It honestly drives me absolutely insane whenever I stumble upon threads debating whether "positioning during intercourse determines the baby's sex" or any other ridiculous variation of the "how to influence gender" myth. Helloooouuu, there is absolutely nothing involved in this equation except for the sperm! Was it an X or a Y chromosome that won the race? Honestly, someone needs to go back to elementary school biology class and stay there!
There, I had to get that off my chest... 🙄
Jesse Evans85 said:I completely agree; it’s both fascinating and deeply irritating. There is this strange human compulsion to dump every known and unknown birth nightmare onto me. And don't even get me started on the postpartum horrors, like being told to forget about sleep or hearing threats like, "Just wait until you see what happens once the baby is actually here..."
It grates on my nerves as well; I make a point to avoid reading or listening to such things entirely, and if I happen to overhear a snippet by accident, I ensure it goes in one ear and straight out the other..

thank goodness I only have to deal with them once a week..
I honestly thought I was going to lose my mind this past Saturday.. 😠😠
Every time I see my father-in-law my blood pressure hits the ceiling, and the second my mother-in-law opens her mouth... especially with that whole... ULTRASOUND thing being "dangerous".. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..
And she won't even say it to my face like I do, she just drops these hints about her daughter who just had a baby lately..
Like, oh, it wasn't good that she went for ultrasounds so often..
I swear I almost snapped!!!
So I finally lost it and told her straight up that plenty of women need that peace of mind to know if their baby is actually healthy or not when something goes wrong..
Because let's be real, not every woman is choosing to have a sick child..
But you can't teach an old dog new tricks, right?,,
And my clean-cut brother-in-law is absolutely throwing a tantrum because we didn't show up at his house to celebrate Christmas and New Year's in person, but just sent him a text instead since he's impossible to reach..
What a jerk..
With this belly, I feel like I should be making a pilgrimage from one shrine to another just to get to the dentist..
I told him that once I actually give birth, I'll be the one needing to go to the hospital to show off the baby, not him barging in whenever he feels like seeing it..
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..
I am just beyond furious..
I want to just 🙂🙂🙂🙂:2up:
That is precisely what drives me up the wall! I found myself getting all worked up sharing my own ultrasound stories, only to have my own mother-in-law completely shut me down...
But honestly, who gives a damn? You and your baby are the only things that matter here; why let their attitudes get under your skin or spike your stress levels?
You have two ears for a reason: one to listen, and the other to let everything else go in one ear and out the other...

Oh, for heaven's sake... goodness gracious... 😠
John Baker5 said:I’m feeling pretty frustrated because my glucose tolerance test results weren't what I hoped for, especially since I’ve been so careful about what I eat throughout this entire pregnancy... 😠 actually, it’s not even frustration, it’s just that I feel really down about it... 😢
It also doesn't help that my sleep has been getting worse lately. I keep waking up in the middle of the night because my limbs start tingling or I get these sudden cramps, which makes it so much harder to finally get comfortable and drift off... 🙄
I went through the exact same struggle with sleep around my fourth or fifth month—I would be wide awake for two, three, or even four hours at a time, constantly battling leg cramps. But now, in my final trimester, I somehow sleep through the entire night without any issues, aside from perhaps getting up once to use the bathroom, and the cramps have vanished... Perhaps this insomnia will pass for you as well...
I decided to take a pregnancy test just two days after my period was supposed to start. I picked up one of those budget-friendly ones from CVS—the cheapest thing they had for about 19 dollars—$6.75, and I used my first morning urine sample. Now, if I recall correctly, the instructions were supposed to say that the second line would manifest within two to five minutes, but for me? It popped up almost instantly, within mere seconds.
So, really, why on earth would anyone feel the need to waste money on those overpriced, high-end tests?
My only regret is that I tossed it out immediately; I didn't even snap a photo because I was busy formatting my phone's storage at the time. 😢
We’ve all had those discussions about how pregnant women are often overlooked or ignored when it comes to finding a seat on the bus or the subway... but today, I actually experienced something different. A woman, probably in her late fifties or early sixties, stood up to give me her seat. I’ll admit, I felt a little flush with embarrassment, but of course, I took it. After all, I am quite literally carrying a tiny human being—who could possibly have a greater claim to a seat on public transit than an expectant mother?
In truth, shouldn't the shame lie with those younger than that lady who didn't even bother to notice me?
And thank God it was sunny and relatively warm out, which allowed me to unbutton my jacket just enough so my bump was visible.😁
So, I popped into the local DMV just to pick up my ID—there wasn't even a crowd, really. You grab a number, there are maybe four or five people ahead of you, and you're out of there in ten minutes tops. Plus, there were plenty of empty chairs if you actually wanted to sit down.
I’m sitting there, minding my own business after taking my number, when I spot this older woman practically poised at the starting blocks, waiting for the exact moment I reach the front. As soon as it's my turn, she practically sprints past me to the counter, slamming her disability card down because, apparently, she's "disabled"—though she was moving with the agility of an Olympic sprinter. Honestly, what was she running from? A sore toe?
The sign at the DMV clearly states: "pregnant women and individuals with disabilities have priority"
But look, I didn't make a scene; I was in that blissful, hazy state where 🙂hormones are basically driving the bus. If she had been in a wheelchair or using crutches, struggling to walk, I wouldn't have thought twice about stepping back. But to be that brazenly rude?
And once she finally shuffled away, the clerk behind the desk—bless his heart—turns to me and says, "Women going through menopause are truly the worst!" 😂 😂 😂 😂 Talk about the perfect way to brighten my day.
People are truly animals. It is absolutely mind-boggling how no one will step aside for a pregnant woman; they actually have the audacity to look you in the eye and ask if they can cut in front of you!! I suppose I can’t say I’m surprised by the men, given they haven't a clue what this experience is like—though, honestly, they tend to be much more attentive toward us, almost as if they're walking on eggshells, haha. But those older women? Good grief, surely they were once pregnant themselves and could manage a shred of empathy!
On a different note, I am becoming increasingly irritated by my own sudden forgetfulness. This morning, while running errands near Target, I headed to the restroom intending to collect a sample for my sister's medical tests, only to find myself habitually using the toilet instead of the specimen cup. I was standing there, clutching the little cup in my hand, staring at it with such misplaced confidence! It wasn't until I was finished that the realization hit me: I had completely botched the task. No sample for my sister this time...
I have found myself increasingly agitated by several things lately:
1. That specific, rather absurd question people love to ask: "Oh, is the baby alive now?" 🤣
It’s quite obvious they’re just asking because they can finally feel the movement—but goodness, the baby has been alive from the very start, not just since week 20 when we actually begin to notice those little kicks! The heart is already beating away like there's no tomorrow!!!!
2. I received the exact same reaction from both my mother and my mother-in-law: whenever I tried to share my excitement about the latest ultrasound results, they both immediately chimed in with, "Don't go to the ultrasound too often, it's harmful, blah blah blah..." 🤣 Honestly, some people never change, do they?
3. Then there was the moment I made the massive mistake of telling my mother-in-law how excited we were to be looking at cribs and strollers. Her grand conclusion? That we shouldn't buy a single thing until after the baby is born. She even suggested she would buy the crib for my husband's mother while I'm stuck in the hospital (!! Excuse me? Without me present?), and if she doesn't get around to it, the baby might just have to sleep on a pillow or in a basket for a few days 🤣 Well, absolutely not if it's my baby!
I have certainly learned my lesson and am now being extremely selective about what information I share with them!
I happened to stumble upon a little flyer in my mailbox today for a dentist over in the Upper East Side who’s currently accepting new patients. Does anyone here actually know this practice? Is their work any good? Since I live right in this neighborhood, I’d love to finally find someone local to switch to if they're reliable...
Has anyone actually stepped foot inside the Chiara bridal boutique over in Los Angeles lately?
Well, I suppose we can certainly discuss the merits of a well-formed backside, but at this particular juncture, I find myself wondering about my own circumstances; I am simply not in a position to make a trip down to the city just yet. Currently, I am training down in the South, so my glutes aren't exactly under the microscope quite yet.
That brings me to my actual question: does anyone else in this circle happen to be hailing from the Tri-State area?
And I find myself wondering, truly, what the vibe of Barun Trenk is actually like? Given that I’m likely planning to relocate to the city this coming fall, I simply must know. I’ve heard whispers that they make a trek out to Thailand every single year... isn't that just the most extravagant way to spend a season?
And does anyone actually have any intel regarding the national championships taking place in Rio this weekend? I’ve been scouring the combat sports portals, but there isn't a single whisper of information to be found... Is it possible that people would actually show up to support the athletes if they weren't left completely in the dark about the venue and the schedule?
So, here is the situation: I currently have a checking account at Chase where my paycheck is deposited, but I’m actually sitting in the red at the moment😬. I am looking to switch everything over to either Bank of America or Wells Fargo—basically, I want my salary to hit a different account entirely. Am I required to clear out this overdraft first and wait for every single pending check to clear before I can make the jump to a new bank?
Now, setting that aside for a second, if I were to pick up a debit card—like a standard Mastercard—at Bank of America, would I actually be able to use that to pay for things in installments at certain stores, or is that functionality strictly reserved for those revolving credit cards?🤷
I feel absolutely ridiculous asking this, really, but banks offer such an overwhelming array of products that I’ve managed to get myself completely turned around in the process...
🙂Can anyone who actually understands this stuff please help me out?
Steven Ruiz said:My number one rule for any relationship is pretty straightforward: I need to know that when things get intimate, there’s actually something substantial waiting for me down there instead of just a whole lot of nothing...
The second requirement is that the waist stays perfectly snatched, while still making sure there's enough room for the curves to actually fit...
It is honestly such a struggle trying to hit both those marks at the same time when you have my kind of body type... So far, I’ve only ever found Jennifer Lopez’s style or those Juicy Couture jeans that actually manage to fit my waist while still making my curves look good...
I can't help but just sit back and watch it all unfold...
Oh, and they need to have a lovely, clean color; I have absolutely no patience for anything looking dingy or blotchy...
and heavens, they shouldn't be too short either...
I suppose that explains why I manage to find a match maybe once a year.🙄
