Honestly, I’m hesitant to even post anything over there—it feels like someone is always jumping down my throat or just locking the thread immediately!

Seriously, what’s the deal?

I started a thread yesterday about "dogs and paper products" and it got shut down instantly. Like, why?

If you guys could just point me toward a thread that isn't ancient history—one where the title actually makes it clear what I'm looking for—I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks a ton.

You’ve been sent a few links to existing threads (Mixed breed or purebred???, On breeders... and Before you get a dog... - essential reading for future owners), though I might also suggest adding Comments and suggestions regarding the "Before you get a dog" thread.
You chose to post under 'Mixed breed or purebred???' and received several replies.

If you can find a thread that isn't over ten years old—one where the title actually tells me exactly what I need—I'd be incredibly grateful.

Those are all fine threads to participate in; however, since we're discussing things like guarantees and health issues, perhaps we should look into some more specialized topics?

Man, I hesitate to even write anything there because someone always ends up banning me or locking the thread!!!

Well, what's the point then?

Yesterday I started a thread about "dogs with papers" and it was locked immediately—so what's the deal? Why does that happen?

Thanks, much appreciated.

I started this thread, and they wouldn't even engage with the initial question. Instead, they just mocked me and shut the whole thing down—which pretty much proves how much they actually have to contribute to a conversation. If any of the mods happen to see this—please reopen the thread so these geniuses can continue showing off their intellect. I can deal with them. Best, cheers.

By the way, you totally missed the mark on which sub this belongs in. Post this in either the men's or women's section instead.

By just mocking me and shutting the whole thing down, they really showed their true colors when it comes to actual conversation. If any of the moderators happen to see this, I'd love for the thread to be reopened so those users can continue demonstrating their supposed intellect. Honestly, I don't have the energy for them. All the best, cheers.

The whole thread feels like nothing but trolling. This isn't even the first time you've brought this kind of anti-dog sentiment to a space where it clearly doesn't belong. Like melloworca6 mentioned, you could always start a new discussion on a different forum; the local community board is meant for animal lovers.

Where exactly is the hate in this thread?
http://www.exampleforum.com/showthread.php?t=769853

And suggesting I move this discussion over to the Men's or Women's corner—are you guys actually sure about that recommendation? 😂

----------
Bottom line: I’m asking you to unlock this thread.

So, it clearly feels like someone has decided I’m either some kind of troll or just someone who writes in a way that doesn't fit the established consensus here
It would be genuinely helpful if someone could point out what exactly is wrong with my posts, why they keep getting deleted, and whether there’s any actual logic behind it all

Thanks in advance

starting this thread, per the suggestion, in either the men's or women's section—are you guys actually sure about what you wrote here? 😂

so, yeah, please just unlock the thread

you're really obsessing over dogs now? maybe someone messed with you when you were a kid or something?🙄

you spent the whole damn time trolling the dog tax thread (and got banned a few times too), and your big argument was basically "dogs are gross. dogs poop. yuck. dogs bite. ew," like, literal kindergarten level stuff. honestly, I don't think you just missed the point of the PDF, you missed the entire game regardless of where you post it. any mod would be crazy to unlock a thread as insulting as yours.
The Pets section shouldn't be a place for people who think dogs should be put down. ☕

It's honestly kindergarten level stuff. I don't think you just missed the point—you completely whiffed it on this topic, regardless of where you posted it. Honestly, a moderator would have to be insane to leave an insulting thread like yours unlocked.
The Pets forum shouldn't be a playground for people who think we should just poison all dogs. ☕

Look, just because you banned me for not singing your little tune doesn't mean we haven't learned anything about how to actually communicate, right?
I am not putting words in anyone else's mouth, nor am I insulting anyone—including dogs (if you can even call it an insult, since I view dogs as domestic animals).
And did I actually write that dogs should be poisoned?

Give me an answer or just apologize.

insulting dogs ->

A 75 to 100-pound dog can take down a 220-pound guy without breaking a sweat. I’ve seen it happen during training drills.
Kids usually end up being the ones getting mauled, left with permanent facial scars because dogs get territorial and cowardly when they go after an adult, unless they're unhinged and forced into it.

insulting owners ->

It just goes to show that dog owners and their pets basically have "VIP status" in our neighborhoods while paying next to nothing for it.
Implementing a dog tax would barely scratch the surface of the issues they cause for people and the environment, though it could help fund maintenance and fixes that are becoming pretty dire because some owners are so blinded by their role in the pack that it’s honestly bordering on a psychiatric issue.

Need more examples? If so, someone else can dig through your posts. I've read enough for one lifetime. This is just from the first page of three on that thread about the dog tax (it's locked, so I'm dropping links since I can't quote directly).

EDIT
And don't even get me started on how many pages were deleted from that thread.

There’s nothing fake or controversial about what I said. I specifically wrote SOME dog owners—and I’m talking about the actual people I’ve run into in person. I’ve dealt with owners whose dogs were barking at everyone passing by, while the owners themselves were just standing there shouting "BRAVO" like it was some kind of show. Then you’ve got the ones who block the entire sidewalk so you can't get through, forcing me to trek through the mud just because their dogs were jumping all over my grocery bags, or making me take a long detour down another street entirely... One guy's dog even bit my leg out of nowhere while I was on my phone. The owner didn't even bother to check under my pant leg to see blood dripping onto my shoe; he just brushed it off as a "minor scratch." Do I really need to give more examples?

Peter Clark6, you know exactly what you were dropping in there. You spent half your time calling everyone "those damn dog owners" and went on about how the mods were basically kissing up to their pets—which got nuked, if I remember right.
Look, I’m not about to go digging through your old posts myself, but I'll let someone else—specifically the Pet Forum mods—do the heavy lifting. Let them decide if someone with your attitude even deserves a seat at the table.

I started this thread about women and dogs thinking I’d get some guys to jump into the debate. Instead, I just got a wave of backlash from women—I know exactly why that happened, but I’m curious if you all see it too.
N/A is using a weird hybrid dialect to write an American dog guide. Since you’re out here talking about the entire NFL—I could easily argue that’s an insult to football.

Serbo-American? What kind of alternate universe are you living in if you think that’s even a thing? And honestly, why do you think the mods gave you a warning for using that term? It’s because you were clearly using it as a slur.

Your thread has zero future in a space meant for dog owners and enthusiasts because you keep pushing these half-baked theories. They really should have just left it unlocked so you could keep talking nonsense—just like your other threads where you try to prove how much you "love" and "care" about dogs 🥳
.
It's pretty obvious you can't tell the difference between insulting people and sports (🤦), so I'm done engaging with your provocations.

Anyway, thanks for the laugh 🤣🤣🤣

It’s all well and good for the moderators to lock threads—and honestly, I actually agree with them on this specific one—but it would be a huge help if they could just leave a quick note explaining why the thread was shut down.

I see so many threads floating around with just one or two posts—usually because they're duplicates or just belong in a different subforum—that get closed off without any context whatsoever. You know, people often stumble upon these through Google searches, so it would be really helpful if the mods could drop a link to the correct discussion or at least provide a brief reason for the closure. 😉

There was an explanation there, but now they’ve wiped out the second page and half of the first one. It was all right there just the other day, then poof—gone. The mods will probably tell you why if you ask.
All I can say is things were getting pretty heated, so I’m guessing that’s why they scrubbed it. Probably just to stop someone from taking it to the chat (or even over here 😬).

If you're referring to that thread about the poisoning incident...
The thread was wiped due to trolling, repetitive replies, and posts mentioning Hitler.
You still have plenty of other posts up, don't you?

You seriously think I should be jumping for joy just because some of my posts managed to stick around?
😁
But whatever, I'll take your answer for what it is. Peace.

hollowtrucker77 said:dog handler isn't even a real word

Honestly, I got "hooked" by this one huge fan of dogs—you know, mutts, pups, whatever you want to call them.
She throws so many weird slang terms my way that I’ve actually started repeating her nonsense.

The proper term would be DOG HANDLER or just a simple canine specialist derived from the word dog; basically, it's just what you call someone who owns a trained dog, whether they did the training themselves or not. I really don't see how that's supposed to be an insult.
