We lost the battle this past Sunday. We were fighting pancreatic cancer, but things just spiraled out of control. The last two days were the absolute worst—she fell into a liver coma. It was agonizing. When modern medicine basically gave up on her, we tried some alternative routes. She was taking Myco San mushrooms. Honestly, I think they helped clear her liver because her bilirubin levels didn't spike nearly as crazily as they did when she stopped. She was also on 100% chokeberry juice, which I’m convinced helped with her iron levels. Just two weeks before the end, everything was actually within the normal range.
If there's any way I can help or offer advice, please reach out. 🙂
The doctor isn't exactly the strategic type, so I'm just praying she actually knows how to handle this mess. Thanks a million! Seriously, you have more patience than all of us combined. 🙂
Let's just assume that's the case. 😢 So what now? How do we actually make the most of the time we have left?
Nothing but bad news on our end. According to the doctor, things are actually looking worse than they were before the surgery. 😢 They aren't going to give her any therapy at all because her Bilirubin levels are climbing. She’s heading back in for more tests in ten days. Since it's spiking because of what's happening with her liver, is there even any hope it'll drop?! It was around 60 last week, and now it's hit 73. And honestly, we can't wrap our heads around why high Bilirubin is such a dealbreaker for chemo. What would happen if she actually took it?
Look, you know I’ve already gone down that rabbit hole. 😢 I’m just incredibly on edge because of everything going on with Mom, so I’m trying to help her out any way I can.
I won't keep bugging you guys. It really means a lot having you here. 🙂
I’m thinking the exact same thing as you guys. I lost my Mom in such a short amount of time—she had stomach cancer. 😢 Now, it's my mother-in-law. She's the biggest problem here because she is just relentlessly pessimistic. We have the same damn conversations every single day, but nothing ever changes. Personally, I believe that if God helped catch that pancreas issue early enough—especially since the surgery went so well—then there's still hope that everything will turn out okay this time too. It just takes an incredible amount of mental strength to fight a battle this big. My biggest fear is that she’ll just give up because of her mindset. Right after the surgery, she actually told me she knew exactly what was coming her way just so she wouldn't even bother going through with it. 😢 Of course, she turned her nose up at getting any psychological help.
Thanks! After that surgery went well, we actually thought things were finally looking up, but now...😢
Here’s the report from February. She had the Whipple procedure at the start of December. The surgeon told us they got everything out. He was on the fence about chemo, but he ended up recommending it anyway. That last report I showed you was from February, right before she started the chemo cycles. Since then, she’s finished two rounds. I’m not 100% sure which specific drugs they used, just that it's all preventative stuff.

I’m begging you guys—if anyone actually understands these test results, please explain what’s going on in plain English. We have an appointment with the doctor this Wednesday. We already know things aren't looking good, but we have zero clue what the actual problem is. 😢

The AM hormone lab report says my serum sample was hemolytic. Can that actually mess up the results and give me a wrong reading? Thanks!
Same hospital, totally different stories. My time in the ICU was the exact opposite. They wouldn't even let me go to the bathroom alone—had to have a nurse shadowing my every move. And since I wasn't thirsty, they kept badgering me to drink water every five minutes. You really hit the jackpot with that nurse you had. 🤷

I wear contacts. I don't even bring it up unless someone asks me point-blank—without them, I'm basically blind. I've been wearing them for maybe 15 years now, and honestly, I can sleep in them if I have to. My eyesight is pretty much shot, so glasses aren't really an option... Is my current setup a good plan? 😉

Why all the drama over contacts? I used to wear them all the time. You just have to list them on your pre-op anesthesia form. Just don't show up to surgery wearing them. Once you're back in your recovery room, it's easy enough to pop them back in.😁
Don't sweat it, the nurses there are great. Whether you actually get to see a doctor depends entirely on the guy on duty. You can bring your own pills, but they'll give you whatever meds you need once you're settled. Just make sure to pack some toilet paper and hand soap. 😁

Anyone got leads on a solid family doctor in Miami?
St. John's Wort oil in Health ·
Christian Thompson said:I used St. John's Wort oil for my stretch marks. Back when they were still red, I was applying it once or twice a day for about six months, and they just vanished...
Meanwhile, my neighbor keeps slathering that stuff on while she’s out tanning, and now she’s looking darker than a burnt piece of toast.

That worked for me too. My marks didn't disappear completely, but they're way less noticeable now. You just have to be consistent. Plus, the skin gets so soft. That oil beats any overpriced drugstore cream any day.😍
HELP PLEASE - constant binge eating... in Health ·
I doubt a meal plan is actually going to help you. Your issue is clearly psychological—honestly, I’ve been through my own hell with food issues before.
My best advice? Find something to keep you busy so you aren't constantly obsessing over eating. Stop going grocery shopping alone, and tell your family to keep the junk in the house to an absolute minimum.

What could possibly be better than Xanax? Honestly, I thought they were just pushing those herbal gummies again.

Look, I’ve taken them, but strictly for medical reasons. Honestly, I don't know if it's even a smart move for you to be popping those without talking to a doctor first.

If your cycle is textbook (say, 28 days), you still have a little bit of breathing room. Based on yesterday, you were likely around day 11, and ovulation usually hits around day 14... obviously, nothing is a 100% guarantee, but you're in a much better spot than if you had missed it by three or four days.
Fingers crossed for you...

Even with a perfect cycle, anything can happen. Life gets stressful and suddenly your body decides to gift you fertile days right when you think it's impossible. 😬
I thought Chronos was solid. But honestly? Depending on how much cash you blew on it, you probably could've just gone to a local lab and run a beta test for way less. No two ways about it.
