Kate Collins67 said:I suppose I could offer an interpretation, though I might be mistaken here, but it seems you’re dealing with fatty liver disease—steatosis hepatis—stemming from hyperlipoproteinemia, which, assuming you have hypothyroidism, would likely be a consequence of that underlying condition.

If I’m interpreting his point correctly—which I might be wrong about—it seems you're dealing with a fatty liver. Usually, that's a reversible condition, often referred to as NASH. As for why the fat is accumulating, I suppose it could be that your thyroid isn't producing quite enough hormones, which might slow down your metabolism; if that's the case, your body probably just struggles to break down fats efficiently, leading them to settle in the liver. I don't know much more about it than that, I guess.

I suppose I should thank you for the clarification. Fortunately, I don't personally deal with fatty liver issues; this isn't my own medical report. I'm not entirely certain how much weight that carries here, though I imagine there is some connection to be made, given that... I suppose one might call it overweight, though I find such terms rather blunt. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that we're seeing cases of fatty liver when people choose to ignore their doctor's dietary guidelines while simultaneously overdoing it on various medications. It seems like a predictable outcome, I guess.
Emily Moore14 said:Could someone perhaps help me make sense of this doctor's conclusion regarding mild chronic hepatitis occurring alongside thyroid disease?

The report indicates that all my biochemical tests are within the normal range.

Thanks in advance!

I haven't really come across an explanation yet, so if anyone happens to know, I suppose they could try translating this into plain English for me.
Could someone perhaps help me make sense of this physician's conclusion: mild chronic concomitant hepatitis associated with thyroid disease?

The report indicates that all my biochemical markers are within the normal range.

Thanks in advance!
I suppose I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a positive outcome here👍
If you were actually pregnant, you’d probably be nearing the six-week mark by now, which means a test should have given you an answer. I suppose if you truly have the temperament to just wait until your next period or until some other symptom shows up just to be certain, then I guess I have to admire that level of patience. Personally, I don't think I could 😁
Are you anticipating a bit of extra luck, or would a sudden windfall catch you completely off guard?
Snoopy Pregnancy is actually calculated from the first day of your last period, rather than the moment of conception. I suppose you're assuming that this recent bleeding wasn't your actual period, but perhaps just the date you expected it to arrive? If that's the case, maybe it might be worth taking a test now.
Hang in there.
I happened to come across some information suggesting that it’s safe to wait 18 days after ovulation, though I’ve noticed some rather conflicting accounts shared here on the forum
From what I can gather, there’s only a tiny speck visible, which I suppose means even the doctor couldn't be entirely certain about a pregnancy based solely on an ultrasound
The appearance of a second line—even if it's just a faint shadow—indicates pregnancy; that seems to be what every single box claims in the instructions.
If you weren't pregnant, I suppose no line would show up at all, since nothing appeared for me.
Best of luck.
Kenneth Howard2, I find myself tracking every little fluctuation in my cycle each month, constantly hoping for a positive result and losing my patience along the way... just one thing after another. I start my new job this Monday, so I suppose I'll have less time to dwell on it all, which might mean I won't be quite so preoccupied with counting days or obsessing over every symptom.
Chloe Morgan6 and shadowtinker21, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you both. It feels like things aren't exactly ideal right now, but since circumstances are always shifting, I suppose there's reason to stay optimistic. Some people spend their whole lives waiting for the perfect moment, and they end up waiting forever. If your parents are reasonable people, I imagine they'll eventually be proud of how maturely you're handling this "situation," even if there's some initial anger or worry. Once the shock wears off, things will likely turn out better than you expect; once the baby arrives, grandparents usually can't get enough of them.
I'm not much older than you, really—just two years ago I was still in college myself, and I know women who managed to finish their degrees while having babies. It was probably harder for them than it is for me, though perhaps life is easier for them now than it is for me today.
BEST OF LUCK!
My cycles tend to fluctuate between 29 and 35 days, so if I hit day 29 one month and then don't see anything by day 33 the next, I suppose I can never be entirely certain whether it’s actually late or just another instance of a longer cycle 🤷
and I imagine that kind of delay could stem from stress, or perhaps some physiological shift you haven't even consciously noticed, among many other possible factors
So, you're saying you're more than ten days late? If you were actually pregnant, I imagine even the cheapest drugstore test would have caught it by now.

Tests haven't let me down yet—every time my period was late, I’d find myself frantically buying one after another, only to be met with a negative result, much to my disappointment.
Carol Moore27 said:Just wanted to give you guys a quick heads-up, I got my results back from the lab this morning. My temperature has finally dropped too. Everything looks totally normal according to the doctor, so there shouldn't be anything missing or wrong here...😠Anyway, gotta keep moving forward...🙂

I truly wish you the best of luck next time, as if it were my own.
I imagine we'll be waiting for that positive sign together again; this time, I think I'll be more diligent about tracking my temperature too.
I believe she’s referring to some sort of herbal supplement designed to support cervical mucus and regulate cycles, though I suppose there might be quite a bit of discussion regarding those specific methods on the wellness boards here.
It wasn't so much that my period was late, per se, but rather that it coincided roughly with when I expected ovulation to end, right around the time I started experiencing those unusual pains that don't quite fit this part of my cycle. I suppose it's difficult for me to pin down exactly how late I am, given how irregular my cycles tend to be.
Another oddity this month is that I haven't had any of that typical abdominal cramping I usually deal with during my period; I didn't even find myself needing to reach for an Advil 🤷 I wonder if there might be some connection between this and the Marula supplements I've been taking?
I missed out on an M last night, so I suppose there’s always next time.

Chloe Morgan6, I hope you might reconsider having a child eventually. I realize it wasn't planned and that you see pregnancy primarily as a burden right now, but once you're holding a tiny, sweet baby—a whole new person—I suspect you might not regret it as much as you think. If you don't mind me asking, how old are you?
I suppose sarcasm might be the most effective remedy for anxiety
