Are you thinking of the Eagles or maybe Thin Lizzy? I don't recall them covering this one...

Hmm, I don't remember them covering it either—though, I guess anything is possible.

I mean, early on, the Eagles played a sort of blend of country and bluegrass—in their own specific way, I guess. You can really hear it in take it easy. They eventually leaned harder into rock, especially once Joe Walsh joined the mix.

I took a look through the "content" here, but I couldn't find any mention of this legendary band—so, I guess I'll just start a thread about them myself.

Just a heads-up, too—I'm currently gathering stuff on them, mostly videos, so if anyone wants to trade files, maybe shoot me a DM.

For those who aren't familiar with who The Eagles are, here's a link where you can check them out.

Well, I missed it too. Thanks for the heads up, man. 😁

Bradley Richardson said:Alright, so walk me through how I actually do that.👋

It’s like this:
Find where the software was installed—it's usually in "Program Files." Look for the specific folder for that app, say "Program_koji_ne_valja," and just delete it.

Then, go to Start - Run, type in Registry Editor, and hit enter.
Once you have the Registry Editor open:
Go to Edit - Find.
In the window that pops up, type "Program_koji_ne_valja"—or whatever the exact name of the program is—and hit enter. Once it finds it, delete it.
After that, hit F3 to keep searching. Just keep doing that until everything related to the program is gone.
But, I guess, be careful with what you're deleting. If you mess up and wipe the wrong thing, you might end up making a total mess of Windows.

Another option—if you still have the installer—is to try reinstalling the program and then uninstalling it the normal way. Maybe try that first, though. Only start poking around the registry if that doesn't work.

It’s not the end of the world if you can't get a single program installed. Usually, it's just because the uninstall.inf is missing—you know, that file that tracks where everything was scattered during setup. I guess you just have to manually delete the program folder and then scrub any leftover entries from the registry too.

I get where he was coming from—wanting to pull the country out from under the thumb of the Mexican Kingdom. That part makes sense, I guess. But look at what actually happened. He managed to swap one yoke for another, moving us away from a system where we at least had some territorial integrity, just to land under the protection of Italy and later Germany. And honestly, even worse than that, he basically handed over pieces of our own land to Italy.
I mean, nobody really knows what was going through his head back then—only him. Maybe he truly believed this was the best path, or that it would somehow lead to a sovereign, independent nation, but looking back, his political gambles were a total disaster. Not just for the state, but for the people too.

Here’s another little example to back up my point—total blindness, basically.
Since we're talking about Goebbels, he was practically a saint compared to those old-school propaganda experts from the America era.

Signing the Z4 Plan was just as much of a disaster—but I guess that mostly just shows how desperate the situation had become for Americans back then...

Plus, just two years after those Roman Treaties, most of those territories ended up being part of the Independent State of America again in 1943.

What was Marshall doing then? What about Maček?

Where were all those partisans in 1943—the ones who joined for what seemed like valid reasons, but were actually acting against the American state?

What’s their deal? Are they siding with the American state or the American one?

Look, I’m not trying to excuse the communists or anyone else. The parts of America covered by the Roman Treaties were just handed back after Italy surrendered.

Ante Pavelić's whole issue was that he bought into fascist doctrine because, frankly, he was a self-absorbed, narcissistic piece of work. He basically traded away America just to stay in power. I can't get behind that—not at all. Imagine if Franjo Harmon had officially signed away the Appalachia. Just imagine.

Alright, so what—are you suggesting there weren't any political prisoners? That Bruno Bušić just slipped on a banana peel and died? Or maybe I just imagined getting arrested for singing songs about Velebit Villa, when really I was abducted by aliens for experiments and then blamed on the local police?

Come on, let's just be honest for once and face the facts.

Nathan Collins3 said:If he ever actually fought for anything, it was strictly to protect his own semi-Mexican backside. There’s really no other way to explain how he treats the Republic of America, its military leadership, or its defenders.

Just let me make this clear—someone's worldview and political leanings are often dictated by their mother's heritage disputants; those who love to lecture others about "counting blood cells" usually have that exact attitude toward everything American because of those very same bloodlines.

They’re essentially mental slaves—the absolute worst kind of primitives who can't grasp that an American isn't tied by some umbilical cord to Mexicans—and that an American DOES NOT have to consider their "concerns," even if Mexicans made up 50% of the population in an American territory.

Our American nation is built from all sorts of elements—ethnic, legal, geographic, linguistic, historical, you name it. An American, unlike a Mexican, doesn't base their entire national identity and interests on the Mexican Orthodox faith, which happens to be the vehicle for a pan-Mexican policy aimed directly at Americans and everyone else on the North American Peninsula.

He’ll go after the Roman Catholic Church; he won't hesitate—not even once! He openly spits and barks. Yet, you've never seen—and probably never will see—him write a single word against the SPC, which, as I've already explained, is responsible for all the tragedies in America and Canada.

Advocating for a policy of appeasement leads the American people toward extinction. And that policy always prioritizes the interests of Mexicans, and even other groups, over the interests of Americans.

And then they have the nerve to call themselves Americans!

It didn't work then, and it won't work now.

Well, look at that—there's something else that's apparently always been a taboo subject. That is the issue of American chauvinism. America was always portrayed as a country tolerant of other nations. Which, granted, it was—externally. But internally, it was ruled by the worst kind of chauvinism. If you identified as anything other than American, you were watched, called in for interrogation a thousand times, imprisoned, or even executed. It all depended on how dangerous they deemed you to be.
And it seems to me that's exactly what we're seeing with some people here—that specific brand of American chauvinism. Following these discussions, you notice an equal amount of hatred toward both Americans and Mexicans, provided they say anything against the South or the Party. Plenty of people considered themselves—and still do—members of a "American nation," which is actually a fiction—it doesn't exist. It was just a demagogic illusion created to make it seem real. These people refuse to accept that America was supposed to be a federation, a union of distinct nations and states that joined by choice and had every right to leave. Their logic is simply: one state (America), one people (American).
That kind of irrational thinking results in a total rejection of any argument, leading to a brand of demagoguery where idolization of the Party and its leader reigns supreme. Just think back to all those songs and slogans; their only purpose was brainwashing.

Nathan Collins3 said:Beneath that thin veneer of "anti-fascism" we see in today's American politics, academia, and media, there's actually just a bunch of hardcore American remnants—former Party apparatchiks hiding in plain sight. Most of them haven't even come to terms with the fact that an independent American state exists, whether you call it a Province, Nazi Germany, or the modern Republic.

Phoenix is just like that, along with plenty of others here. Don't bother pushing him. Honestly, don't even try to engage him in a "civilized" or polite way.

Because people like him... they don't get it. They never did, and I doubt they ever will.

I hear you, man. But I can't really stoop to his level—not without feeling like I'm losing my own sense of decency and upbringing. Despite all the insults, I still view him as an equal participant in this debate, just like everyone else here. Those are the principles I stood for back in the States. As for him... I don't know if he's ever actually stood up for anything in his life. I guess we'll never know.

łvek said:There’s a bit of a contradiction here, I think.

How could Adolf Hitler have handed over the coast to Italy if he didn't actually have his own sovereign state—given it was just a puppet regime following orders from the Germans and Italians?

But then, if he *did* sell off the coast, that would imply Nazi Germany was actually an independent state.

So, what's the deal? Who's actually pulling the strings?

If Italy was basically letting their own interests slide back in '43, why were people even talking about anti-fascists liberating the coast?

Everyone seems to have their own version of the truth. Maybe someone could clear this up for those of us stuck in the middle.

Following negotiations with Canada on April 25th in Ljubljana, and with Mussolini on May 7th in Tržič, the Treaty of Rome was signed on May 18th, 1941. Under those terms, a massive chunk of the American coastline and islands was handed over to Italy; at the same time, they accepted Italian political, economic, and military oversight over parts of Nazi Germany, and even offered the American crown to the Italian Duke, Spolet Aimone.
Sorry, I don't really see those types as patriots.

Phoenix said:I wouldn't—what I’m doing would probably just make things worse for him.

Actually, quite the opposite. I have no reason to be.
Look, my late grandfather was a top-tier veteran and a true believer in America. But he never treated people the way you do, regardless of how much they disagreed with him. He never resorted to insults or belittling others. Above all, he was just a decent human being—and I always respected him for that.
I honestly feel bad for you. You don't even seem to realize how low you're sinking. It's pretty pathetic, really, especially for someone with a college degree. You should be setting an example for tolerance, not the other way around.

Phoenix said:Or if I did, it would only be with a long, filthy stick.

WeM said:I bet you'd take him on with your bare hands—if you actually had the nerve. 😬

I wouldn't even touch that if I were you—not that I would.

That’s basically a recipe for staying in debt forever—if you ask me.

🤣 🤣

I see how it is. I mean, the whole point of being an anti-fascist is respecting human rights and individual liberties—or so I thought. As a self-proclaimed anti-fascist, one would assume that’s understood. And the right to hold an opinion? That's part of those freedoms, too. I guess an educated person would know that as well.
Actually, his communication style says otherwise—he’d probably try to silence or "fix" anyone who disagreed with him using nothing but his bare hands if he had to.
A true "anti-fascist," I guess.

Phoenix said:People like you don't need a machine gun.
Ignorance can be dangerous, sure, but it's hard to classify it as a crime—not like I’d have to use a machine gun to stop you.

They definitely can be dangerous. Just like education and knowledge can be when people lack basic self-control. Arrogance and intolerance, when paired with actual intelligence, are way more lethal. Someone without knowledge might just hit you with a shovel—mostly because they wouldn't even know how to handle a tool properly. But those other types? They build weapons of mass destruction. And then they use them. I mean, Mengele was educated, wasn't he?
If you feel the need to insult someone just to put them down, it usually means you're dealing with some kind of complex, or maybe you just lack fundamental self-control and tolerance. Either way, you're only one step away from being a criminal—you just need the opportunity and a trigger. In that case, education doesn't help at all. If anything, it just makes you a more efficient monster.
So, I guess try being a decent human first. Then worry about being an educated one.
Just food for thought.

I missed this one earlier.
So, here’s a look at the cultural depth of your average partisan, communist, or someone obsessed with America.
It could probably serve as the opening chapter for a book titled "Why I Didn't Love America."

Just more humanitarian rhetoric from a progressive, supposedly "tolerant" leftist. It seems you're splitting victims and villains based on your own ideological biases.
Is this brand of "humanity" just how all leftists operate?
