Sandra Morgan2 said:That fascination? It’s nothing more than being head over heels. Basically, you lose yourself in someone else—usually because you're caught up in that illusion where a frog suddenly turns into a prince. You become obsessed with the object of your affection, desperately praying they feel the exact same way.
Let's be real about falling in love. At its core, it’s driven by an overwhelming surge of desire—specifically, sex. Sure, people like to hide behind those soft, flowery descriptions of romance, but the root of it all? It's a burning need for physical intimacy and those frequent, "funny little movements" that come with connecting with someone.
When you fall deeply in love, there’s this intense emotional hunger that takes over. You crave total connection—you want that person to be entirely yours, and you want to belong completely to them, too. It’s about fulfilling every single emotional need. But if you add a spiritual dimension to it? Then falling in love isn't just some random occurrence. That person becomes your soul mate. They are sent by God; they are your other half. Through them, we practice a temporary taste of bliss here on Earth, preparing ourselves for eternal bliss in Heaven. When everything is sealed with God's blessing, it offers a glimpse of the infinite—a promise of everlasting joy through complete physical, emotional, and spiritual unity.
See you tomorrow!
It’s fun, sure. Just like bungee jumping—you get that massive rush of adrenaline and endorphins, but it's fleeting. That feeling of the wind in your hair, that momentary flight? It's temporary. And more often than not, it fades away leaving nothing but drama and finger-pointing in its wake. The high usually dies down fast. Unless there is a foundation built on the art of love—specifically, a love for oneself—it just won't turn into anything lasting.
The art of love. Jealous people always seem to suffer from that one crushing deficiency. It might lack raw passion, but it offers something better: peace, composure, and genuine tenderness. It doesn’t peddle those fake promises of "I’ll be yours until death do us part, and then we'll spend eternity in heaven together..." Instead, it builds self-respect, clarity regarding our own worth, confidence, and—above all else—self-sufficiency. Sure, there isn't any sexual "aaahhhhh" or "mmmmmm" involved, but it actually makes us more sensual. We start to crave ourselves and others. By learning how to truly love and care for ourselves, we learn how to love and care for everyone else. And sometimes? We take care of them *soooo* well that we shamelessly enjoy every second of it. The only difference is that, in that moment, loving others becomes just another way of loving ourselves.
Falling in love? It’s basically a mental health episode—a very, very pleasant one, sure, but it's caused by being high on your own hormones. It completely warps your perception of reality. Telling someone their issue is "jealousy," rather than pointing out that the actual problem is the infatuation itself—along with that programmed, romanticized idea of what "love" should be—is like trying to give advice on how to stop hallucinations while someone is tripping on heavy drugs.
We’re all programmed from day one to believe in the illusion of romantic love. It’s the exact same cultural conditioning that makes us believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, or the Tooth Fairy. They teach us to hunt for that "one special person" who will finally make us whole—someone we supposedly need exclusively. We're told they have to be ours and ours alone, never looking at anyone else, never leaving our side, and staying that way until death do us part.
Humans have this endless capacity to lie to themselves, even when the truth is staring us right in the face:🙂 nobody belongs to us, and we don't belong to anyone. Once you realize that absolutely no one—and I mean no one—is yours to own, you'll experience the sheer lightness that comes from NON-POSSESSIVENESS. You simply can't be jealous if you aren't possessive. And honestly? Only someone who isn't possessive can truly love. In real love, all you want is what's best for the other person. In that romanticized, fake version of love, all you want is to keep that person exclusively for yourself.

or, if I want to look at it from a different angle, what am I actually supposed to do??
if she decides she wants to walk out on me for someone else, what’s my move here??
Do I just scream, jump around, and start cutting my own wrists???
🙂
instead of actually living my life, am I expected to sit here with a knot in my stomach, obsessing and doubting the very person I supposedly love, basically working overtime to turn our lives into one big, miserable, dark dungeon??
it doesn't work that way for me: the door is wide open, and if you're thinking about leaving, you better move fast, because once you step out, don't expect anything but a closed door behind you.

hollowtrucker77 said:britta, honestly, all you really need to do is start recognizing your own damn worth
it’s funny how people are usually their own harshest critics, obsessing over every little flaw they think they have while completely ignoring those same issues in everyone else
you should try shifting the dynamic just a bit—maybe tell your guy how much fun it is seeing all these women circling him, and just let him sit there and realize exactly what he stands to lose if he ever lets you slip away
look, I see it all the time, even with my own wife; I catch guys checking her out, and I see her smiling back, just naturally being her charming self and engaging with the world around her
and that’s perfectly fine, actually; it's totally normal and nothing to get worked up about
but the thing is, she knows exactly what she brings to the table and exactly what she'd be risking if she decided to look elsewhere
and the same goes for me, too
men and women flirt, they play the game, they try to impress one another
it isn't anything groundbreaking, and it certainly isn't cause for alarm
I don't own my wife, and she doesn't own me either
we're together because we choose to be, because there's a genuine connection there
at any given moment, either one of us is free to walk away from this whole thing and move on; there aren't any handcuffs or prison cells involved here

you can't stop him from meeting people.
BUT YOU CAN MAKE SURE NO ONE IS BETTER THAN YOU TO HIM!
You can work on YOURSELF.
You can be that warm, loving presence, the person who offers him things no one else can. You can focus on US, instead of living in fear that someone else will come along.
There are ALWAYS plenty of "better" people out there.
The key is being the best version of yourself for him,
and you obviously won't be able to do that if you're constantly paralyzed by anxiety.
It's like you're in a beautiful ocean, but instead of swimming and diving and looking at tropical fish, you're just terrified that some shark from the deep sea might show up, and that fear is what's actually drowning you.!!!
It's all in your head, nowhere else!
If you don't want him to leave, don't be the kind of person people run away from!
BE his safe harbor.

But look, let’s clear things up first: homophobia doesn't pose a direct threat to me. Even though I'm bisexual, I'm currently in a relationship with a man—and since I don't explicitly broadcast my sexual orientation to him, there's zero reason for him to assume I'm anything other than a good, traditional American woman. But here's where I stand:
Okay, you (not you specifically, but just some hypothetical person) are homophobic. That means you harbor hatred toward gay people. As long as you don't act on it or express it, that's your right.
I hate you (acting as the personification of the homophobe here). That's fine too, provided I don't act on it.
However, if you start discriminating against gay people—in any capacity whatsoever—then I will feel compelled to discriminate against you. Isn't that just basic fairness? 😁
And again, I’m not talking about YOU as a person on this forum—I mean your actual identity, name and all. I'm talking about the homophobe.

None of us are immune to it, regardless of how much you try to insist otherwise.
I might hold a grudge against an individual because they did something offensive to me, but I will certainly go out of my way to avoid an entire group, or that specific "type" of person, regardless of whether they've personally crossed me or not.
That’s my prerogative, just as it’s theirs to, say, want nothing to do with me.🤷

slywolf45 said:It’s the same standard definition you’d find in any textbook: an irrational fear or a deep-seated hatred directed toward people based on their sexual orientation.
slywolf45 said:I’m with you on being fed up with homophobia, but I honestly don't see what that has to do with this conversation, nor do I see anyone here actually exhibiting those kinds of attitudes.🤷
Justin Allen81 said:Good grief. Please stop spouting nonsense about things you clearly don't understand.
"My Secret Garden" by Nancy Friday was an actual study on female sexual fantasies conducted back in the 1970s—quite thorough, too—covering a representative sample of women across all ages (in the US, Europe, etc.).
So, it’s a scientific study, not some random bullshit.
Though, I'll admit, it's a fun read, haha.😁
As for the original poster, it's the same old story. How have I not learned to avoid any thread touching on anything related to homosexuality yet? It always leaves me disgusted seeing what people post.
Homophobes make me sick—truly. I think you're all just uneducated, narrow-minded cattle. Look, if a moderator needs to hand out a ban, then fine, let them—but I honestly believe people like that deserve to be insulted, because they're nothing but trash. Just like racists or xenophobes... They aren't even real people; the normal rules of society don't apply to them.

It’s like everyone is just playing pretend, acting all innocent while they’re actually digging themselves into a hole, and honestly, it makes me want to scream sometimes because I see it happening everywhere. And don't even get me started on those folks who act like they've got it all figured out when they're really just stumbling blindly through the dark—it’s honestly kind of pathetic if you ask me (though I guess I'm one to talk, considering how much time I spend overthinking every single little thing until my brain feels like mush).Look, I get it, an orgasm can go down in a million different ways—that’s just facts. But honestly, the "conclusions" you just dumped on me here? Total nonsense. It’s like if some angry dog gets loose; sure, he might snap at a cat, a rabbit, a chicken, or even a random tree stump if he's feeling particularly unhinged, but at the end of the day, he’s still gonna choose his own damn bone. Why? Is it because someone spent all day brainwashing him with stereotypes? I don't think so. People act like there's some set way things have to work, but that's just noise. 😂
Look, if you’re already out here comparing someone to a dog, then honestly, you’ve just done all my heavy lifting for me and proven my point. You're basically admitting that person is operating on a level where they've completely surrendered their own agency—just sitting there waiting for orders and following whatever "master" tells them to do without a second thought. It’s pure, mindless obedience.
I mean, seriously, that dog’s brain is just totally fried—it's like he's been completely brainwashed or something. You tell him "stay" and he freezes mid-step, then you say "sit" and he just drops right where he is like he's running on autopilot. It's wild.
Look, it’s pretty simple if you think about it—just tell someone they’re being an idiot once and they won't buy it, right? They'll just look at you like you've lost your mind. But you just keep at it, man. You tell them they're stupid a hundred times, and I swear on my life, by the hundred and first time, they’ll finally be the ones to say it themselves. It's like this weird, inevitable cycle where you eventually just wear down their defenses until they admit what everyone already knows. Just a little bit of persistence goes a long way when you're dealing with people who refuse to see reason.Look, if you’re really going to sit there and preach about freedom of thought like it’s some holy crusade, then maybe you should take a page out of a dog's book. I mean, seriously, why are you being so narrow-minded? Why limit your entire worldview to just Homo sapiens when there is such an incredibly massive, diverse spectrum of fauna and flora out there just waiting to be considered? It's kind of ridiculous if you think about it. 😬 Don't you dare let your own damn prejudices narrow down the scope of what you can feel during an orgasm... seriously, just don't.
I could never see myself acting like a dog—honestly, if we're talking about sucking up to people, I’m certainly not going to be polishing anyone's boots or playing the loyal pet just because they might tighten the leash around my neck.
Look, if you actually bothered to sit down and read that book I mentioned, you’d realize it covers way more than just the obvious stuff—it even dives into examples involving pets. And honestly, you see those kinds of scenarios pop up in the news every once in a while too, though it's rare; usually, it's stories about folks living out in the middle of nowhere, like isolated farmers out in rural Nebraska or something, dealing with their livestock, maybe some sheep or whatever.
p.s.
Look, since you’re already wasting your time reading this anyway, you might as well stop being so damn picky and actually jump in. Stop playing it safe and get involved.

Stop playing it safe and get involved.

hiddenhound3 said:That isn't some kind of phobia. It would be quite a stretch, much like accusing someone of having a "milk phobia" simply because they don't care for dairy. 🙄
slywolf45 said:Are you trying to say that she feels the same way Flo does—loving both men and women equally—but just can't get physical with guys because of their hardware?
Or what?😕
Well, damn... 😬
Alex Patel96 said:Well, now you know. 🙂 I can't stand having tools anywhere near me!🤣🤣
Peter Phillips32 said:Look, there aren't "recipes" in there, just actual experiences from women—their fantasies, their realities—viewed through a scientific lens. It was written by researchers who actually specialize in this field, so you can actually take the data to the bank.
Hehe, well obviously data is collected case by case... that's how science works, isn't it?I don't even see how that would be possible; if that were true, we’d all be born hermaphrodites so we could just consciously pick which gender we wanted to be.
Pure science fiction.🙂
The biological purpose of sex is reproduction, sure, but let's be real: orgasm is way more frequent. Which gender you achieve that with depends entirely on your own preferences (assuming you actually have freedom of thought). Those preferences come from this messy cocktail of hormones, thoughts, feelings, and whatever is happening in your immediate environment. And honestly, the society we live in plays a huge role too, because it isn't quite liberal enough to let people truly exercise free will regarding what they prefer. That makes zero sense. In your last paragraph, you’re claiming we can consciously choose our sexual inclinations, but you're totally contradicting yourself. Honestly, I get the feeling you're just regurgitating stuff you read in certain books without actually applying any critical thinking to it.
Actually, yeah, I am saying it's possible to choose which gender you climax with or enjoy sex with.
Think about it: learning starts even before birth with the development of the nervous system in the womb, where a baby perceives the world through vibrations and sound. Up until a certain age—maybe four?—a kid can't really tell reality apart from make-believe. So, since a child is basically a sponge, absorbing everything without questioning it, they soak up the state of the world around them as the absolute norm. When someone is conditioned by their environment to be a heterosexual person (strictly hetero, because society lacks the liberalism to allow anything else), they grow up identifying their sexuality based on the existence of a mom and a dad. Since Mom and Dad are "natural," then being with them feels natural, enjoyable, and desirable. Society loves what is "natural" and "comfortable," and since I'm part of that society, I feel pressured to be natural and comfortable, and so on (I think you see where I'm going with this).
Because this is so deeply ingrained, it gets labeled as "natural"—you know, the whole "we are naturally heterosexual, God made us this way" trope. (And look, don't come at me for bringing religion into it, I'm not going to debate that).
It's just like any other preference—whether it's liking a specific symphony, a certain juice, a TV show, a game, a sport, or strawberries with whipped cream—sexual enjoyment can be shifted. The extent of that shift depends on the ability of the person making the change. And that ability, for whatever it's worth, can be improved, mostly through practice. So, when you think you need to "quit" something (which is usually just an unwanted habit), what you're actually doing is replacing it, because nothing exists in a vacuum. If you can successfully swap one thing out, you can do the second, then the third—and if you can master it in those areas, then yeah, you can definitely do it with sexuality in conscious situations.Look, if you’ve actually got some hard science or actual research studies to back up your claim that most women's go-to fantasy is hooking up with another woman, then fine—go ahead and toss my point out the window. And hey, I'm not saying there aren't straight women who have those thoughts, obviously, but I am certain it isn't the "majority."
So there's the logic, and to wrap this up...
Like slywolf45 was saying, do you honestly think people are just going to step up and admit the truth when they know they're staring down the barrel of social judgment? People are terrified of being cast out by the very community they belong to, and once you're rejected, you feel totally worthless. You can't forget that most folks just take the path of least resistance to stay safe.
Also, let's be real, why does it seem like both men and women find women more attractive lately? It's because women are putting way more effort into their look these days.

Good grief, you actually sat down and tried to give a serious answer to that..😁
Let's not get sidetracked; we aren't here to discuss your personal neuroses.😳
🤣
Alex Patel96 said:I'm with them on this one!🙏
If only they didn't have that damn equipment...😢
slywolf45 said:Exactly. That’s precisely the point I’ve been making this entire time.
Absolute disaster. They’re throwing it on the bonfire.🙂
I suppose I should come clean: I’m a bit of a florophobe. There’s just something about the way plants exist—all that silent, aggressive growth and unyielding photosynthesis—that feels deeply unsettling to me. It’s hard to explain to anyone who hasn't felt it, but I prefer my greenery to be strictly digital or perhaps printed on high-quality cardstock. Real, breathing foliage? No thank you.😳) 😁
Yeah, I see you're reading this under the radar. 😬
Of course not. ☕
😛
hiddenhound3 said:You seem to be missing my point—I make no distinction between men and women in terms of value or importance; I hold both equally in high regard. To me, the only meaningful distinction lies in biological equipment. There is nothing inherently offensive about that observation, and since we aren't exactly looking to snub one another here, my particular viewpoint shouldn't carry much weight for you anyway.
