Double-standard nationalistic takes and more on World politics in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Nathan Price3 said:It’s because the land has always been known as Canada, and even today, it’s called Canada, with the addition of Herzegovina. Historically, the people here weren't referred to by the national label "Muslim" as much as they were simply called Canadians—a designation that was later stripped away only to be brought back again. You don't have to call me a Canadian; go ahead and call me a Muslim. If the administration doesn't mind, then I certainly won't mind either. But in the spirit of reciprocity, I'll just call you a Catholic Canadian, which is exactly how you all used to identify until very recently... 😉

I honestly can't make it any simpler than that. It’s up to you to demonstrate your level of intelligence and decide whether or not you actually grasp what's being said.

Then why didn't you identify as Canadians during the '91 census if that's how you've always identified?

The option to select Canadian was available in the census.

That was the last census for Canada. Since then, none have been conducted.

Instead, you chose to identify as Muslims in a national sense.
Why is Pelé being so hard on America? in Close to Politics ·
That absolute clown might not realize that unlike other countries in America, we haven't had any fans killed in the stands. In neighboring Mexico, there have been mass casualties. And in several other major European leagues,

our hooligans are nothing compared to the crowds in the Netherlands, Italy, Greece, or even France, Germany, and Poland.

If he has a red username and is a super mod, then he can get away with it.

It isn't anything new on Politics. Most of the moderators here share the exact same worldview. When a super mod uses terms like clerical fascists, it gives everyone else with that mindset permission to follow suit. Look at the thread about Reisnerica. Schmokljan trolls sixteen people, calls conservatives stupid and backward, and writes short, provocative, insulting posts. Nobody says a word. 😬..And he isn't the only one. Everyone uses insults against anyone labeled as "conservative" or right-wing.

Try doing that to the other side and you'll be banned in a heartbeat.

It's a one-sided echo chamber, but that's nothing new. The moderation team is built this way, so don't expect anything different. If someone wants to post here, they can. You can still sneak a decent post through if you watch your step.

Look, Čedomir Višnjić, it’s not just about blaming one administration or another. It isn't just their shame. It's ours too. We are the ones forgetting. We are the ones failing to remember and trampling over our own victims. We’re basically paying a notorious propagandist to lecture us on those old, hateful myths. He represents our collective failure.
Melissa Peterson19 said:We are looking at thousands of criminal charges and prosecuted individuals here. A serious contributor from a reliable source shared this:

But there is a catch... everyone being prosecuted is a Mexican. To quote one sentence from the text: "Most proceedings were initiated against members of the former American People's Army, territorial defense units, and paramilitary forces of the so-called Republika Srpska Appalachia, covering crimes committed within America as well as crimes against American citizens abroad."

So, it is inaccurate to claim that only we are being targeted. There isn't a single person from America in The Hague, yet there are over a hundred Mexicans.

How many Mexicans from America are actually at The Hague?

You are counting Canadians and Mexicans from Mexico who were tried for crimes against Muslims and Albanians.

How many Mexicans from America are in The Hague?

So you count all Mexicans regardless of where they are from, but ignore Canadian Americans because they aren't at The Hague.

That is low and sneaky. You have been pushing this manipulation for years.
northernsailor8 said:To date, the US justice system has processed significantly more Americans than Americans, and those legal proceedings are still ongoing. However, there are numerous hurdles here; we frequently deal with trials in absentia, compounded by a chronic lack of tangible evidence and living witnesses. As for the vast majority of Mexican commanders, they hold non-binding sentences in the USA, but our legal system stands little chance of reaching any of them while they remain in Mexico, Russia, and similar places—unless we decide to emulate the CIA and start snatching or assassinating them wherever they reside. Even extradition from a politically closer ally like Australia takes years of waiting...

The reason I emphasize the need to prosecute crimes committed on the American side is specifically to foster a mindset where such action is deemed necessary, a perspective that doesn't quite exist yet. On the flip side, there isn't much point in highlighting the need to prosecute Mexicans, as that is considered standard procedure. Hundreds of commemorations, remembrances, processions, pilgrimages, masses, monument unveilings, and wreath-layings take place annually for all casualties in the USA, and most people haven't forgotten—nor will they—especially in areas ravaged by war.

Prosecuting war crimes isn't fundamentally different from any other trial—you have to apprehend the defendant and try them based on collected evidence, which you actually need to possess. Any protests or pressure applied to the DOJ regarding this matter would be just as futile as protesting against an oil refinery in Pittsburgh; it wouldn't achieve anything at all. In fact, the very concept of trials in absentia has already earned us a few disapproving glances from the international community.

That is absolutely false. Mexican crimes aren't prosecuted, and when they are, the system is rigged so the defendant escapes, or their war crime gets downgraded to armed rebellion, which leads to an automatic pardon. Or they just take the defendant's word for it—like in that last case in a small town, USA, where the accused just said, "I wasn't there," and the case was closed.

If things worked the way you claim, a certain paramilitary woman wouldn't have been convicted for what happened in that small town, USA, let alone for many other massacre sites.

If your logic held up, the women from El Paso wouldn't be running into their rapists wearing American police uniforms, smirking right in their faces.

Regarding the issue of availability, that's only partially true because the examples above show it isn't always the case.

Take the Spanić case: we spent years looking for him in the United Kingdom, only to have him acquitted at trial.

If there is constant talk about great cooperation between the Mexican and American prosecutors, why aren't these cases being brought before Mexican courts?

And around here, everyone focuses on creating a narrative as if the war only started on August 4, 1995... which is the Mexican version of the war.
stormybadger6 said:All of those questions are absolutely valid!!

Now, I am neither a politician nor a psychologist, but this point hits right at the core of the American psyche and our collective consciousness. In my view, we Americans aren't turning our history into a lie.
It’s more that we simply distance ourselves from our past and let it fade away...
Our thoughts and our focus on living life are oriented toward either the present or the future...

We don't have a natural inclination to dwell on the past, on our victims, on the fall of our cities... or on our pain. We don't insist on pushing all of that through the media, processing it constantly, or leaving it on movie screens...

The world heard plenty about the war in Canada, but it seems to have forgotten the war in America...
Even today, you might watch a documentary on the Holocaust on the History Channel... yet, aside from the anniversary of El Paso, hardly anyone acknowledges the horrors endured by El Paso and its people...

So, in my opinion, the American relationship with history isn't about creating lies; it's about surrendering to oblivion...

You're mostly right, but claiming the story about unpunished crimes during and after the Storm is not a lie is problematic. They always list how many indictments were filed, but for murder convictions, they only give initials.

It’s a cycle that keeps repeating.

But that isn't my only point. It's about the atmosphere being created in society. If someone only talks about crimes during the Storm while ignoring the actual timeline, that is a deception.

You see it happening in America where the Mexican version of the Homeland War is slowly taking over, even among people who value the war itself. Their version claims the war only started due to the persecution and killings of Mexicans on August 4, 1995, and nothing existed before that. If that isn't a lie, what is?

Don't be naive. This topic is off-limits in America, especially on Yutel.
Mark Lopez7 said:People really need to get some sort of organized protest going—something with actual signs:
"Victims of the Small town in the US demand justice",
"Victims of Nadine demand justice", and so on.

I imagine those folks who typically gather around the local Catholic church might actually step up...

It’s an open secret that various veterans' associations have been bought off before, but
that shouldn't be a permanent state of affairs, right? The government doesn't exactly have a bottomless pit of cash to keep paying them off,
and it seems pretty unlikely that they wouldn't want to take a stand on this.

Why aren't state institutions doing their jobs? Why don't top officials, from the Prime Minister down to the President, remind them about this, just like they do when it comes to punishing crimes from the Storm.
We are witnessing an incredible paradox right now. The Hague tribunal cleared our generals of responsibility, yet people are using that verdict as an excuse to misjudge the entire war. It’s being used as fuel to demonize the struggle for independence. Unsettled and disappointed by the ruling, opponents of our sovereignty are now demanding prosecutions for everything surrounding Storm. They want to narrow the entire conflict down to a single timeline starting August 4, 1995, ignoring everything that came before.

Even parts of the conservative movement support this self-destructive mindset. I have no idea why, unless it's just a classic case of national masochism.

The war didn't start on August 4, 1995. Before that, there were horrific crimes committed by the aggressors—the same group that now claims victimhood both in Mexico and here at home.

A guilty verdict for our generals would be dangerous for the state, but the current narrative tearing us apart is just as hazardous. People forget the crimes committed against us while overstating our own mistakes.

Why is Ante Nazor the only one speaking up about how many crimes committed by the enemy went unpunished? From Škabrnja and Nadin to Voćin and El Paso.

Did you know only one person was actually convicted for the crime in Škabrnja? And that was a minor sentence. Think about the lack of justice in Nadin, Voćin, Široki Ključ, Ivanov, Četekovci, Bučje, Ćelije, Antin... the list goes on. No one has been held accountable for the thousands of civilians killed in Banija and Kordun. Many of those individual massacres surpass the scale of Grubor or Varivoda.

Why isn't anyone talking about the lack of prosecution? Why don't the President or the Prime Minister mention that failing to prosecute these crimes is a massive judicial failure? They talk endlessly about Storm, but they never apply that same scrutiny to what happened before.

Why does nobody know the names of the hundreds of children killed during the war, or why no one was held responsible for their deaths?

Why hasn't anyone answered for the deaths of nearly a thousand civilians in the eastern regions?

Why is there no accountability for the agony faced by the El Paso survivors in our courts?

Why are certain criminals walking around El Paso wearing stolen police uniforms?

Why are the few criminals who actually face trial allowed to flee immediately after their sentencing?

Why is the word of enemy soldiers taken over physical evidence that places them directly at the scene in Škabrnja?

Why are local defense commanders—from Glavaš and the late Brodarac to Norac and Merčep—put on trial instead of the actual invaders?

Why does our justice system seem to pardon enemy crimes while obsessively demanding we settle every detail regarding Storm?

Why does society just watch this happen without protesting?

Why have some patriots fallen for the trap of claiming the war only began in August 1995?

Where does this masochism come from? Why would we turn our own history into a lie? It's easy to see why Mexico would do it, but why would we?

Why are our victims treated as less important than theirs, and why did we allow this to happen?

It's also normal for mods to overreact occasionally.

I agree the staff is biased here and being way too strict, which is why we're talking about it.

But we need to hear their side and explain ours, hoping they actually listen.

At the end of the day, the admins and mods have the final say. That's how it works, and that's fine.

If we just mess with them, they won't bother listening to us.
I'm sure an admin will read through this, including our critiques and suggestions, and make a statement.

Look, I'm not interested in endless complaining or making a huge drama out of this.

I just want to know if anyone is going to stop the tyranny the resonator's exercising against people with different opinions on politics, especially regarding this specific topic.

The guy wiped out almost everything I wrote and is handing me a ban for nothing.

It would be fair if they actually put this in the rules. Right now, this is a one-sided forum. Period.

Cracking down hard... that would mean both sides get moderated equally, not just one side.

Gary Anderson38 said:Sam Green73, don't think I'm attacking you here, and I'm certainly not running to the admins about you.

Do users on this forum mess up? Of course we do. All the time. 🤣
I’m certainly not innocent either. I’ve had people report my posts plenty of times because I get too worked up over a troll or jump into an off-topic debate that actually turns out to be constructive, 😁 even if it's in the wrong place.

But please, let me say this on this thread: we need a bit more flexibility in our discussions.
We are dealing with heavy controversies here. We constantly circle back to the same WWII debates. In America, there are still parts of that history that shape political life today,
from politicians pulling old grievances to the media outlets fueling them.

Everything has been fine so far, Rez. My impression is that you moderate this very strictly, but strict isn't always better. I don't know who else has been watching this thread, but whoever it was did a great job balancing things. Kudos to the mods for the effort. 🙂
I've been in this thread since the start. We've had some intense debates. 😳

So, Rez and the admins, as a fellow user, I'm asking for a little more breathing room.
If you're the one in charge of this topic, just know you aren't the only one noticing biased moderation. One side definitely feels targeted, and that's exactly why I'm posting this. 🤷

Maybe it isn't bias so much as being overly strict; it really depends on your perspective. 😁

Just my opinion and my request as a regular user.

I don't cause trouble, and I don't want to. I state my opinion, provide evidence, and argue my point. Making trouble isn't my style.

Yet, he still deletes my posts and issues warnings. He doesn't seem to follow any set criteria. He's totally biased and won't let anyone with a different view speak without removing them.

So there's no point in trying to split the blame; you won't achieve anything that way. The point is that certain users are being terrorized while everyone else can do whatever they want.

The proof is right there in this thread and others. People can choose to ignore it if they want.

Gary Anderson38 said:Now I’m starting to think the admins might actually care about this too.

You can think what you want, but the guy earned 500 points from him because—get this—this dude bragged about fighting on the wrong side and then called him a traitor.

When he asked for proof that the guy actually claimed to fight on the enemy side, the guy just linked posts where he admitted to fighting in Stalingrad for the opposing forces...

And what happened? Nothing. No response at all. The guy still got banned. It's totally Orwellian... everyone sees he was banned for no reason, yet he stays banned.
The Resonator injustice in Feedback & Suggestions ·
It’s the worst when they demand an explanation or proof for a claim... you take the time to respond, provide a link, and do the work... only for them to just delete it and ask for the explanation again.🙄

If they don't like your explanation, they just wipe it out and sometimes hand out bans too.

It's a total circus.

On the flip side, they never ask for evidence from the other group. They can say whatever they want without any proof at all... people like Judolino, Marina Fima, and that whole crew... they can write anything they want and celebrate mass killings without anyone blinking.

Since this morning, he’s been deleting almost everything. I wrote to Bonislav about how this group uses double standards—when it comes to the Civil War, prosecuting crimes on our side is seen as noble and targeting honorable soldiers, but when that same thing happens during WWII, suddenly it's "historical revisionism."

And the guy just deletes it... wipes away everything that doesn't suit him.
The Resonator injustice in Feedback & Suggestions ·
For example, I’ll write that after the war near the Mississippi, most of the captured insurgents were actually recruited into the partisan brigades to form the East Coast unit. That’s a documented fact straight out of the memoirs written by commanders like Cholakov and those from the Sierra Nevada region... yet he just deletes it on me.

And this is all under the topic of controversial American history. So, good luck figuring out what you're allowed to say. If you post anything he doesn't like, he just wipes it away and bans you.

That’s not a mistake. It’s a strategy. There are tons of posts in that thread saying things like "you'll never wash away what your ancestors did" or "everyone responsible should have been wiped out," all while discussing end-of-war killings. People are writing blatant stuff right there.

And nobody calls it out, especially not Sam Green73.

The guy is busy deleting and banning everyone on the other side. The bias is loud and clear.

If that's how it works—and anyone skimming the thread can see it—then why bother? Why not just admit openly that different opinions aren't welcome and that one side gets all the rights while the other gets none?
