I'm trying to figure out if it's just your typical local bakery or something else entirely. Does anyone know their hours? I was thinking about heading over there this Saturday to get everything sorted out, but I honestly have no clue if they'll even be open. Helpic
A friend of mine ordered pastries from them before, and I actually reached out to them myself (though I ended up going with Costco instead). Just give them a call and let them know you're coming; someone will probably be waiting for you. It isn't really your standard neighborhood bakery—they're more like a dedicated dessert production facility. I think they stay open until 8 PM on Saturdays. The lady I spoke with was seriously lovely........
So, I actually know that bakery. I used to grab sweets there all the time, and they were pretty decent, I guess. I think that spot is a Millennium Bakery now—you know, the one over on Broadway.
Honestly, it feels like almost every single bakery or dessert shop out there is pulling the same stunt lately—claiming their pastries are "homemade." Even those classic regional treats aren't actually made from scratch anymore; it’s all just assembly line production at this point. It really makes you wonder if it's even worth shelling out $7 or $17 a pound for stuff that's supposedly "authentic."
Hey, I’m really hoping they stick to what we talked about and actually make me that marzipan glaze, because the cake is supposed to be this specific yellowish color... Anyway, I absolutely live for marzipan.
So, I went ahead and put down a deposit yesterday for a cake over at Whole Foods in Chicago. A cake for 250 people is going to set me back $467, which is just wild. I decided to go with tiered layers—I think there are about 9 individual cakes total—with all sorts of different flavors, mostly keeping things on the lighter side... The lady working there actually talked me into ditching the standard fruit sponge with cream and just doing a vanilla parfait with fruit instead! It’s going to be covered in marzipan with red decorations on the outside.

Did you catch their flyer? That cake is right there on the front cover... Anyway, the sweets are solid, and word is they've got the best prices in the US...
Yeah, I saw the flyer. That cake looks absolutely insane!
Oh, great. Just fantastic. I had absolutely no clue they did custom cakes on demand!!! I guess I still have until June 30th to actually make up my mind. (Though, honestly, I’ve been leaning pretty hard toward a chocolate glaze myself)

I haven't actually made up my mind about the cake yet. The lady told me I could just let her know whenever I decide. They showed me this photo album filled with pictures of their cakes; they aren't even that pricey and honestly, the cakes look pretty decent.
ha, ha... shipping them by bus... 🤣 Where I ordered from, they actually have their own refrigerated van, so I don't have to worry about what kind of melted mess shows up at my door.
Anyone who drives out of town to deliver stuff should definitely be charging a delivery fee I mean, come on, you've got gas and highway tolls to think about...
Hey, I just stumbled upon another cookie manufacturer Anyone living on the east side of the New York City metro area might want to check this out www.skah.hr
I’m definitely on team chocolate myself, I guess,😍 I’m just honestly terrified that by June 30th everything is going to completely fall apart and melt down.😲
