So, I actually reached out to the catering company to ask where I should pick up the cakes and treats for the big dessert spread.
Apparently, if you're looking at cakes for something around 250 people, prices can swing anywhere from $567 all the way up to 2500 bucks.
I’m still planning on checking with a few other local bakeries just to be safe, because you know how it is.
Personally, I think those cakes covered in Ticino cream look pretty decent, but I’m leaning toward something with actual filling or maybe even a chocolate glaze—just feels more indulgent, I guess.
They also look really classy when they're stacked on top of each other, though I'm having second thoughts about doing a tiered setup; maybe sticking to individual stands would be easier to manage.

So, I was out in Springfield yesterday and finally put down a deposit on some pastries.
The price is $16/lb and the deposit comes out to $167.
Oh, and just a heads-up, you have to cover the delivery fee to Chicago upfront $67.

Wait, which candy shop are we even talking about right now???

Rebecca Fox2 said:Just wanted to give you guys a quick little update on the cookie prices. I gave the Sweet gift shop over in that small town in the US a call today, and they said wedding cookies are going to be $17/kg. The lady there mentioned we can just swing by whenever we want to grab some samples. So, my plan is to head out there soon to pick up a few things for a taste test, and I'll let everyone know how they turn out as soon as I've had a chance to try them. In the meantime, if anyone else happens to try them before I do, please let me know!

Rebecca Fox2,
did you happen to ask how much lead time they need if you actually end up ordering from them?

Ronald Hill3 said:Has anyone here actually heard of Sweet Gift? I’m wondering if anyone has tried their pastries lately. What’s the general consensus? And how are their prices? I've heard rumors they might be incredibly cheap, though I suppose you get what you pay for. 😬

So, some buddies of mine grabbed some of their treats before, and honestly, they were awesome. Back when they picked them up, the price was sitting at $15/lb.
I think I'm definitely gonna go with them, or maybe just grab some from a bakery in Chicago.

Arthur Turner17 said:Hey, quick question. I just spotted this gorgeous little cookie tin online—super cute and actually affordable. I'm wondering if dimensions of roughly 5x3.5x4 inches are big enough for cookies? Like, how many homemade treats can you actually fit in there? Are you guys better off sending soft cookies or something more crunchy? Thanks!

I mean, yeah, I think so.
I'm probably going to grab one that's closer to 5.5x5.5x3 inches myself, which is about the same ballpark.
Personally, I figure I could probably squeeze about half a pound of cookies in a box like that.

Wow, I honestly had no clue that peaches were going to spark such a massive blowout.
I’m not even going to dignify those comments about whether someone is being selfish or how much we should cater to everyone else's little whims.
At the end of the day, everyone runs their wedding their own way, and I feel like dragging this out into some huge debate is just totally pointless.
Whether I decide to serve peaches or swap them out for something else isn't some grand proof that I'm selfish or that I don't care about what my 250 guests want.😎

Wow, I honestly had no idea there were so many people obsessed with peaches.
Well, in that case, I guess I won't be getting rid of them.🙂 🙂

They told me that the mix is supposed to be a little bit of everything, including those decorative cookies that have the little peach pieces in them. I think I'm gonna go ahead and ask if they can just leave out those "fancy" cookies that nobody actually wants to eat anyway.🙂

So, I headed over to Walmart yesterday to grab some of those to try out. Honestly? They’re delicious. I’m kind of obsessed, I guess.
Yeah, they call it the Wedding Mix.

I was thinking about setting out some little boxes of cookies on the table right by the exit, you know, so when guests are heading out they can just grab a few treats to go.
I’ve always thought that was such a killer idea—there is nothing better than waking up the next morning and having some delicious cookies waiting for you to snack on.🙂

Honestly, I’m still totally torn on who to order this cake from, so if anyone actually knows what their stuff tastes like, please let me know!
Has anyone here ever ordered cakes from that bakery out in the Suburban town area?

Ronald Hill3 said:Paul Barnes4, who actually baked those? Where from, and what was the price? You know how we all get when it comes to these details here.😁
btw, I think someone mentioned some cookies being baked by someone up in Appalachia for about $15/lb—that’s pretty close to where I am, so let's hear it: who, where exactly, and how can we actually get a taste?😬

They're at the top of the list
Some friends of mine had their treats before and they were honestly amazing
I'm thinking about giving them a call pretty soon to see if anything has changed and when I should put in my order for the cookies.

Yeah, I actually checked in with a friend of mine from Indianapolis. She says they're awesome.
I still need to look into it, though—there's this one company out in Appalachia that works for $15/kg.

I am constantly on the hunt for some decent pastries, but honestly, everything seems so overpriced lately.
Has anyone actually tried ordering treats from Magnolia Bakery online???

Is anyone else thinking about picking up some pastries from "Sweet Treats" over in downtown Chicago?
They go for about $17/lb.
I actually snacked on them at a wedding recently and, honestly, they weren't half bad.

So, I hit up this little bakery over on Broadway yesterday and had the most incredible cake.
It was one of those dark chocolate Forest Cake things, and oh my god, it was just... perfection.
Seriously, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
I’m dying to know—has anyone else grabbed a slice from them lately, or is anyone planning to go?
