The thing is, for Bottas, that’s basically his absolute limit. For Lewis, it’s more like he’s running in some kind of "economy mode" where he’s just babysitting the tires, the car, the power unit, and whatever else, while still having plenty of juice left if he actually decides to floor it.

But here’s the real kicker: are their cars even identical? Are they using the exact same power units? Do they even have access to the same engine modes or software? We don't know if Bottas actually has the full power of that engine at his disposal or if he's being throttled.
Jason Campbell70 said:I actually wrote on another thread that Russell had better race pace than Leclerc at the start of the race.

Yeah, but he also had a better overall race pace than both Red Bull and Mercedes. 😍
Jason Campbell70 said:On lap 61 in Singapore, Leclerc was:
- faster than Lewis Hamilton in 36 of them
- faster than Valtteri Bottas in 35 of them

On lap 61 in Singapore, Vettel was:
- faster than Lewis Hamilton in 35 of them
- faster than Valtteri Bottas in 38 of them

Just look at that Mercedes race pace.

Now look at yours...
On lap 34, before he retired, Russell was:
- faster than Lewis Hamilton in 16 of them
- faster than Max Verstappen in 17 of them
- faster than Valtteri Bottas in 18 of them
- faster than Alexander Albon in 18 of them

So if that scary crash against the wall hadn't happened, we probably would've seen Williams scoring points, right?🙂 Maybe even on the podium.👋

And if Williams was clearly the second fastest team in terms of race pace in Singapore according to your math...😁
Then the only team with both drivers being almost as fast as Russell was Ferrari...

wiredfalcon2 said:Ferrari stepped up their game with qualifying and strategy, but Mercedes had the faster car in all three races.

What actually worries me is the possibility that Mercedes might just throw in the towel—maybe even on purpose...
Because if Ferrari gets their act together like they usually do, they might decide there’s zero reason to change anything for the 2020 car, since this one is already pretty much 🙂

The FIA and the fans aren't going to whine and demand massive rule changes, new tires, or bans on whatever else just because Mercedes is dominating. After all, the season turned out to be "exciting," right?

Bottom line: I can see us heading into 2020 with Ferrari looking like kings in testing, then Mercedes coming out swinging to snatch the title before the summer break, and then we're right back where we started...

The US Grand Prix is gonna bring us Torpedo Kvyat.👋🤣
