So, if you miss a single day, it’s basically out of your body?

I am truly at a loss for where to begin; perhaps I should find a suitable venue to document these thoughts.
I wouldn't go so far as to say it’s entirely absent from his system, but there simply isn't enough present to maintain stable levels of serotonin and norepinephrine.
I recall seeing some discussions on this forum where members mentioned noticing a distinct difference in their Alzheimer's symptoms if they happened to miss even a single day of their medication.
I occasionally find myself forgetting to check in with Alice, and I don't mention anything to anyone else either; it is quite similar to how things used to be back when I was on Zoloft.
The people who actually consume it will be able to give you the most accurate feedback, so for the time being, I suggest you simply follow your doctor's instructions. As for those issues with sleep, you should definitely bring that up during your next check-up. 🙂

Apologies, I seem to be having some technical difficulties with my phone and the quoting function here. 😢
Anyway, I simply wanted to observe how much we all differ in our approaches.
I personally wouldn't dream of going without my psychiatrist, though I have read that medication can indeed be helpful for some.
It just strikes me as unusual... do both of you really take such a high dosage at night?
Brandon Lopez6, is that the only antidepressant you are currently prescribed?
As for shadowbear9, I understand that her prescription is specifically for insomnia.

Brandon Lopez6 said:Ambien for sleep? In my experience, that won't do squat for you. I take 4x10mg before bed and it doesn't knock me out at all.

shadowbear9 said:I have to agree; there are zero side effects for me. Honestly, it just makes you feel good, and I mean, any normal person needs decent sleep. I wake up the next day feeling totally energized and upbeat. I actually wonder why they didn't prescribe this to me sooner, since it's been curing my insomnia for about four or five years now.
The only issue is that I have to take four pills at once to finally feel settled. I guess I’ll have to ask my doctor to write a prescription for a higher dosage next time, though I suppose there shouldn't be any bureaucratic issues with getting it filled... even if she has already been quite accommodating by giving me two refills in just two weeks. I told her straight up, "Please, help me out, I sleep like a baby with this stuff—it's a miracle drug." It's such a relief to finally find something that actually works. <3

It seems we are all different creatures.😢

Anyway, I will ask my psychiatrist when I see her next. Otherwise, is it normal to take such large doses? I noticed both of you are taking quite a bit.

Why didn't they try tapering off the Jane Doe, or maybe just taking it every other day to see how it worked?

You can take some ibuprofen if you develop a headache.
I don't recall the exact specifics anymore, though I believe we did try dropping from two pills down to just one of the 37.5mg tablets, but it didn't do much to alleviate those side effects. Lowering the dosage feels futile, and skipping doses—like taking it every other day—doesn't really work with Jane Doe. Unlike certain other antidepressants, this one leaves your system quite rapidly; if you miss even a single day, you're going to feel it.

Most likely... nothing at all.☕

I’m currently on 75 mg, plus 45 mg of Calixta, then there's the 200 mg of Q-pin, along with 25 mg of Lamal... and then Zonadin, though honestly, I can't even remember the dosage anymore. And the result? Absolutely nothing. Not a single thing! Does anyone else feel like they're just throwing pills at a wall at this point? It feels completely futile.

Does an organization eventually just... get used to the nonsense? Is that how it works? You start out with such high ideals, such a drive for excellence, and then, bit by bit, the chaos starts to feel normal. It’s like you stop noticing the cracks in the foundation because you've been tripping over them for so long. Does the culture just slowly rot from the inside until everyone is just nodding along to the absurdity? How does that even happen? It feels inevitable sometimes, doesn't it? Such a tragedy.😢

Taylor Swift, you're loaded with pills. I’m not criticizing you; on one hand, I’m glad you finally found a regimen that works, but on the other, I’m almost envious that you're still functioning despite all that. If you don't mind me asking, what is your diagnosis? With the Lamal and Q-pin, there must be some psychotic elements involved.

I actually have an old box of Calixta and Q-pin sitting at my house. I tell my doctor that whenever I lose touch with reality, I take them to sleep. You might think I'm lying, but two nights ago I took 7.5 Calixta and it took me two and a half days to fully come to.
I was already called in for an appointment at that sleep clinic over in Seattle, but I didn't go. Honestly, I was afraid the doctor there would disappoint me; my psychiatrist knows him, and she was hoping he might be more insightful regarding sleep issues than she was, but it turned out to be nothing. Just keep taking those (Elicea in the morning, and Pfizer for years at night).
Even John Doe didn't work for me; I’ll talk to my doctor about perhaps giving it another shot.
By the way, I was in contact with my former psychiatrist, and she mentioned that if she were treating me, she would put me on Elicea along with Seroxat, and perhaps Prazine or Ziprex for sleep.

Why prescribe two nearly identical antidepressants? I didn't follow through with that. Aside from Prazine, I tried it and tossed it.

Maybe try Ambien for sleep? I have so many questions...
Or perhaps some intense relaxation exercise before bed, and then let the Pfizer do its job.

I know I'm being tedious, but what can I do.

I find myself contemplating the essence of Monoke lately. It is a concept that demands a certain level of introspection to truly grasp. kaže:
I am currently at 37.5 mg, and so far, the only side effect I’ve experienced is an elevated heart rate. I can't help but wonder what would happen if I were to move up to 75 mg.😕

Well, I honestly can't say for certain. I never actually experienced any issues with my heart rate, so they just instructed me to take all my medications in the morning to help deal with my insomnia.
We finally called it quits because I was acting like I was on a non-stop bender of cocaine and speed all day long; it was just too much to handle. At least I wasn't dealing with the anxiety. 🙂
I suppose I am not the best case study here. Many people speak highly of Effexor, and in my estimation, it would be an excellent solution. Unfortunately—and it truly is a disappointment—my medical profile strictly prohibits any medication that affects norepinephrine or dopamine levels. If that restriction weren't in place, Effexor would be the ideal choice for me. I faced a very similar predicament when I was evaluating Cymbalt, and to a slightly lesser extent, Lyric.
I would strongly advise against consuming coffee or tea first thing in the morning.

shadowbear9 said:Well, it's not strictly mandatory, but my therapist suggested I switch things up after I mentioned how much I've been struggling to sleep. But honestly, for 10 tablets, $8.25 is just way too much. I tried Flurazepam before and it was expensive garbage—just like Xanax. In my opinion, Valium is the only one that actually works, and since it's covered by my plan, it’s basically free. Talk about irony... though, I suppose I still want to try that famous Ambien eventually. I can always just tell my primary care doctor to put me back on Valium whenever I want, right?

You can always revert to Valium if you need to. Using Ambien will simply knock you out, which isn't necessarily the goal. If you finally decide to make a change, try not to let the transition stretch beyond three weeks; that should cover about two bottles.

jadehawk8 said:Is it possible that my ADHD meds actually spiked my anxiety? I've been feeling this intense fear of passing out all afternoon. I tried taking some Xanax 0.25mg with it, but honestly, it hasn't done much for me yet.

It is entirely possible. My advice would be to remain patient and simply push through these side effects. 🙂

Tox and quietwalker5,

It is true, that level of stimulation can be quite intense. Perhaps you should reach out to your physician and see if they would permit you to take your entire dosage in the morning specifically to address your insomnia.

shadowbear9 said:Is anyone here currently taking Amyzol? If so, I would be incredibly grateful if you could share some insights regarding its effects.

Additionally, I am looking into Dormicum. My intention is to eventually transition away from Sanval to break that dependency, but I read somewhere that Dormicum only comes in a 20-count pack and seems to be quite overpriced.

Could anyone offer some guidance on this?
🙂

Do you absolutely have to move to Ambien? If possible, I would suggest trying to go without it entirely. I was on it for a very long time, and lately, I find it hardly has any effect at all, so I eventually found myself returning to Valium.
Regarding the cost, it usually comes in 10-count packs for about $8.25. Insurance typically won't cover it unless you are actually admitted to a hospital and they administer it prior to a procedure.

jadehawk8 said:I honestly think it’s just a fear of the pills themselves... I have so many anxieties right now that I can't even keep track of them all anymore😢 and it's all hit me at once...
Today, about an hour after I took my Helix, the dizziness and restlessness kicked in hard—I'm pretty sure it was a panic attack. The worst part is feeling like I just have to lie down or hide away until it passes.😢It settled down after an hour, though. I'm convinced it was the anxiety talking, not the Helix itself.😢
Sigh... will this ever end? Sending you guys nothing but the best.---😉😍

It will pass. 🙂
Try to convince yourself that these sensations will fade once the antidepressant wears off, which is exactly what happens. 🙂
And yes, sometimes the anxiety actually ramps up slightly at the beginning.
Personally, I didn't experience any fear when I first started; I just assumed everything happening to me was because I was coming down with a minor illness. Back then, nobody had warned me about side effects, and I didn't have access to the internet or anything similar.
If I were to switch my antidepressant today, the side effects would probably hit me before I even made it to the pharmacy. 😁
Sometimes I think it might be better if we knew less. Still, having a forum like this is incredibly helpful.

Anxiety regarding medication 😢
It’s perfectly normal to feel this way. I've consulted with mental health professionals, and you aren't going to make things worse by taking an antidepressant alongside Helix, but if it gives you peace of mind, just leave a gap between doses.
The one thing you absolutely must avoid taking simultaneously is an antidepressant paired with an opioid analgesic—things like Dorothy or Tramadol, basically anything containing Tramadol. Though, I assume you aren't on those; I am, which is why I'm mentioning it.
And don't bother with herbal remedies; stick to what we've discussed.
The pharmacists at the local CVS know their stuff, and honestly, feel free to ask them for more clarification. They actually seem genuinely happy when someone asks a real question instead of just looking for Tums or Advil. 🙂

redranger2 said:It isn't covered, so don't worry about that. You might want to try Vair; it might not leave you feeling so completely wiped out. For me,
it worked perfectly, and I never dealt with any daytime grogginess. I sincerely hope you have better luck with it.

With Calixt, I suffered from terrible headaches and a constant hangover sensation, and it altered my temperament so much that I became incredibly argumentative—which is strange, because I'm a pretty easygoing person.😍

Thank you, I really should try it out and see how it goes. 🙂

Wait, I'm not following you. You're taking 25 mg and it's pinning you to the bed? How long has it been since you started?
In the beginning, it’s common for low doses to act that way, but over time
you develop a tolerance to the medication, and that morning gloom and drowsiness
eventually subside. At least, that was my experience.

I am not taking it anymore. I took it for ten days a while back, but I wouldn't even know my own name until five in the afternoon, so I decided to stop because that sedation just wouldn't let up. Perhaps I should have pushed through it, but my doctor told me that if it doesn't work initially, it won't work later. It was the exact same situation with Calixt.

That's great that it isn't covered; I know that Q-pin won't be covered by insurance unless you have a specific diagnosis for it, and my anxiety and depression diagnosis doesn't cover that.

I agree, it’s sedating, but I haven’t even known my own mind since I was 25, and I was really hoping this would finally be the breakthrough.
Look, I’m going to ask my doctor about that Vair; I assume you have to pay out of pocket for that? I know the Associated Press rates for these things are steep, and there’s no point in buying it if it isn't going to work. Honestly, I’ll just ask my doctor to prescribe a trial dose first. But nothing for another month or two—I'm practically bedridden right now, 😢 not because of my mental state, 🙂 just currently 🙂
Yeah, yeah, 🙂 I think you and I are on the exact same page regarding that.

redranger2 said:Yes, redranger2 was on it for a year, though I eventually had to stop due to the side effects.😁 It doesn't cause addiction, because I was able to wean myself off in just three days and switch over to a different AP.
At low dosages, the side effects aren't particularly significant; for me, things only started getting problematic once I hit the 100 mg mark.
Rachel could probably weigh in on this too, since she takes it.

I'm actually quite jealous of you and Rachel 😁
Just kidding, obviously.
I just wish that 25 mg dose wouldn't affect me so I could finally sleep like a normal person. What are you using for sleep these days?

Does Dr. J actually get back to you when you ask her something? I mean, does she ever reply via text? I can handle the idea that maybe I offended her somehow or that she just doesn't care about my case. But honestly, she just told me "you know" because she’s returning from vacation in September. That felt... dismissive. Anyway, I went ahead and scheduled an appointment with another doctor I've known for a while for tomorrow. She squeezed me in right away, which I'm so relieved about—it’s just nice to feel like someone actually cares. I really don't get why Dr. J is acting this way toward me. On top of that, she’s incredibly expensive and just so cold. Maybe it's better if I stop seeing her altogether. I still think she's knowledgeable, though, since I've read her articles on WebMD.

There you are; I was just wondering where you had disappeared to.
She'll respond, yes, though perhaps not on the very same day.
But I suspect she's traveling right now, maybe abroad, which is likely why she isn't responding.
Regardless, if she wasn't a good fit for you—and the most important thing is finding someone who is—it's better to see someone else.

I suppose it’s probably not 10 mg after all. Honestly, if Normabel does the trick for you, I'd suggest sticking with it. It's also one of the few medications deemed safe enough for pregnant women, so there's some peace of mind there.
Currently, I am taking Normabel myself, primarily to address other issues, but it does have a relaxing effect.
That said, whenever I find myself caught in the middle of a full-blown panic attack, nothing seems to work quite as effectively as Xanax. If you aren't dealing with those specific panic symptoms, I would recommend staying with Normabel.

Talk soon.
I am currently looking to acquire Kim Wilde's maxi-singles on vinyl, though I am passing on The Second time.
