Brian Campbell36 said:Tibi, regarding Kimi—how do you explain such a massive performance gap between the two Ferrari cars?

Is it truly significant whether they are trailing far behind Mercedes (Kimi), or if the margin is actually quite slim during qualifying for Ferrari?🤔

The gap between the Ferrari drivers is probably looking something like this:
Hamilton 1:22.188
Vettel 1:22.456
- 0.268

Bottas 1:22.481
Kimi Räikkönen 1:23.033
- 0.552

(552+268)/2 = 0.410

Roughly half a second or less. But hey, that’s still a chunk when you consider Vettel put in a killer lap while Lewis had a rough one...
neonfox65 said:Why even pivot the topic like that? 🙂 It was a Renault... 🙂

Better than Ricciardo. You can bet your house that Hulk starts ahead of Ricciardo. ☕
Sebastian Vettel 🙏🙏🙏
Vettel is still way better, but hey, at least he actually has a shot now...
If they nail the starts and the race pace, this season could actually be decent. 🙂

The strategy was spot on!
Pascalino Giovinazzi 🙏 is clearly already driving like his life depends on it. 😳

Jolyon Palmer is an even bigger joke than Lance Stroll; honestly, being over 3 seconds slower than Hulk is just pathetic. 🤦

Red Bull obviously has some nasty suspension issues. They'll improve for sure, but seeing Max trailing Vettel by a full second is massive—I'm not even sure he can close that gap on his own...
neonfox65 said:🤦

Catch you guys after qualifying.

And how are you feeling about Ricco? 🙂

Seriously, your rooting is basically a curse for any driver. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Wait, qualifying starts at 7:00 AM, right?
Screw this EPG crap. Sky says 6:00, then they switch it up to 7:00. 😵
darkmarlin16 said:there might be something else going on behind the scenes

You mean how everything is basically the exact opposite now? 🤔
Back in the day, drivers were practically fighting in the streets just to get a seat at Sauber...
Now? Nobody even wants to touch them because they’re easily the slowest cars on the grid...

It sucks that they're that bad, but Pascal is acting really weird in all this...
Honestly, if Sauber has any shot at scoring points this season, it's right here at the US Grand Prix if everyone else's engines blow up or they just retire, plus their power units aren't even at full strength yet...
If they keep dragging around last year's engine, Sauber is just going to be in deeper and deeper trouble as the season goes on. It honestly baffles me why he isn't driving, especially since he probably knows this weekend is his best shot. The absolute worst-case scenario? Giovinazzi pulls off a decent result that Pascal couldn't hope to beat the entire rest of the season...
darkmarlin16 said:Red flag 😂 Stroll 🤣

Man, talk about bad luck—it’s the first and last time that damn right rear tire held up.

Not cool. 🙂
"Stroll" basically means a leisurely walk, yet here he is just cruising around on a motor... maybe we should actually see him try to take a stroll for once. 😁

Anyway...
Check out this site: https://www.hasstrollcrashedyet.com/

The whole page is dead. 😳

5 Nico Hulkenberg Renault 1:25.063 +1.683s 10
6 Daniel Ricciardo Red Bull Racing TAG Heuer 1:25.092 +1.712s 15
12 Max Verstappen Red Bull Racing TAG Heuer 1:26.269 +2.889s 7

hehehe, looks like another shipment of identical engines just arrived 😬🤣 🤣 🤣
Game on 🙂

RB is looking suspicious 🙂
It wasn't just Practice Session 3, it was the whole damn weekend. 😲
Pascal couldn't drive through qualifying or the race; they were basically praying for rain...

Honestly, I don't get how they're still dealing with these issues after ROC. 😵
It’s not all doom and gloom... though maybe it is 😬
Raymond Anderson4 said:I was expecting Meck to be the fastest car on the grid, but I didn't anticipate a gap this massive.
Being nearly half a second behind Meck tomorrow would be a total disaster for Ferrari. It’s such a huge failure that it makes me want to call for a complete overhaul of the technical team immediately.

Firing the technical staff would be the biggest mistake ever...
But honestly, that’s exactly what Ferrari might do, and then they'll just be back at square one again...
When you're dealing with such a dominant team, stability and time are everything. You can't just rush things and keep inventing "quick fixes" that aren't actually solutions. 🤦
It feels like that's the fatal flaw with the McLaren-Honda combo—Honda seems to be pivoting to a new concept every other week instead of finally picking a direction and actually refining it.
neonfox65 said:Tibi, what are you gonna do if Red Bull Racing ends up being faster than Ferrari again? 😁

God knows, I have zero clue. 🙂🙂
All I know for sure is I'm definitely not starting to root for Rich just because the Red Bull Racing car turns out better than the Ferrari...
https://thejudge13.com/2017/03/24/me...ull-forced-to/

Oh, great. So only Red Bull Racing gets banned from using that suspension setup...
I mean, it’s no shocker that they're struggling to keep up.

Meanwhile, Mercedes changed theirs just to be safe—didn't want to get hit with a post-race penalty...
But let's be real, they probably had it figured out long before this mess even started, so the tweak was easy.

Other than that...
https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/h...-wing-885516/?

Haas got ordered to ditch the T-wing, which isn't surprising since they're clearly feeling the heat right now...
Ferrari looks like they're in deep, deep trouble...
Honestly, they might even be slower than Red Bull right now. 🤦

Just watch the team principals' press conferences. 😳
Ariverbene was acting like a guy who completely screwed up and is desperately trying to explain himself to his boss, even though he knows he's about to get kicked to the curb and fired within ten minutes... he looked like he was on the verge of tears and couldn't sit still for a second.
I actually had this feeling watching him, like he was genuinely about to burst into tears right there in front of the cameras. 😵
And I highly doubt he’s that good of an actor, plus why would he bother?

I have no clue what's actually going on, but it feels like something nasty is brewing behind the scenes. 🤔
Man, I hope it's just Ariverbene getting sacked for some stupid reason or some personal stuff unrelated to the team, but it looks more like the fallout from yet another disastrous season...
mellowtiger83 said:As a Hamilton supporter, the last thing I want to see is Mercedes dominating yet again. Especially since there’s no Rosberg left to push him; I have zero interest in watching another one-man show. It's obvious Bottas isn't on Rosberg's level, and he never will be.

What we need is a competitive Vettel out there. This whole one-man show situation needs to end immediately.

Morning...
Bottas couldn't even hold his own against Massa, who was way past his prime, so what chance does he have against anyone actually serious?🤦
Honestly, if Pascal or Ocon were in the mix, they'd give Hamilton a much harder time than Bottas ever could. Bottas doesn't stand a chance.
It’s debatable whether Bottas could even beat Ferrari or Red Bull regardless of the car. Let's be real—if Toto Wolff wasn't pulling his strings, he wouldn't even be in a Mercedes...
jadeseal7 said:Los Angeles is honestly just one of those tracks that doesn't really reveal much about the cars' true potential.

True enough...
The only headache is that Los Angeles is a circuit where Ferrari and especially Red Bull tend to be faster than at other tracks, so they might actually stay closer to Mercedes than usual here. 😳
Kyle Edwards5 said:I don't get how Mercedes managed to pull even further ahead...
Logic dictates they had virtually zero room left to squeeze any more performance out of the engine side 🤔
Then you’ve got this total paradox where the Toro Rosso is actually showing better race pace than both Ferrari and Red Bull 🤔

Mercedes has some seriously bizarre pace right now. It honestly feels like they're sandbagging, at least during qualifying...
For some nonsensical reason, they're sitting just 0.5 seconds ahead of Ferrari in qualifying mode, yet they're nearly a full second faster in race trim. 😵

It looks to me like Red Bull is either hiding something or they completely botched their setup. 🤷
It's also incredibly weird that they're this far behind Ferrari while being so close in STR. There’s zero logic in them trailing Ferrari more than STR trails them in qualifying—and there's even less logic in STR having better race pace. 😵

I'm genuinely worried that once Mercedes actually decides to floor it in Q3, we're in for a disaster. Like, Hamilton might end up over a second ahead of everyone else. Sure, maybe Bottas catches up within a second as the season goes on, but the rest? Unlikely. 🙂

As for Ferrari and Red Bull, I don't see why they'd bother hiding their speed. From what I saw, they were both pushing it to the absolute limit. After all, Kimi and Max were flying off the track, which is a pretty clear sign they were going full throttle.
darkmarlin16 said:It looks totally expected—like, it's so predictably predictable that it couldn't possibly be any more expected than this.

But now there's one curveball...
The STR looks damn fast, maybe even catching up to the Red Bull...
Actually, Carlos Sainz's race pace was right up there with Ferrari's, maybe even better than Red Bull, which is pretty weird 🤔

If it wasn't some weird fuel load trick, it means Renault has improved drastically. If that's the case, it's bizarre that Red Bull is lagging this much...
And if Renault is actually stepping up, then Red Bull might actually hunt down Mercedes during the season...

The only thing I'm sure of is that Ferrari is screwed again. At this rate, Sergio is probably already in an ambulance on his way to the ER if it's true that they blew another hundred million this season instead of catching Mercedes...
vividlynx68 said:We’ve got maybe 24 hours of hope left for this season—though, frankly, things aren't looking great right now. 🤷

It's basically over...
Right now, it looks like a repeat of 2015. Mercedes is half a second ahead of Ferrari, Ferrari is 0.3-0.5 seconds ahead of Red Bull... everyone else is just stuck in the rearview mirror.

Hamilton would stroll into the title easier than ever...
Seems like Valtteri is so slow that Ferrari might actually give him a run for his money, but they won't touch Hamilton.
If Mercedes stays reliable, Hamilton could easily pull off a perfect 20/20 podium run and clean up wins all season.
