I haven't been around these forums for quite a while, which doesn't mean I haven't been keeping an eye on things. I just don't post very often... Dubravka, wishing you a speedy recovery and a quick return!
I have two specific questions regarding business formation. I am planning to establish an LLC that will remain inactive initially while I get certain projects off the ground. My first inquiry concerns the overhead costs associated with maintaining an inactive company. Secondly, is there a legal requirement to hire staff, or if I am the sole employee, am I still obligated to pay social security, healthcare, and other payroll taxes? It is worth noting that I am already employed elsewhere, where my employer handles all my tax contributions.
I appreciate any insights you can provide.
P.S. I am also looking for a reliable accounting firm; please feel free to reach out if you offer professional bookkeeping services.
- typical costs =$18 U.S. Chamber of Commerce membership fees and basic bank service charges - you aren't required to have employees. Also, if you're already employed elsewhere, you can't be dual-enrolled for benefits under both employers.
theonlyfuse, have you maybe checked out those cakes from Magnolia Bakery? I was looking through their catalog and they have some really stunning options that aren't even that pricey, plus the designs are gorgeous. Delivery right to the restaurant is already included in the cost. Prices range from $100 to $150 depending on what you pick, so if we're splitting it four ways, the one I picked out for my godson ends up being about $200 which doesn't seem too bad to me.

From what I've seen on their website, those cakes look amazing. But here's the problem: it's been nine days now and I haven't heard back from them at all. Honestly, I'm at a loss. What should I do?
Can anyone help me out here: what actually happens if I miss a court summons? It’s happened twice now. They keep sending notices to my permanent home address, even though I already notified them that I’m away at college in Cleveland. This is all regarding a lawsuit over an accident I caused—nothing major, just some minor property damage. The statute of limitations hits on May 16, 2008, so I was thinking about trying to stall things until then to see if it expires, but I honestly don't know if that's a smart move. I could really use some advice or info. 🙏🙏🙏

My doctor over at the pain management clinic actually told me to just pair some Imigran spray with Voltaren Rapid; she said I could even take two of those, and I’ve tried it—it really does work for me.
Voltaren Rapid helped me out too, but is it impossible to find now? Is it just out of stock everywhere?
I've been using Maxalt following my neurologist's instructions—taking the dissolvable version the second I feel an attack coming on. However, my doctor suggested trying three cups of coffee and some Plavigard first to see if that helps stop it in its tracks. I haven't actually tried that combo yet; honestly, it feels like a lot to take all at once, but I'm not sure. What do you guys think?
I can, I really can. They already came by my place once. I ended up getting a summons, but I managed to get through it with just a warning and having to cover the court costs.
