Raymond Martinez4 said:Our cake is going to be connected and three tiers, too! I chose exactly three because it looks so much better for that style, plus it's safer since the layers are stacked directly. Basically, they're making us a main three-tier cake and then a separate smaller one with the same flavor so we don't run out. Honestly, if you're worried about having enough for 100 people, that seems like your best bet.

I’ve been reading through everything from the start—there is a massive amount of info here—so while I work my way through the archives, I’ll just lay out what we're looking for. If anyone can help, thanks in advance 😛
We’re based in Los Angeles, and the wedding needs to happen within the next 10 months 😉
We both love the outdoors—we have roots in rural areas—and we want a venue near a river that can host up to 200 people (we're finalizing the guest list this weekend)
The main issue: guests are coming from all over the country, so it would be great to get lodging sorted immediately for those traveling from far away
Our wishlist: plenty of food—more than enough—that stays replenished; waiters who are smiling, quick, unobtrusive, yet helpful; a band that covers everything from classic rock to mainstream hits and actually knows how to keep the energy up (I have zero patience for bad performances); and a photographer who can deliver unique shots with the thank-you photos ready by midnight at the latest
Current short list: a local steakhouse in Riverside, a bistro in Riverside, or maybe Castle Slanica at the Radmanov mills...
Viva is already booked, and they were our top pick
Regarding photographers, does Fox seem like the best bet?
And we need to pull all of this together in about 4 months tops...
Thanks to everyone helping me out

I’m in a massive bind here—I need a killer makeup artist in San Diego, and I need them fast... Can anyone point me toward someone who actually knows how to handle wedding makeup? Or even just a high-end beauty salon that won't let me down when the pressure is on?

I'm searching for a band for a wedding in San Francisco and stumbled upon this thread. I have a few groups I'm looking into, and I noticed you've seen The Beach Boys. A couple of my friends have spoken highly of them, so I was wondering if you could send me their contact number and any other details you might have.
Thanks!

Carol Wright4 said:Jose Foster38 I can't speak for Savannah, but I do know that Ms. Horvat over at www.slatka-tajna.com delivers cakes and pastries all the way out there.
Check out one of her cakes—bottom layer is Black Forest, while the top two are walnut and parfait, custom-made. And yeah, those flowers on top are actually fresh.
Jacob Davis9 said:Had the best day ever at Vlaentinovo! The band Viva was playing and honestly, they were unreal. I'm still buzzing from how amazing they were, especially with everyone traveling from all over the States to be there 🙏🙏🙏
If you're looking to book them for your wedding, just do it. You won't regret it 😍😍

Come on, give us more details! We need the tea, photos, whatever else you've got 🙂
David Howard9 said:Well, I actually just tried them 😂😂 we were eating them a whole week later and they were just as delicious!!!
And whereabouts in California?
David Howard9 said:Wait, don't they offer delivery too?! Where exactly are you holding the wedding?
David Howard9 said:Well, I'm honestly not sure when you'd be able to go grab those sweets. When we had our wedding, we actually went through the restaurant where the reception was held, and since they had a special arrangement on pricing with the bakery, it ended up costing us about $25 per pound.
But my guess is, if you decide to order directly from them, the price will probably jump up to $27!!!
David Howard9 said:I've checked into it, and Kashner makes their pastries without any industrial additives or chemicals; I did quite a bit of digging before we decided to go with them!
Michelle Thompson67 said:I am seriously torn between all these cakes! Which one looks the best to you guys???
silentpuma28 said:Blackbird Florist is top-notch 👍 and they can definitely do corsages—you can just coordinate everything with the wife. 😉
Regarding those permits and receipts for the desserts—there's been a lot of talk about it, but I think most venues can still take homemade goods... just double-check with the venue to be safe.
And honestly, you could just buy a few pounds of bakery items, keep the receipt, and just mix them in with the homemade ones... that way you have "coverage" but still get to serve the homemade treats. 😉

Jeremy Wilson5 said:Take my word for it—if there’s one thing you can be certain about, it’s that the music is going to be fantastic.
As for the singer, they actually switched vocalists a few months back. The previous girl was incredible, and I think the new one is just as talented, so there really isn't much of a difference in quality.
