Ashley Wright51 said:What are you guys even getting worked up about? Honestly, Peter Clark6 can't wait to jump into some pointless argument just for the sake of it. Look—I don't know you, Peter Clark6, not even a little bit—but based on what you've been typing here, you're a real piece of work. Really unpleasant guy.. I’ve always had a negative take on dogs. Honestly—they aren't my thing. They can be unpredictable, loud, and frankly, a lot of work for very little payoff. I prefer a quieter life without the constant barking or the mess. It’s just not for me. (it's your absolute right,) You're making some nasty insinuations about how I feel about dogs.Look, you have some fixed ideas. How should dogs behave? It’s a simple question, but people get worked up about it. Honestly—it comes down to training and consistency. If you aren't setting boundaries from day one, don't act surprised when your dog starts running wild in the middle of a Starbucks. They need structure. Period.Look, you can walk in there with those ideas on some PDF meant for animal lovers, and then what? You just end up... What the hell are you talking about? What's the big deal?

And then there's those thinly veiled comments about how you're just interested from a sociological standpoint—trying so hard to "understand us."

Dammit, man. You know—So, what happens when it feels like the whole damn world is ganging up on you?Maybe take a second to pause—just ask what the actual issue is and actually think about it? It’s highly unlikely that everyone else has lost their minds at once, just so you can play Zorro and pretend you're the only one enlightened enough to open everyone else's eyes.

Had a bad run with dogs? Then just move on, man. From KLJ—don't be a masochist.

I’m not being difficult—seriously. I was just standing there on the beach, staring out at the ocean, scrolling through my phone. A little distance behind me, two pensioners were walking a dog. Suddenly, something sharp stings me and jolts my leg. Because I jumped so abruptly, the dog actually slipped right out of its leash. One of the pensioners yells, "Bad boy, come here!" I look down, blood is literally dripping from my shin into my shoe, and I'm thinking, *what now?* The old folks just shrug it off like, "It’s just a scratch, and don't worry, the dog is vaccinated." If I were actually a troublemaker, I would've called the cops and dragged them into court—or, much faster, I would've handed them both a slap and tossed the dog into the bushes.

I’m not going to make any nasty insinuations about how people treat their dogs. Dog owners love to make those bitter little comments about attitudes toward pets, and honestly, YouTube is absolutely flooded with amateur clips of dogs in beds, dogs with kids, and all that other stuff. I won't bother posting links—I don't want anyone accusing me of "alluding" to anything. Just go find them yourselves.
I laid out ten specific points at the start of this thread—the same ones that got us shut down earlier. I was just pulling from that one YouTube video where the creator lists ten different everyday scenarios instead of just focusing on owning a dog. It’s not my own invention; it's a direct quote used to kick off the discussion.

Look, I don’t have anything against dogs—really, I don't. But I shouldn't be forced to take a detour just to get to the corner store because five different owners decided to congregate on one sidewalk with ten dogs. It’s ridiculous. You've got some owners laughing while their pets jump all over you trying to snatch a bag of groceries, others shouting at nothing, and then there are the ones unsuccessfully trying to bribe their dogs with human food—like "Fifi, it’s not breakfast time!" or "Come on, leave the man alone, Fifi, stop being so naughty, get over here." Then they start apologizing for the mud—"Sorry, he got you dirty, I told him not to walk through the muck"—as if that makes it better. If I actually hated dogs, I’d be calling the local code enforcement officer, filing formal complaints as a witness to public disturbances, and calling the cops to ID the troublemakers just so I could film everything for a court case. Or, I’d just grab a stick and clear my own path through my own neighborhood. That’s about it.

Dogs need to be kept under control so they aren't a nuisance—just like how people handle horses. The only exceptions are working dogs and service animals for the blind.

The "whole world" hasn't conspired against me—I talk to my handlers face-to-face without any issues—but clearly, something went sideways on this forum. It always comes down to money, as far as I'm concerned, but I won't dwell on that. My love for animals outweighs any interest in cash, no matter the price tag.
-------------

Here’s an example—I state my opinion and immediately get banned. You people show up to the politics board acting like experts when nobody even asked for your input, yet when it comes to the pets section, nobody can contribute a single useful thing.

We need to mandate a standardized kit for cleaning and disinfecting—get them into production and onto store shelves immediately. Also, we should start fining anyone caught walking their dog without proper gear (since right now, most people just use a flimsy plastic bag)

Standardized dog walking gear:

A 4-foot leash with a sturdy handle
A carrying bag
A muzzle
Waste bags
Disposable gloves
Wet wipes
A small broom and dustpan
Disinfectant spray for the spot
Usage instructions
--------

Between the new pet tax and these fines, our streets will actually look decent. The dogs will be happier, owners will act more civilized, and even people without pets might actually want to hang out with them

Elizabeth Davis said:I was being sarcastic. This is a forum—an apology after someone tries to make a fool out of me (though they fail 🥳) means exactly nothing to me. 😁

Look, it doesn't matter if some guy from the sticks is training his dog for this or that—he can train him. But you ruled that out entirely with your statement in the post. You’re implying the handler is some city slicker, and you've used that term condescendingly plenty of times before. Don't make me dig through your old posts again; I'm already over it. 😁

The term "handler" is being used snobbishly... (I copy all my own posts just to have them since they get deleted on here; apparently, a "handler" is someone who actually treats their dog like family) and I'm pretty sure that's one of the reasons my posts get wiped, why I get accused of trolling or being insulting, why I get banned with a huge fuss, or why my threads get locked... Now you're going to claim I'm insulting people living in rural areas just because I call them hillbillies—as if their dogs live on a chain instead of in a house or a fifth-floor apartment.
I am genuinely trying to understand you guys.

Elizabeth Davis said:Alright, let's get to work. I'll stick to my style—short, blunt, and no fluff. Just give me the source material and I'll handle the rest. Expect directness and zero wasted breath. My apologies.!!

Dog taxes—just one more outcome of this mess. I don't care about the drama—it’s just noise. People love to argue over nothing while ignoring the actual point. Honestly, I've seen this exact same pattern play out in dozens of different threads before. It's predictable. If you want to actually discuss the theme, fine, but let's not waste time on petty grievances. Just get to the point.

Look, this is just one post from the thread—and it’s pretty obvious you weren't actually aiming that at Sash. If we were talking about a mere sheepdog, then sure, any rancher could be the guy—some folks out in rural Montana train their dogs for all sorts of things, like guarding the homestead or keeping an eye on the livestock. It's not the same thing.

You're the one who needs to come clean first. And as for those rural types—the folks living out in the sticks, if that isn't clear enough—most of them just have a dog on a chain. Or, if they actually bothered to put up a decent fence around the yard, you’ve got that one dog barking incessantly at the gate, only to bolt after cars and bikers the second they get a chance. They claim they're "training" the dog to guard the house... yeah, right. That’s one hell of a training method. 🤷

hollowtrucker77 said:dog handler isn't even a real word

Honestly, I got "hooked" by this one huge fan of dogs—you know, mutts, pups, whatever you want to call them.
She throws so many weird slang terms my way that I’ve actually started repeating her nonsense.

The proper term would be DOG HANDLER or just a simple canine specialist derived from the word dog; basically, it's just what you call someone who owns a trained dog, whether they did the training themselves or not. I really don't see how that's supposed to be an insult.

I started this thread about women and dogs thinking I’d get some guys to jump into the debate. Instead, I just got a wave of backlash from women—I know exactly why that happened, but I’m curious if you all see it too.
N/A is using a weird hybrid dialect to write an American dog guide. Since you’re out here talking about the entire NFL—I could easily argue that’s an insult to football.

There’s nothing fake or controversial about what I said. I specifically wrote SOME dog owners—and I’m talking about the actual people I’ve run into in person. I’ve dealt with owners whose dogs were barking at everyone passing by, while the owners themselves were just standing there shouting "BRAVO" like it was some kind of show. Then you’ve got the ones who block the entire sidewalk so you can't get through, forcing me to trek through the mud just because their dogs were jumping all over my grocery bags, or making me take a long detour down another street entirely... One guy's dog even bit my leg out of nowhere while I was on my phone. The owner didn't even bother to check under my pant leg to see blood dripping onto my shoe; he just brushed it off as a "minor scratch." Do I really need to give more examples?

Elizabeth Davis said:You’re really obsessed with dogs, aren't you? What, did someone mistreat you when you were a kid? 🙄

The whole damn time you've been trolling the dog tax thread—getting banned a few times, too—and your big argument was basically "dogs are gross. dogs poop. yuck. dogs bite. ew." It's honestly kindergarten level stuff. I don't think you just missed the point—you completely whiffed it on this topic, regardless of where you posted it. Honestly, a moderator would have to be insane to leave an insulting thread like yours unlocked.
The Pets forum shouldn't be a playground for people who think we should just poison all dogs. ☕

Look, just because you banned me for not singing your little tune doesn't mean we haven't learned anything about how to actually communicate, right?
I am not putting words in anyone else's mouth, nor am I insulting anyone—including dogs (if you can even call it an insult, since I view dogs as domestic animals).
And did I actually write that dogs should be poisoned?

Give me an answer or just apologize.

Donna Castillo38 said:This whole thing is just trolling. It’s not like this is your first time venting hate about dogs in a space where it doesn't belong. Like melloworca6 mentioned, you can take that energy elsewhere—this forum section is specifically for animal lovers.

Where exactly is the hate in this thread?
http://www.exampleforum.com/showthread.php?t=769853

And suggesting I move this discussion over to the Men's or Women's corner—are you guys actually sure about that recommendation? 😂

Bottom line: I’m asking you to unlock this thread.

I started this thread, and they wouldn't even engage with the initial question. Instead, they just mocked me and shut the whole thing down—which pretty much proves how much they actually have to contribute to a conversation. If any of the mods happen to see this—please reopen the thread so these geniuses can continue showing off their intellect. I can deal with them. Best, cheers.

Unfortunately, here in the States, people tend to get bogged down in those identity politics first.
Take the Germans, for example. Throughout their various wars, they made a point of preserving fine art, regardless of who actually owned it.

Give me a break... back in '41, the Germans just gave a little preliminary bombing run on New York to get the Americans to surrender faster so they wouldn't end up looting their own cities.😍
