You could just open a Chase account, and then on PayPal, you can set it up to use the bank's exchange rate instead of theirs. Theirs is barely worse, but still...

So, I used my online banking to pay off three different bills (phone and utilities) back on January 2nd. The app showed right away—and even when I checked again today—that the payments went through successfully.
But here’s the weird part: my account balance hasn't budged. Even after all this time, the money I sent via net banking is still sitting there like nothing happened. It's like the payment didn't actually deduct from my balance at all.
Anyone ever dealt with this before or know what might be going on? 🤷

I'm talking about treating savings like a fixed-term CD—not just some standard savings account, but an actual term deposit without a dedicated routing number. You wouldn't be able to make simple transfers into it via a standard deposit, which simplifies things. It also keeps the funds out of reach of any potential freezes, but honestly, 🙂 it's a gamble. The moment the owner withdraws those funds and they land in a regular checking or savings account, they become fair game for a freeze. It's a very slippery slope, in my opinion.

But a whole month has passed since then, and it really should be working by now.
How is the money supposed to accumulate in my checking account? I have $0.00 in there.
My paycheck goes straight into my checking.
The teller was supposed to set up a recurring transfer—or something similar—so that whenever I
pay for something via PayPal online, the funds are automatically pulled from my checking account. That way, I never actually need to keep cash sitting in my savings.
When I
visited the RAND Corporation branch again, I asked if everything was activated. The clerk checked three different times and insisted it was all set, but as soon as I got home, it still wasn't working. :/

Is there really no way to have at least a third of it released back to me? I just don't understand how anyone is expected to survive an entire month without any access to their living expenses..

What kind of nonsense is this "upcoming transactions" feature that just shows you two different account balances... I mean, who on earth is that actually useful for?!!
I have a premium credit line, so I can see my total limit, but I can't see how much of it is actually available, nor can I see how much of the limit I've already burned through. On top of that, there's no way to see when my installments are due or even how much they are until the day they're snatched from my account.
The whole app is a complete catastrophe.
Email notifications are broken, and that useless automated email notifying me every single time I log in won't let me opt out no matter what I try.
Now, I was wondering... I was granted this premium credit limit right after my first paycheck, set at the amount of one month's salary. It's been three months now, and this month I actually received $333 a bit more because I had a baby—it was a bonus from my employer—but clearly, the folks over at JPMorgan Chase don't realize why my pay was higher :-)) so I'm curious if I can actually go in and request an increase on that limit now?

Does anyone happen to know what those are actually for? I don't get any monthly statements sent through the mail, so I’m honestly just sitting here wondering why on earth they’re taking my money $5.00!?!?
