Go hit up an American forum then and write in English...
P.S. let me know how it went 🙂

Lewis Hamilton is absolutely flying in that Mercedes, clocking the fastest time of the day, but honestly, the Ferrari guys were looking seriously strong, especially when you look at their race pace.
That's basically the verdict after the first day of free practice at the Malaysian Grand Prix

🙂 Fernando Alonso. 🤣

You know, it actually hurts a little that I’m not a mod anymore...
I’d honestly love to ban you for at least 30 days just because your posts are constantly filled with that Italian nonsense. ☕
rowdyrider12 said:When Smedley strides up to the McLaren pit wall and, with such effortless speed, delivers that blunt message over the radio: "Fernando, Felipe is faster than you"... 🙂

That would be pretty 🤣🤣🤣

And man, how lucky would Massa have to be for Honda to actually show up with an engine way better than Mercedes, just leaving Alonso to eat his dust behind him...😢
darkmarlin16 said:It’s 8:00 and it should be, since they pushed the race start up by two hours this year, but there's nothing I can do about it at this point—I already told the mods this morning to fix it, but they've been MIA all day long.🙄

Shame on them, even the mods. They actually managed to screw up your post again. Seriously?
Honestly, I don't know how they have the nerve to keep posting on behalf of darkmarlin16 when they're getting everything wrong. It's embarrassing. 🙂
rowdyrider12 said:So what does that mean in terms of extra torque?

It's possible there's some trickery going on with the pressure maps or just straight-up messing around with fuel flow. 😁
I honestly have no clue, but it seriously caught me off guard how much he was getting gapped in the DRS zone, especially since they were pulling practically identical top speeds on the telemetry...
I’m betting Sebastian Vettel stays within 10 seconds of Nico Rosberg 🙂

Obviously right behind him 😍
F... 🙂😱 F.... 🙂😱
😬🤣

Red Bull used to win championships with cars that were consistently the slowest on the speed trap, sometimes trailing by as much as 12 milesmph.

It’s not that Ferrari has a worse speed trap; they're actually within a mile per hour or so...
But it's obvious Williams has way better acceleration and hits that top speed much sooner 😉
Looks like this season's cars are so tightly packed after all those aero tweaks that overtaking feels impossible... everyone’s been struggling with it, literally every single driver, even Sergio Perez with that weak Honda engine...
So it makes you wonder how much reason Hamilton actually had to be "scared" of Rosberg...

Anyway, regarding the whole Ferrari vs. Williams dynamic, there’s one thing that doesn't look great for Ferrari.
Basically, Sebastian Vettel was catching Felipe Massa easily outside the DRS zone, but once he hit the DRS zone, even the Williams would pull away from him—and that’s without even using DRS 😢
So regardless of having the faster car, he still couldn't do a damn thing about it...
But then again, he absolutely had to stay ahead of Felipe Massa, because based on this, I think Massa could have easily overtaken the Ferrari in the DRS zone...
Now, whether the same thing applies to Mercedes, I honestly have no clue. Maybe it isn't just about the Power Unit, since Sergio Perez struggled with the Honda too, even though he shouldn't have had issues even if he were running a Renault engine 🤔
Michael Jackson10 said:Nice analysis, if you can even call it that...
The problem is you're working with a totally arbitrary variable here:
You claim "Sebastian Vettel had no reason to go on a tear of fast laps after lap 30..."
And based on that, you're deciding Lewis Hamilton isn't actually that untouchable. Look, sure, some chaos will happen during the season, but why on earth would Mercedes or Hamilton bother smashing lap records when they're already cruising to a win?
According to this logic, Hamilton was driving at his absolute limit, while Sebastian just didn't feel like trying because he was already behind, so he just showed off a little bit instead.

Lewis Hamilton probably wasn't even at his max either, but he was definitely driving at Nico Rosberg's max. 😉
I mean, Rosberg spent the whole time chasing him. It's a different story entirely that he was controlling the race like Sebastian Vettel and Felipe Massa...
How much faster Lewis Hamilton can actually go is anyone's guess, but we know for certain that Rosberg can't go any faster than this. 😁
Therefore, expect Ferrari to dump Rosberg from Second Place pretty soon if nothing else happens...
There's one more thing...
It feels like after these first four races, almost everyone had to choose between the soft and supersoft compounds. 😁
Looks like Goodyear really messed up the tire situation... I recall last year in Los Angeles it was a soft/medium choice, but nobody besides a single Sauber 🤔 went with just one pitstop. This year? Almost everyone did.
Kimi, Hulk, and I think Ericsson were doing their own thing with the tires under the SC, so maybe he even pitted three times... but everyone else stuck to one stop without any tire issues at all.

So, it seems the tires are lasting even better than last year, which is definitely going to lead to people leaning heavily on the supersofts.
And that’s where Germany could face a massive deficit. 😁
Basically, they haven't even completed a single lap on the SS. As far as I know, they haven't used them in a single test, and that could really screw them over in future GP weekends...
Interesting stuff...
Hamilton vs Vettel comparison...

Vettel spent the first 21 laps stuck behind Massa, which means he was basically driving at Massa's pace... and that cost him 17 seconds compared to Hamilton.
As soon as Massa cleared out, Vettel could finally floor it. He managed to shave 3 seconds off Hamilton's lead in just 8 laps. On top of that, they both hit the pits, where the Mercedes crew was about half a second faster than Ferrari...
Then, from lap 30 onwards, Vettel was basically just managing the gap to Massa. Massa was about 4 seconds behind him at lap 30 and held that position all the way to the final lap, where Vettel dropped off again with a noticeably slower lap (about 2 seconds slower than his pace ten laps earlier)...

So, the actual gap between Hamilton and Vettel from lap 21 to 57 is only 15 seconds. That’s really not as massive as it looks, especially since Vettel had zero reason to push for fast laps after lap 30...
Basically, he lost more ground in those first twenty laps than he did from lap 21 until the finish line....
During those 36 laps where Vettel wasn't babysitting Massa, his average deficit to Hamilton was only about 0.4 seconds per lap...
So, when Toto Wolff says Ferrari might actually catch them during the season, it doesn't sound crazy. Vettel wasn't actually as far behind as it seems at first glance. 🤔
darkmarlin16 said:not sure how this involves me?

You're involved because you're young...
This guy claims younger generations don't care about F1 at all—that kids won't even sit through a full race..
And from what I can tell, you aren't exactly a teenager anymore, though you're probably in your early twenties...
Plus, let's be real, you aren't the type to skip a single race. In fact, I'd bet you haven't missed one in the last 7 or 8 seasons... and it's not just the races, you're watching qualifying, FP1, FP2, FP3...

So yeah, you're the perfect example proving his "everything is doomed" theory wrong.🙂
Michael Jackson10 said:I don't know a single teenager in my life who actually digs F1, let alone someone who’s sat through an entire race from start to finish..

Then you clearly haven't met darkmarlin16, rowdyrider12, or dmw 😁
I actually know kids in real life who are more obsessed with F1 than most of the crowd on here 😬
And just look at this kid...he’s out here watching even the practice sessions 😉
Last year, Williams was basically the only team actually giving Mercedes a run for their money.
Red Bull’s wins were really just a byproduct of Mercedes having mechanical failures and Williams being, well, Williams, but man, that Williams car had some serious pace...
I mean, they weren't kidding around when they locked out the front row at the US Grand Prix, only to end up finishing 3rd and 4th.🤦
Tyler Bennett5 said:I can't make any promises about how this season will unfold.
So, you want me to list all the names that actually upgraded the FW36 last year?
Or are you going to claim every other team just stopped developing after the USA GP and only Williams kept pushing, which is why they were hitting podiums consistently by mid-season?

Yeah, right. Like Williams was the only one upgrading—it was mostly just the upgrades living inside their drivers' heads...
The amount of massive opportunities Bottas and Massa blew during the first half of the season wasn't because the car was slow; it was because the drivers were weak.
Let's be real: Williams fell off in the second half of last year, but they finally started delivering the results that car actually deserved...
Actually, pretty interesting...
If it weren't for Manor/Marussie Sauber, he would've actually been ahead of Williams 😁.
Think about it—if they hadn't shown up in the USA, four cars wouldn't have been knocked out in Q1, it would've just been three plus those two from Manor... and that fourth guy would've been Nasr 😁.
That means he would've started in 15th, basically right in front of Ericsson
.
So yeah, that's what happens when you bring a Ferrari upgrade 🤣.
Tyler Bennett5 said:I don't get why anyone thinks Ferrari would ditch someone after 5 or 6 races if they weren't already gone by the first one.
Are you seriously banking on their upgrades actually working this season? Meanwhile, Williams will probably trip over their own feet every time they try to improve.

Ferrari is mainly looking at a PU upgrade... plus a mountain of other updates.
Williams likely won't see any PU upgrades unless Bear dumped some junk version on them and they finally get the real deal after five races. 😁
As for everything else? They definitely don't have the budget to keep pace with Ferrari, McLaren, or Red Bull.
But honestly, they just lack the guts. It doesn't matter how much you upgrade the PU or the car; they'll be perfectly happy settling for 5th or 6th in the race and 3rd in the constructors' standings.
Tyler Bennett5 said:Don't forget Felipe Massa lost out on all of Free Practice 2, which was their chance to actually study
how those tires wear during the race. Too bad Valtteri Bottas wasn't there to make it a real two-on-two fight.

True enough...
But I bet Bottas would've cruised through that too. It looked easy enough, even with the absolute chaos happening in the Ferrari pit box...
Plus, let's be real, Bottas would've been trailing both Ferraria cars anyway if he'd actually started the race...
Tyler Bennett5 said:Felipe Massa was slower than Sebastian Vettel, so the plan was obviously to pit him first. The idea was to nail a fast lap on fresh rubber and jump ahead. But Massa couldn't pull it off—he failed to pass Ricciard, and just like that, his podium chance went down the drain. At least, that's the gist of how James Vowles explained it:

Honestly, he blew it before he even got near Ricciard...
Vettel came out with over a second on him, and Vettel's pit stop was nearly a full second faster than Massinog's 😉
So regardless of Ricciard, Massa still wouldn't have beaten Vettel...

He messed up because Vettel was setting laps faster than Mercedes the moment Massa pitted. Plus, even on fresh tires (before reaching Ricciard), Massa was still slower than Vettel...

Ferrari definitely has a much better race pace than Williams Racing. Their only issue is that their top speed under DRS isn't high enough to actually make a move on track.
But they manage their tires better than Williams, and I have a feeling we’re going to see this exact same pattern over and over...
Williams looks great in qualifying, but then both Ferrarias just cruise right past them through the pit cycles or during that final stint...
Check out these leaked radio clips from the 2015 season. It’s basically a masterclass in how not to talk to your engineer when everything is going sideways. Some of these guys have zero filter once the helmet goes on. Honestly, watching the chaos unfold through their headsets makes the actual race feel like a calm Sunday brunch. Just pure, unadulterated driver meltdown material. Enjoy the madness.

Felipe Massa to Williams Racing.
Front-left degradation is killing them.

And that’s exactly why Massinog jumped into the ring way too early.
So, Williams Racing might just shred through their tires. It’s going to be a wild ride in the upcoming races...

L46 Driver Audio Clip - Sebastian Vettel 😕
Anish George breaks down the whole situation with Sebastian Vettel. Just listen to it.

What the hell? Why on earth would they tell Vettel to pit in lap 46? 😵
Besides, that isn't even Sebastian Vettel's voice, and according to the link Anish George posted, it wasn't his engineer either. 😵
