Harold Williams said:Does anyone know where I can pick up a full box of Kinder Pingui in town? I’ve been wandering through several different Target and Walmart locations lately and haven't had any luck finding them... and I really need the actual original packaging for what I'm doing, so if someone could point me toward a store that definitely has them in stock, I would be so incredibly grateful 🙂.

You can find those bulk boxes at Costco; they sell them specifically for larger shoppers.🙂

I'm not sure if they've updated their gear lately... because just a few years back, their photos looked like they were taken in a different century.👎

I actually held my wedding reception at Đerm and we were incredibly happy with everything. The food was fantastic... we had these fried stuffed peppers with cheese that were just amazing! Plus, the owners of Đerm also run their own butcher shop over at Union Square.

I honestly can't believe they didn't bother to list the location in the wedding expo announcement... but I guess that kind of thing is just par for the course around here.👎

Where are you planning on picking up your flowers in Des Moines, and what kind of budget are we talking about?
My in-laws are coming to visit in Mimi on August 7th this year, but I haven't even started looking at floral arrangements yet, and honestly, I don't even know what my full checklist should look like🤷🙈.
We only got engaged three weeks ago, so we rushed ahead and booked the venue and the band,
but everything else is a complete blank; I have no idea what needs to be done next. It's a mess.

Also, can anyone point me in the right direction for getting thank-you notes made?
Do I get those where I pick up the invitations, or is that something through the photographer? I'm totally lost when it comes to the essential details.
And I’m still flying blind regarding the packages in Mimi... they wouldn't even tell us the pricing for the different hall options, even though we already put down a deposit. They just brushed us off and said they'd let us know once we sat down for a formal meeting. But how am I supposed to plan anything if I don't even know the price points or what's actually included in each package?!
Help me out, guys... I'm struggling because I'm expected to organize everything while being completely in the dark, and my fiancé is all the way in Germany...

There's a place in Des Moines called Grafoart where a lady can custom-make whatever invitations or thank-you notes you want, and they have a huge selection of ready-made samples too. You can even browse some designs at http://www.pozivnice.org

boldcrane143 said:So, here is the situation... I have been considering making the party favors myself for quite some time now. It might not seem like such a massive undertaking for a group of 600 people if someone actually had the spare time available.
However, between my various daily responsibilities, I simply cannot find a moment to sit down and get them done.
I did hear a rumor that that specific woman over in Ivankov also makes these favors. But then I overheard a price point of roughly $1.50 -$0.67 per unit!
Is that even remotely realistic? Hmm...

Anyway, I just sent you a PM about the party favors.
Bye👋

Roger Stewart2 said:Hey ladies! Just wanted to jump in here and join the wedding talk because—get this—my big day is actually right around the corner, and honestly, who better to vent to than you guys...🙂
So, here's the deal: we’ve decided to go a bit off the beaten path and host the whole thing right at our house. If anyone here has actually pulled off a home wedding before, please, for the love of God, share your wisdom! We’re living in Indianapolis, and the plan is to keep it super intimate—just about 20 people, mostly family and our closest friends. We'll have the officiant come directly to the house, though I know they're gonna charge us an arm and a leg for the privilege =$600, and right now I'm in the middle of negotiating with a local catering company to handle all the food and drinks. In my head, everything looks absolutely perfect and dreamy, but let's be real—we won't truly know how it turns out until it actually happens...

🙂I really think it's going to be wonderful; there's nothing like that relaxed, cozy home vibe. I've heard great things about that catering company, too. You'll be able to make it look just like something out of a movie, all romantic and stuff😉 Anyway, good luck👍

Back in the day, you knew exactly which customs belonged to which small towns or neighborhoods🙂.🙂 But nowadays, everything has just kind of blended together. You have so many people moving here from places like Canada with their own traditions, and honestly, parents🙂 don't really call the shots anymore. In most cases, the newlyweds are the ones calling the tune, designing their own weddings🙂 and just cutting out whatever parts they don't feel like doing🙂.

Joshua Clark said:That’s too little—and honestly, it depends entirely on what kind of cookies we're talking about. A chocolate fudge brownie isn't exactly the same weight as a coconut macaroon or a classic sugar cookie—it's just weird math to me.

Actually, I don't think it's too little at all. Not everyone has a sweet tooth, and you also have to factor in the full cakes. Besides, these women are booked up months in advance for their baking gigs, so they definitely aren't amateurs—they've been doing this professionally for years.
We just had a wedding in our family recently, and there was still plenty of dessert left over to toss in the freezer, even with all the kids attending the reception.🙂

Joshua Flores said:I think it was something like 1 pound for every 6 people... though maybe I'm wrong.

Back when I worked at a local shop—which unfortunately ended up closing down—we used to have quite a few ladies coming in who specialized in baking, and they always suggested calculating about four treats per person.😉

Brian Cooper4 said:Hey ladies—has anyone here worked with that Fullhouse agency out of Vinkovci on invitations? They sent an offer to my inbox, and I'm trying to gauge if they're actually any good... we're basically stuck with whatever we find here in Chicago. Also, does anyone know a reliable print shop in Slavonski Brod? I’m heading there this Sunday to visit my grandma and some relatives, so if you have any solid recommendations, let me know. Thanks.

If they're on Facebook, then it’s definitely Fullhouse. I actually know the owner; they have a really solid selection of invitations and thank-you cards from several different suppliers. I know they make a real effort to keep prices affordable and they'll do a decent job for you.

I also know Ms. Susan from Đakovo—that GrafoArt place mentioned earlier. She's wonderful too. Honestly, whichever one you pick, you won't go wrong...😉
