Anonymous said:Hey everyone... I was doing some digging on Google and ended up finding this forum... I’ve already scrolled through almost this entire thread 😬

So...

The first day of my last period was March 25th, but I had sex on March 11th

My period was supposed to start on April 22nd, so a couple days ago I tried a Clearblue test. It was four days after my expected date (though I didn't take it first thing in the morning, just later in the day) and it came back negative

Today is already the 6th day since I was due... I'm noticing some increased white discharge, and while I wouldn't call them "cramps," I am feeling a tiny bit of discomfort in my abdomen...

I'm wondering if that last time we had sex was actually right during ovulation or what?

Also... how reliable is the test I used?

When would be the best time to test again? Is it too early to try again today?

Thanks in advance

😘

If your cycle is regular, then those were likely your fertile days...
First off, you didn't mention if he finished inside or if you think it didn't go that way...
A test should show results by now...
All tests are decent, but Clearblue is highly reliable... and you can use it at any time of day...
It showed positive for my aunt, and she took it at 8 PM... so it doesn't just rely on morning urine...

So, there are two possibilities: either you tested too early and there wasn't enough hCG in your urine yet, or you're simply not pregnant...

As Joshua Clark mentioned, discharge can increase due to bacteria, yeast, or even if you've been taking certain medications lately (which could also cause a late period).
But, then again, it could be a sign of either your period or pregnancy... both are possible...

PMS symptoms and pregnancy symptoms are virtually identical, so there's no point using that as a guide... real pregnancy signs usually don't show up until after the 6th week...

My advice:
Either wait a few more days and test again, or just make an appointment with your OBGYN...

Good luck, regardless...😘

EDIT: I suspect you aren't pregnant 😉... My gut says Clearblue would have shown something by now...
Joshua Clark said:To be honest, I wouldn't even want to be pregnant right now—but if I am... what then? Seriously, considering who the father might be, it's probably better if I'm not. It's just these breast pains that are driving me nuts.
I see you're dealing with the exact same thing... I don't know, maybe I need to read the test more carefully—it might be too early to tell. Either way, I'm heading straight to the OBGYN on Monday. No more messing around. This is getting too serious.

Yeah, yeah... probably best to head straight to the doctor...
that's your safest bet...

Good luck, regardless...😘

I figured I'd wait until the 1st, and if my period doesn't show, I'll buy a test. Whatever it says, I'm hitting the clinic after 7 PM. Can't make it earlier; I have an exam on the 7th.🙂
I don't want to traumatize myself prematurely. The more I dwell on it, the more I start imagining symptoms that might not even be there...

I wanted my breasts to hurt, and now they do. I can't tell if it's real or if I've just talked myself into it... if you know what I mean...
No weird symptoms, aside from some light spotting on Tuesday... like a little bit of blood. Could be pregnancy... plus this sharp twinge in my lower abdomen. Then again, I get those twinges before my period too, so who knows...
Still, I don't want the test to lie to me since it might be too soon. I'm waiting for day 19 after conception... though I think a test could show something by now, I just don't want to waste money.😎 😬
Joshua Clark said:I don't know—honestly, my breasts have never been enlarged before, except during pregnancy, but now they definitely are... I'm going to run another test in about a week or so.

Hmm... Don't sweat it, honey...😘 ... Wishing you were pregnant right now, huh?😘
I'm also waiting on results...

My breasts aren't acting like they usually do during my period in Pennsylvania... They haven't felt any better today, just a tiny bit sore, almost nothing at all... And normally, I'm dealing with a massive amount of symptoms for three days... so we'll see.. Usually, the pain is unbearable for ten days leading up to it...

I'm really curious if I'm going to get my period or if I'm actually going to be a mom...🙂
Samuel Gray4 said:I'm already 20 days late, and the test came back negative...

It’s possible you aren't even pregnant... mine was 25 days late, I had all the symptoms, and still nothing...
And my cycle is usually clockwork, so this delay is weird...
No idea why...

Just go grab a Clearblue... they're the gold standard, results in a minute... haven't had a single false reading yet.
My aunt used one when she was pregnant—did it three days before her period was due and it showed positive in under a minute.

😘
Gregory Williams4 said:Thanks for the warm welcome! I’m really hoping this is finally it... I just took a third test this morning and it was positive too! Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Please, go see a different OB-GYN if you want a second opinion...
Congrats again.😘
Gregory Williams4 said:So, my last period was back on March 16th. Usually, I’m pretty regular—like, every 27 days, no problem. But I took a test today and... yep, positive. I honestly couldn't believe it! So, naturally, I rushed over to my OB-GYN, right? And get this: she looks at me and basically says she doesn't see anything. She told me there's no pregnancy and to just come back in two weeks. Can you believe that? Right after she finishes up, I head straight back to the CVS, grab another test, and—boom—positive again. Seriously? Now I'm just stuck wondering... who do I actually trust here? Should I believe the tests or my doctor?? Help me out, guys!

That doctor sounds completely clueless... "can't see anything"? Give me a break.
There is zero chance a pregnancy test shows positive if you aren't pregnant, especially twice in a row. It's not a coin flip.😘

Anyway, welcome to the club...🙂
Joshua Clark said:Maybe she’s just totally missing the signs—I don't know, maybe she's just being scatterbrained—but a test can't react to a hormone if it isn't there. Bottom line: you're pregnant.

Joshua Clark😘 , glad you finally calmed down a bit... Hope you're feeling better, or not... I don't know... anyway, sending love.😘
Joshua Clark said:Man, if people actually bothered to read everything... 😘
So, here's the deal—during my last pregnancy, I dealt with two instances of spotting. It wasn't even the pain that bothered me—honestly, there wasn't any—it was just the timing. The bleeding stopped ages ago, but they haven't cleared me yet. Usually, they’d have given the all-clear by now, but they're still dragging their feet.
It was the exact same symptom back in the previous one.

No, I’m not going to dwell on it. Once I find out the truth, I’ll probably be a nervous wreck for the rest of the pregnancy—and beyond. For now, I'm giving myself at least another month of "peaceful ignorance"—mostly just to mentally prep for whatever might come next.

I read all of it... but I don't think you did... I have this gut feeling for some reason... I read somewhere he didn't finish inside you, but he didn't wash up either... If those were fertile days, I'd say the chances are 50:50, certainly not 100:0... Then again, you know how long of a break you guys took between...
At the end of the day, if you aren't, I probably am neither...

My situation is getting dangerously messy, but I really want a baby... I don't know what came over me... I'm scared of how my parents will react and how I'll handle it, but... I guess I'll manage... I thought you'd be the first to report results, but looks like I'll be the one... I'm in no rush to hit the CVS, let me have another 7 days...

Anyway, we'll stay in touch. I truly hope things turn out exactly how your heart wants them to.😘 I 🙂
Joshua Clark said:I'd rather keep this private.. 😘

Joshua Clark, I think you just had a heavy cycle... My cramps always linger for a few days after my period ends too... And honestly, any bleeding while using pads counts as menstruation, regardless of how it looks...

John Rodriguez9 said:So, I’m thinking about picking up one of those pregnancy tests along with my boyfriend, just so we can both find out if I’m actually... you know... expecting? But here's the thing: how on earth am I supposed to break the news that I think I might be pregnant without making it super awkward? How do you even start that conversation?😕

Just say it exactly like you did right here.
I don't see why that would be such an issue, considering he's your boyfriend.

Good luck.🙂
Linda Harris8 said:Alright, here’s the deal. I took a test.
Negative.

During my workout today, I felt this sharp pain in my abdomen and started bleeding—but it wasn't my period, just some light spotting...
Has anyone else dealt with something like this?
Could it be related to pregnancy? According to the test—I used an Easy Test—it says I'm not pregnant, but still...
Please, I just need some insight. No judgment, please; I’m not trying to be a nuisance or anything.

That happened to me too, and it wasn't pregnancy.
You didn't mention how late you actually are!

Go see a gynecologist right away. It could be an infection, or in a worst-case scenario, a miscarriage—though honestly, I think it’s just your period. Maybe a hormone shift made it lighter, but it's possible. That was my experience, except I had a hormonal imbalance that required treatment.
So, don't wait. If you haven't gone yet, get to the doctor within the next four days.
Good luck!🙂
ivona_ri said:Hey!
My period was ten days late, so I grabbed a test. It came back positive, but honestly, I’m convinced it’s a false alarm. I read somewhere that pregnancy tests can react to thyroid issues, and my thyroid is already acting up. What do you guys think? Is this just a mistake? I finally managed to book an appointment, but not for another two weeks. This waiting game is killing me.

It is entirely possible you aren't pregnant. A positive result isn't strictly tied to thyroid issues; any kind of hormonal imbalance could throw things off.
Why wait so long for a doctor's visit? Get in there sooner.

By the way, why is this thread even here? Shouldn't this be in the pregnancy section?😲
Henry Cooper6,
If these tests can give false positives, I guess they can just as easily give false negatives.
My advice? Instead of wasting your nerves and money on kits, just wait another week. If your period still hasn't shown up, go see an OB-GYN. They're the only ones who can actually give you a 100% certain answer. Good luck!
P.S.: Mine was 15 days late once—which never happens—and I wasn't even pregnant. It wasn't stress; my hormones were just completely out of whack. They still are!🤣
Sandra Jackson5 said:There are private gynecologists where you don't have to wait a month..🙄
and it was already a mess before this...

Agreed on the private doctors. Honestly, I think she needs to get seen ASAP—it sounds like some nasty bacteria. I haven’t dealt with anything quite like this, so I can't say for sure, but it's definitely trouble.
Elizabeth said:Thanks, ladies, for the replies; it’s driving me crazy having no one to talk to about this. I have to admit, I actually started hoping I was pregnant rather than not. I've already read a mountain of articles online... Thank God my boyfriend took the news so well, though I don't know what I'd do if he hadn't. Telling my parents is the worst part. My sister just got married two months ago, and there's probably another wedding and a baby coming soon... I have no idea where we'll find the money...

Hopefully we'll be celebrating with you soon too... Honestly, as long as you're okay and your man is on board, it's fine. The parents will come around eventually. You matter most right now, and if you were hoping for this pregnancy, then I am too.

I know how it feels. I thought I was pregnant myself (though I wanted it sooner, just not within the next year), and now I regret it. My partner was a little disappointed, so we agreed to try for a baby later, but now everything is up in the air and I don't know how I'll make it until 20. It's not even about the kids, really, it's more about 🙂 , hehehehehhee... 😂 🙂 😂
I told him last night that my hormones are still all over the place, and he just gave me this mischievous grin and said: "Well, we'll have a baby the first chance I get. We aren't jumping straight into three at once," 🤣 😍.
Immediately felt a weight lift off my chest, 😂

And don't stress about the money right now. Money always finds a way... especially for women in your situation, and if your parents are decent people, they won't turn you away regardless of their bank account. Sure, they might be frantic and angry for fifteen days, but by the sixteenth, Mom will be heading out shopping with you... 😘

Anyway, it sucks having no one to talk to. Coffee with a friend soon?
Ugh, you've got us. Feel free to vent and complain as much as you want...

P.S.: Any symptoms yet? When was your last period??? Let's do some math... 😘

P.P.S.: Ugh, just trying to aim these emojis... Uh... 😂
granitefalcon46 said:My loves, thank you all so much. I really hope to hear some good news from you all soon too—that would truly make my day.
Just let me know how you're feeling after hearing this. I'm praying to God that everything stays on track and this pregnancy works out. But staying positive!!!!!

My last period was from October 2nd to the 8th.

OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!
CONGRATULATIONS FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!!
I truly wish you a smooth and easy pregnancy...

😘 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🎉

Don't even think about being anything but optimistic... Go grab a toy for the baby already, haha...😍 🤣

Hopefully Emma and I will be celebrating something like this soon too... hehe
pocahontas said:First off... THANKS for such a detailed reply, seriously, thank you...🙂

Honestly, I think a test would show I'm pregnant... if I had actually been pregnant for this long, but right now I'm just terrified, which is why I even suspected it... Because of the anxiety, I've spent the last few days reading everything under the sun about pregnancy, early symptoms, and all that... but I haven't found anything concrete, so I'm just spiraling... especially since most places say early symptoms are almost identical to PMS... so I probably just turned my PMS into pregnancy anxiety... hopefully it's just PMS...
Though I don't really know when those first signs start, or when they turn into the stronger symptoms that let me know my body is actually changing... or how it changes...
As for the pill, I was on it for two years... stopped six months ago after talking to my OBGYN because it was triggering migraines... I was in a stable relationship back then.... And the guy I did this with wasn't a stranger... we've known each other for years and are close friends... we wanted to try being more than friends, but realized pretty quickly that our friendship works better 🙂 I know that isn't an excuse for unprotected sex... but I'm certain he's healthy...

I don't see this as you lecturing me, just good advice, and I appreciate it...

Regarding the doctor... I've been meaning to go for a while, it's just hard to coordinate since I commute between two cities, and I'm only in the city where my doctor is located on weekends...

Truthfully... I really hope I'm not pregnant... I love kids and would love to have them one day... but I don't think it's time yet, I'm not in a position to have them, and I don't think I'm ready either...

Thanks again for the response... and the advice...
I'll let you know what happens 👍

Best,

I didn't mean to lecture you. Everyone knows their own business.🙂 I'm glad you took my post as advice rather than a lecture.
As for the gynecologist, don't be lazy about going. For instance, my doctor told me once that every woman—especially younger women—should get a Pap smear at least once a year, not to mention regular checkups. Try to organize your schedule and see her. It's not just about pregnancy; it's about general health.
Right now, I'd just recommend you calm down and stop obsessing over being pregnant, because by all accounts, you aren't. Your period could be late for any number of reasons; inflammation, hormonal shifts, a bacterial thing, maybe even stress. Don't let it scare you, I'm just pointing it out. I know my body, just like every woman does. You know yourself too, and you know when something feels off. That's why I suggest seeing the doctor ASAP, even if you already started your period.
They'll be able to tell you best what the issue is and why your cycle is so irregular.
GOOD LUCK and 😘

Wow, looks like the thread exploded with new posts.😁
Glad you're feeling better, Jeffrey Cook55. Just keep doing what you're doing and take care of yourself. We've always got your back.
😘 😘 😘 😘 😘 😘 Good luck moving forward...

P.S.: Heh, have you started shopping with your expensive little toy yet?😁 😘
Snake said:Not at all. You're pregnant.
The fact that you only had one period is a dead giveaway that you're having twins.
One will be a boy with red hair, and the other a girl who marries at 17 and lives a blissfully happy life.
