creative said:meditation is just about settling down and shutting off all that mental chatter. you basically do nothing.
if you actually want to master the technique, you need a teacher...
honestly, I don't think books or random info on these forums are going to do much for you beyond some trivial details...
technique is just a function of the mind. and you don't need your mind when you're meditating. 😉
Joseph Ortiz26 said:So what actually is meditation? What is a person even doing when they meditate?
They aren't doing anything at all.
if you think doing nothing makes you enlightened, you're just an idiot...
that's why people in the English-speaking world can't grasp meditation. they don't have the capacity for double negatives in their logic...😉

through practice. Meditation is basically just focusing the front part of your mind on one thing so the rest of your brain can finally take a break. If you or someone close to you slips into a trance-like state, it just means they’ve managed to focus, but since that level of consciousness is still foreign to them, they can't control it—or maybe they're just subconsciously terrified of letting go completely... you eventually get past that hurdle through practice, or better yet, by finding an experienced teacher, because meditation can actually get pretty dangerous if you don't have guidance...
Dangerous stuff for the holy grail. 😉 Just child's play for the ones who actually exist! 🙂
It’s a damn shame nobody bothered to log in and swap out your password for you. 😂😂
is it just like what happened with the Jews and the Nicodemus Tower and those two towers in NY?😍 😂😂
God, these Catholics think they're so enlightened... I honestly wonder what they're even doing on this forum... looking for converts? 🤣 Honestly, the Lord and everything else is just pure ego 😂
"People are just clashing because they're both right!" said some undercover CIA operative on Oprah, back in the day... 😁
The truth is, you're both correct; one person is looking at one side, while the other sees the opposite perspective.
The ego is like a mirror egg. Its surface barely holds any actual reality...
The ego is warm water, but awakening is cold water!)
A friend was telling me that most people (%) have their ego centered in the sacral chakra—
it's all about being punctual, obsessing over formalities, rigid logic, academic learning, mental expression, "sacral" sciences, schooling, bureaucracy...
while the other half of the population centers their ego in the second chakra—using sex as a way to prove their ego exists...
you almost never see a CEO of a major corporation like ExxonMobil with an ego centered in the third chakra!!!
just imagine someone who actually had their ego centered in the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh chakras!""
Someone centered in the fourth would find their ego purpose in helping others! A true altruist... and those people are rare...
So, working on yourself is really just working on your ego—figuring out how to become an even bigger egoist! 🙂
Buddha had all seven centers open, which is how he became free from the ego...
As a collective, people aren't going to get much further than trying to prove their own sacral importance!! 😂😂😂
What was Christ trying to prove? What was Muhammad trying to prove? That's where they got stuck... 👍 🙂
Jamie Newman4 said:It’s one of those massive delusions held by people who don't realize that a symbol is completely powerless without the minds behind it to give it life. 😬
exactly. 👍
so why don't you go ahead and point out anyone who actually isn't thinking... 🤣
thought and matter are just two sides of the same coin...
Jack Harris3 said:It’s a shame you felt the need to draw that comparison to people... because let's be real, they aren't even in the same league... 🤣
You know how it works with those mirrors... we spend most of our time spitting on the very things we claim to recognize as our own... 😉
By the way, it’s just typical for Jack Harris3 to focus on nothing but whether some guy's been getting dirty running through the woods or not...
She’s just plain rude, especially toward other men, and she feels like she has to constantly prove herself just like any other guy does... 🤣
Look, we completely veered off into talking about four-legged animals, and honestly, none of that has anything to do with what was actually said... 😁
Not even close... 😂
So, what else is actually being done... 😁
One of the biggest delusions people have, especially when they think they're part of some grand movement, is believing they actually hold more sway than the symbols that represent them...
I mean, honestly... who wouldn't want to be more powerful than a symbol... 😍😂
Jack Harris3 said:Yeah... 😁
Dogs basically represent the ego-id, that messy, unrefined part of the human psyche found in pretty much every consciousness development system out there...👍
a, what?! that’s basically like some top-secret Egyptian initiation symbol... but I guess you can take a peek if you really want to. 😁
How we see ourselves versus how others perceive us.
If we were all alone in this world, ego wouldn't even exist...
He can't afford to have an ego...
