Zaba fan possibilities in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
So, I've got a dynamic fan setup going on. This might be a pretty silly question, but bear with me. If I move a larger chunk of cash from my checking account over to my savings account, am I going to get hit with any fees? Thanks!
Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
So, back in July, I went to see a specialist privately. He gave me a three-month prescription and basically told me to just swing by again once it runs out. Apparently, they’ve tightened up all the regulations lately, so this is their way of keeping tabs on things—making sure the pills are actually working for us and not causing issues.
I’m really curious to hear from any girls who have tried both oral contraceptives and that vaginal ring. Like, what’s the actual deal? 🙂 So, basically, after taking a year and a half break, I started back on the pill—specifically Qlaira. I’ve only been at it for about a month, but honestly, it’s enough to notice that my hair is thinning out way more than usual, and I feel like I’m holding onto way more water weight. Even though the scale hasn't actually moved up, the bloating is real. Plus, my period used to be totally normal, but now it’s just this super light spotting. Anyway, I was thinking about ditching the pills and switching to the ring instead. My gynecologist actually suggested it during my last check-up, saying it’s easier to manage and since the hormones don't hit the liver quite as hard, it’s a healthier route to take. I’m wondering if the side effects I’m dealing with right now would be less intense with the ring? If anyone has any insight, I’m all ears! Thanks! 🙂
Chase Mastercard Standard card in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Alright, so here's the thing—if I don't have one of those specific plans where I've already set up an installment plan with my Visa Mastercard, can I still just walk into a store that offers Maestro-style installments and pay in chunks? 🙂 Has anyone actually pulled that off before?
Chase Mastercard Standard card in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Hey everyone, quick question for the group. I’m currently on one of those older, basic account setups with just a standard Visa Mastercard. My current plan doesn't specifically include an option for installment payments, but I was wondering—if I'm at a shop that explicitly advertises "buy now, pay later" or installment plans via Mastercard, can I actually use my card for that even without a special banking package? Like, if the store itself offers the option for Chase cards, does it work regardless of my specific bank tier? Has anyone actually pulled this off before? Or am I stuck having to call my bank and upgrade my whole service package just to get that feature? 🙂Thanks a bunch!

Honestly, I stopped printing out statements ages ago; I just swing by a Zabka kiosk whenever I need to check my balance. Now I just need to figure out what the credit card situation looks like—like if I'll be stuck paying $50 full membership fees or whatever else they tack on. If the math checks out, I'll grab it, but man, I really hope they don't hike up the fees right after I sign up. $6.75 I can deal with a little extra cost for now, but 🙄

edit - I've been scrolling through the Zabka website, trying to weigh these different payment assistant options against

And here's what I'm seeing: for the cheapest tier, it says: "5 free USD payments via online or mobile banking and standing orders; digital bill presentation via online or mobile banking,"

for the mid-tier one, it lists: "5 free USD payments via the channels included in the Payment Assistant plus standing orders; 2 free in-branch transactions,"

but for the premium one, they say: "5 free USD payments via the channels included in the Payment Assistant plus standing orders; 5 free in-branch transactions"

Does that mean with the basic plan for $6.75 I won't have any free ways to handle things at a physical branch? Like, if I actually show up with a paper bill at the teller window to pay something, I'm out of luck? It sounds like everything has to be through net banking or an app... if that's the case, it's kind of a bummer... at least for me.

I was hoping to get some thoughts or maybe hear about your experiences with this... I’m currently on that old "all-in-one" package one, where I pay $6.75 every month. Everything I actually use is tucked in there, plus the main perks are that I don't have any sign-up fees on my debit card and my annual fee is basically half off—meaning I only shell out $25 a year for it. I'm seriously considering swapping it for a premium checking account that costs about the same in monthly fees. With that switch, I’d get five free transactions a month, the ability to pay in installments with my debit card, online banking, and so on... but here's the kicker: I'm not really sure what happens to my credit card situation. I'm assuming I'd end up paying the full standard fee for it? 🤷 Could someone please shed some light on this for me? I've already decided against getting a Zaba flyer; they're way too pricey for what you actually get. My current setup feels expensive enough as it is, but still...
JP Morgan Chase - overdraft limits and fees in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
I don't touch my overdraft, thank God (JPMorgan Chase), and honestly, I don't plan on touching it unless things get so desperate I can barely afford to eat. Dealing with interest rates on an overdraft just stresses me out too much. They seem to bump up my limit by $33 every 6 months or so. 🤣 At first, I was kind of confused why they were being so stingy with it, since I make a decent salary and don't even use the damn thing. But then it clicked—I’m basically a terrible customer for them. I’m not making them any money, so why would they give me more credit? If they want to just cancel it entirely, honestly, go for it. ☕
Which bank should I choose for a new account? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
I’ve got everything moved over to Chase, which I did after switching from Wells Fargo because I was dealing with a mortgage there. I’m still hanging onto that old Package 1 setup, $6.75 is what my monthly fee ends up being, and honestly, I don't really use much besides my Mastercard. Because of that specific package, I don't have to deal with membership fees and my annual fee is basically cut in half ($25 is what that looks like annually). I also have a Visa debit account in foreign currency, though I hardly ever touch it. I actually closed out my standard checking account because it drove me crazy—they wouldn't give me a real card for the ATM, just one of those flimsy paper ones, and I really can't be bothered to trek down to a teller just to move a few bucks around. All in all, it’s fine, but there is zero chance I'm switching to any kind of lepeza. It’s just way too pricey. For now, I can manage just fine running the errand between the local ATM and the CVS kiosk.

I'm with you on that.

To claim that a university course is fundamentally flawed simply because the syllabus spans over a thousand pages of material is absurd. Is volume truly an indicator of quality? One must wonder if we are measuring intellectual depth or merely the capacity to endure endless paperwork.🙄👎

You could have a million pages of exam notes and still come up empty. Does it actually matter? I would have to agree with you; unfortunately, most universities here structure their entire curriculum around this exact issue.

Let’s be realistic for a moment. Just look at how many lawyers and economists graduate from universities here every single year. Then, take a hard look at the actual state of our legal and economic systems. The connection should be obvious, shouldn't it?

It’s not even about the sheer volume of pages in a textbook or the number of people getting degrees. It’s about the fundamentally broken approach to education and the massive lack of hands-on experience. That gap in practical knowledge leads to a whole generation of lawyers and economists who don't actually know how things work in the real world. When you mix that with corruption and that classic "I don't want to work, but I definitely want to get paid" attitude, you end up with the mess we're seeing today.

Quick question about credit cards in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Yeah, I’m definitely going to stick with my Maestro debit card since that's where my paycheck lands. Honestly, I mostly use Mastercard as a backup; I much prefer just tapping my debit card because the money leaves my account immediately, and then I don't have to stress about it. I'll just pull out the Mastercard if a place doesn't take Maestro, but I was always a little paranoid that if my foreign currency account was empty, the transaction wouldn't go through or it wouldn't just pull from my main US checking account. I don't know, I've always had this weird anxiety about paying for things while traveling. But okay, now that I know I'm good to go, I can use the Mastercard and it'll just draw from my regular account without any drama. I'll probably just ignore the foreign currency account entirely. Thanks so much for the heads-up! 🙂
Quick question about credit cards in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Hey everyone, just a quick question for the group. I’ve got this standard Mastercard—you know, the kind with the grace period where you can just carry a balance—and I was wondering if anyone’s ever run into issues using it while traveling abroad? Since the charges hit my foreign currency account, and honestly, I’m feeling pretty lazy about manually transferring funds from my main USD checking account to a separate travel account before every trip, I was thinking of just letting the transactions pull directly from my regular domestic account. Is there any risk of getting hit with weird fees or anything else that might eat into my budget? Thanks!
