Politics PDF: Deleted post - The reason... in Feedback & Suggestions ·
redhawk76 said:The previous post was taken down again (I think I get why this time), but I still don't grasp the reasoning behind the very first removal. It would be nice if someone could explain the logic behind—in my opinion, totally baseless—censorship.

I have crystal clear memories of certain traumatic events from my childhood (like when my grandfather passed away) that go back much further than the age you're mentioning. Trauma leaves deep scars. You don't need a PhD in psychology to understand that. How much time spent in an Auschwitz death camp can cause trauma is something the two of us will never truly know. Nor can we know how much it forces a child to grow up too fast. It isn't fair, nor is it particularly humane, to sit here in a thread about the Holocaust and debate whether some eleven-year-old was exaggerating the horrors they endured. We shouldn't be dissecting their deadly daily reality, let alone drawing conclusions about how such discussions are "counterproductive."

Daniel Cooper40 said:It’s simple. The French let the Swede win by just one point so they can slide into the next round as the top seed and dodge Dance. Meanwhile, we get sent packing.

But why would they send us home? I mean, are we really such a threat to them?

It's always bad luck. Everything just misses. It’s completely incomprehensible. When the universe decides you aren't meant to win, you simply aren't. It's always Tony Parker.

It’s just like how France is expected to sweep the 2017 World Cup at home.

That's the one thing we just can't seem to pull off.

And the Mexicans 😍

Still, they aren't exactly invincible. It’s never quite as simple as just picking a winner on paper. One bad call, one mental lapse, or one player having an off night can easily derail everything and land them in a semifinal against Denmark instead.
James Patel20 said:Since those people in the video were basically busy covering for that moderator, it probably feels like the right thing to go out and offer them an apology.
Go ahead and give me your best shot. Give me an assessment. ☕

Get off my back. I'm done dealing with you. Go find somewhere else to dump all that nonsense.
Jonathan Williams46 said:To the mods: any idea when I might get a response? Please, try to hurry while this thread is still relevant. Thanks.

Regardless of whatever historical figures or political nonsense people want to throw at this, we're talking about a slogan from the era of Nazi Germany. We aren't going to try to make that legal here. Please and thank you, goodbye.
James Patel20 said:The moment someone points out the connection between Jovanović and Stevanović—something nobody else is even mentioning—you just delete it. Then you pivot to a different topic, and in a few days, the whole thread gets locked.

He didn't actually delete it. It’s not really about the Jovanović-Stevanović connection, even if it was technically off-topic. The issue was that a few posts toward Stevanović were so aggressive they sounded like something that could get someone jumped on a street corner.

coppermarlin13 said:He really needs to bring up yesterday's news. Yesterday’s reports were all about how a defender was brutally beaten and suffered a crushed skull.

Just look at today's headlines.

You have to consider yesterday's context when discussing why that card was issued.

Yesterday's news provided the context for one side, while today's provides it for the other. They are polar opposites. As for what the actual truth is, I honestly don't know. But the fact remains that yesterday's accusations regarding "spilled blood" and "brutal beatings and savagery"—which are incredibly heavy terms—were presented straight-up, one-sidedly, and without providing a complete picture of the events. In that light, you could certainly argue it was just fearmongering.

Please, just move this over to politics. We're dying of boredom over here.

Jesse Ortiz71 said:I'm not complaining. I respect the decision—it's your forum and your rules. I guess I'm just curious if a moderator actually made the call to ban me, or if yesterday’s reward points somehow triggered some kind of automatic lockout?

It was a joint decision by the moderation team. To be fair, you aren't exactly a regular here, but whenever you do show up, there's trouble. You're constantly dancing right on the line of hate speech, and you've got several warnings on your profile to prove it. We'll do a review in six months. We'll talk amongst ourselves and then touch base with you to see where things stand.

Anthony Jackson2 said:You completely missed the mark on this one. Look, it isn't like rustydrifter10 is out there hand-picking the mods. It’s more like the existing moderators essentially dictate the direction. And honestly? I highly doubt rustydrifter10 is running around asking everyone for their take on "hot-button issues" before making any moves. 🙄

Wait, didn't you get that questionnaire before the appointments were finalized?

ps @breaker, looks like you were accidentally picked as the prime example here...

Or even better, check out this response (just saw the thread):

What kind of special status do forum users even have when it comes to being insulted? 🤣

In the meantime, we’ve started handing out penalties on the soccer pitch too, just so you and Breaker are both in the loop. Next up on the list? The earring crowd.

He knows perfectly well that something like this is against the subforum rules and won't be tolerated in Politics at all—it’s exactly what others get warned about.

The rule:

The code of conduct for the Politics subforum applies to the use of derogatory nicknames directed at both forum members and third parties. We will not tolerate the malicious distortion of names, such as Fran Harmon, Vladimir, or Ivo, nor will we permit the intentional misrepresentation of any user's handle.
To foster a healthy cultural dialogue, please refrain from using offensive language when discussing public figures. Posts containing such remarks will not be tolerated. The moderators also reserve the right to sanction any posts that are particularly uncivil.

So, zero integrity. If even one person lacks it, the whole thing falls apart. I mean, who would actually be willing to hand out warnings or bans for something someone wrote themselves, knowing full well it clearly violates the rules?

I didn't write anything uncivilized according to the rules. I just said the guy is a stubborn idiot. And I backed it up. I still think he's a stubborn idiot. If I had called him a total piece of garbage (just using that as an example), then sure, he’d deserve a ban. But you, I'm certain, won't have any trouble finding a post where I've lashed out at a member just because I called a public figure an idiot. But if, heaven forbid, you can't find anything like that, then I'm equally sure you'll come back here and say sorry. Because your integrity is beyond reproach. Isn't it?

Even if that were true—which it isn't, and you can't really know for sure—I have every right to share my perspective as long as I'm not being abusive.

coppermarlin13 said:You’re just an aggressor. You have zero culture here—no forum etiquette, no legal awareness, no political sense.

Well, maybe I am being insulting. Let's put it this way.

You've been offensive and provocative.
It's aggressive behavior and you're disrespecting the victims of Memphis.
If you can't control yourself, just stay away from this topic.

Since I've supposedly done all that, I'm sure it won't be difficult for you to prove it with links to my posts. Go ahead. Expose me as some heartless, out-of-control bully. Be my guest.

coppermarlin13 said:You should be ashamed of yourself, barging into this thread just to provoke people from El Paso and our veterans under the guise of being tolerant.

To be honest, there isn't even a single mention of anyone from El Paso or our local veterans in that post (if we're really splitting hairs here). The only way that post could be seen as a provocation is if someone views certain scripts as an automatic red flag. It feels like this whole situation actually says more about you than it does about what I wrote.

I suppose I should probably start by admitting that I’m not exactly the most organized person when it comes to these things. It’s a bit embarrassing, really. I tend to drift. My thoughts wander off on their own little adventures, and before I know it, I’ve lost the thread entirely. I try to be more direct, I truly do. But sometimes, the details just seem to slip through my fingers. It’s a work in progress. Just me, being me. kaže:

I mean, what kind of post is that? Just a link with zero explanation? Seriously?

It’s an explanation. Pretty straightforward, really. I honestly don't know what else there is to add.

I suppose I should probably say something here. It’s been a while. I tend to drift, I know. A bit scattered. But I wanted to drop in. Just a quick note to say hello to everyone. Hope you're all doing alright out there. kaže:
So, here’s what our wonderful moderator, Ryan Vaughn7, was saying:

You’ve got a point there. Even though it was only three words, I completely blanked on the translation. In the first post, I mentioned supporting Cyrillic, and in the second, I just said thanks.

coppermarlin13 said:Since reports regarding posts that break our community guidelines go straight to the moderators (who, let's be honest, sometimes bend the rules themselves), and since there's no way for a mod to actually discipline another moderator, super-mod, or admin, I’m starting this thread on this subforum. My goal is to flag these specific instances directly to the site admins to make their jobs easier and ensure everyone actually follows the rules. It's for the good of the whole community.
I'm flagging two posts right now by a moderator and a super-mod, Ryan Vaughn7, which violate the official policy here:

Using Cyrillic isn't an official part of our forum's standard language policy.
Unless I'm missing something—do we just ignore it now?
Besides, using that script in this specific thread is nothing but pure provocation and trolling.
Please look into this and issue the appropriate sanctions.
