Thanks. Haven't heard of those before... I'll ask my OB-GYN if she even carries the ones you mentioned... 🙂Logest used to be incredible for me, like I wasn't drinking anything at all. How much are they actually going for now? Are you picking them up here in the States, or back home? When I bought Logest, they were around... $23 Feels like that, but it was over a year ago... prices might have gone up by now.
vividdriver11 said:I had the exact same experience, and the weight finally started coming off after about four months. I ended up gaining seven pounds total over the year I spent on them to manage my PCOS, and the water retention was just brutal—by the third month of taking Diana, I could barely squeeze into my jeans, and that was with me being incredibly careful about everything I ate. I felt constantly bloated🤷. Since then, I’ve switched to Yasmin and have been on it for three years; during that time, I’ve only gained two pounds, mostly because I don't eat particularly healthy and I rarely have the time to whip up a home-cooked meal every day. I shudder to think what would have happened if I’d stayed on Diana given my current diet; they are definitely the worst of the bunch when it comes to weight gain, even if they were admittedly very effective for my specific symptoms. For what it's worth, neither I nor my family are typically prone to putting on weight. How much longer are you stuck taking them?
Nathan Baker said:If I decide to go digging through Google, I’ll likely find endless threads on various forums claiming that every single pill on the market causes weight gain 😂. Meanwhile, if you actually bother asking a doctor, they'll mostly just tell you these things increase your appetite rather than actually putting food in your mouth . Generally speaking, for those who struggle with weight gain while taking something like Diane, doctors usually suggest switching over to Yasmin, or occasionally Cilest. But honestly, none of them seem to tackle the visible side effects of PCOS—like the acne you're dealing with—quite as effectively as Diane does .
rowdylynx38, thanks for sharing. I’ve got six months left, but my doctor told me to call if things go south. Got an appointment in 20 days. Sigurna, I don't have PCOS. The acne is just part of a different hormonal imbalance; PCOS isn't the cause here. I've never heard anyone complain about weight gain or water retention with other pills as much as they do with Diane. And don't even get me started on cellulite. I never had a trace of it before this...
Nathan Baker said:I find that part a little hard to swallow, if I’m being honest. It reminds me of that old cliché: "I don't eat anything, yet I'm still gaining weight."
You don't have to believe me. That's your call. Just look it up or ask around and you'll see that Diane is pretty much the only contraceptive with such a notorious side effect. That’s why they aren't used as standard birth control unless someone is being reckless. Not sure why you think you'd lie to yourself or everyone on this forum, but whatever 🤣. My OB-GYN confirmed the weight gain for me too—she actually said they cause more water retention than any other pill. When I first started them, my main priority was fixing my skin because my face was a total disaster. I'm not saying my diet is perfect, but I work out way more now than I ever did before, and I still gained weight. Plus, I never dealt with cellulite until I went on Diane. Before those, I was on Logest for five years and everything was fine. No side effects at all.
For those of you who packed on weight from Yaz, how long did it take to get back to your old self after you quit? I've been on them for 9 months now and I've gained 12 pounds😢. Thinking about ditching them for something else, even though these were prescribed for my acne. I was on Loestrin before this and never had these issues, but since switching to Yaz, I've even developed cellulite . Mind you, I've been hitting aerobics four times a week for the last year, plus plenty of cycling and rolling around. My diet hasn't changed at all. Nothing extra .
Laura Mendoza said:Don't you worry about a thing. Since you got started early, you'll probably receive every subsequent box two days ahead of schedule, meaning you'll be starting your weekly routine on Tuesday instead of Thursday. You're perfectly covered, so there's absolutely no cause for panic. 😉 It would only be an issue if you had started two days late; since you actually started two days early, you really have nothing to worry about.
Thanks so much for the reply 🙂. I'll definitely be more careful next time 😁.
I completely messed up. I just realized today that after my 7-day break, I was supposed to take the first pill from the new pack tonight (Thursday evening). Instead, I took the first one Tuesday night, the second on Wednesday night, and the third one today (Thursday)... So, I should have only taken the first one today 🤦. Now, what should I do? Did I mess up my current cycle by taking two pills too early? I started bleeding on Tuesday, but the flow has been incredibly light for the last two days—almost non-existent. Could that be because I took those two pills ahead of schedule? Second question: how do I handle this? Should I just keep going with the rest of the pack as usual, or should I just stop for this month? And how reliable is my protection right now, considering I won't have two pills left at the end since I started early and will finish the pack early?
So, I went down to Chase today to clear things up.
That $4 charge? It's some "account maintenance fee." Apparently, they hit me twice because of it. This service is just automatically enabled for everyone with checking or savings accounts, so they just skim money every month. I asked what happens since I only get deposits during the summer and maybe once or twice more a year, and the teller told me they'll charge it regardless of whether there was activity. Basically, if I don't put any money in until summer, they're just going to snatch all those back fees the moment my first deposit hits. As for why my card got declined at the register, it's because you have to leave $13 in the account if you're using an Intel card for a point-of-sale purchase. They won't let you drain the last $13 like that. I finally told her this definitely wasn't the case before, because I know I used to be able to spend every cent on my card (just a few months ago). She just told me both things—the fee and the $13 requirement—are new rules from a couple of months back.🙄...
Mokry and Boky, alright. I'll start by calling the help line tomorrow to see what they say. If they're clueless, I'll head down to Chase 😉 later this week. Honestly, I have no idea what else it could be.
rapidskipper12 said:There’s no way they’re charging you just to check your balance. Just walk into a Chase branch and ask them to print out your transaction history from the last couple of months...
Look, I'm telling you, I don't have any other services active. But every single time I check my balance, they hit me for exactly a few bucks. I don't need to ask for a statement because I haven't had a single deposit or anything since early September... It feels like some kind of catch with those Comcast ATMs that clearly aren't part of the JPMorgan Chase network 🤷. Maybe I'll call JPMorgan Chase tomorrow if they even have a customer service line I can reach, or maybe an email address for stuff like this 😉.
rapidskipper12 said:Do you have e-statements, online banking, or anything like that set up for this account?
Basically, JPMorgan Chase has a system where they collect those fees right after money hits the account. You might have a service fee of 4 or $1.75, or a statement fee, etc. That’s probably what hit you.
As for the declined transaction, you should've called the authorization center immediately to ask why it was declining (assuming you actually had the funds) and if there was some kind of hold on the card.
No, I don't use any of those services 🤷. That's why I think they're just charging me for checking my balance at those local ATMs, whatever they are. I don't have anything else active on there. I'm a college student and mostly just work three months during the summer, plus whenever extra gigs pop up. That's the only time I ever see deposits hit this account.
Hope I can ask this here without starting a whole new thread.
So, a few days ago, a friend sent me a small amount ($23) to my JPMorgan Chase account (using my Visa Electron card) so I could mail her a magazine she couldn't find locally. A couple of days later, I checked my balance at an ATM and noticed I was short by a few bucks compared to what should have been there ($22). I went to pick up the magazine (it's $17) and swiped my card, but the cashier told me the transaction was declined. We tried twice, but nothing worked—just straight declines—even though I had almost $6.75 extra in the account. I’d actually planned on giving the cash to the bus driver when I handed him the magazine. Since the card wouldn't work, I just paid cash for the magazine instead. When I went back to the same ATM to check my balance again, I saw I only had $21 😕 left. I looked at the receipt and it says "MBNET ATM," even though there was a big, bright JPMorgan Chase sign right above the machine, so naturally, I assumed it was theirs. Now I'm stuck on two things. Is it actually possible for an ATM to charge me a few cents just to check my balance 😕? Because I haven't withdrawn any cash from it at all. And second, why couldn't I pay for a $17 magazine when I had 66 in the account? Anyone have any idea what's going on...
Grace Jones3 said:Look, you aren't "missing" anything—you're just gonna end up quitting early. It’s like thinking you can change when your period actually starts; like, if you want it to show up sooner, you just take fewer pills. That's how it works.
Great, thanks so much. I had no idea that was how it worked; I always just finished the whole pack. Thanks again. I promise I'll stay far away from any drains from now on😁.
Grace Jones3 said:Look, just drink it like you always do—you’ll end up finishing a day early, and maybe your period shows up a day sooner too. Then everything's fine.
Really? You sure it's all good? The box has a specific count for a reason, and missing one makes me nervous...🤷 ...
Look, this might be a stupid question, and I'm sure someone else has already asked it here...🤦 ...
Yesterday, I went to take my pill and it slipped right down the kitchen sink drain. Instead of panicking, I just took the one meant for tomorrow. Now I'm stuck wondering... since I'll eventually be one pill short at the end of the pack, what’s the move? Should I just go grab a whole new pack just to replace that single missed dose? 😕

I'm 25. My period usually runs late, but never by more than 5 or 6 days. Now I'm nearly a month late 😲, which has honestly never happened before... Not pregnant—my boyfriend and I are careful with birth control—but I took a test just to be sure. It was negative. My OBGYN can't see me for another 10 days because the receptionist couldn't squeeze me in sooner. I'm getting a little worried about why it's this late 😢. Sure, I'm stressed, but I've been under way more pressure than this before and it never messed with my cycle this badly.
I forgot to mention my skin is a total disaster right now too. My face, shoulders, and chest are covered in breakouts...
Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I'm going to lose my mind waiting those 10 days for my appointment 😢.

Pregnancy isn't the issue—my boyfriend and I are careful with birth control—but I took a test just to be safe, and it was negative. The gynecologist can't see me for another ten days because the nurse couldn't squeeze me in any sooner. I'm getting a bit anxious about why it's delayed this much 😢. Sure, I've been stressed lately, but I've dealt with way worse pressure in the past without it ever messing with my cycle like this.

granitewalker17 said:but I already paid shipping through $6.75....what's the standard rate when I ship it that way anyway... paying shipping twice is just stupid....😠
granitewalker17 said:Sent a package via UPS on Tuesday... paid the shipping upfront and the COD was $38... Now she’s claiming it arrived, but tells me she already paid the driver $44....😱
What's the point now? If it had been $1.75, fine, at least it makes sense. But this...😢
Looks like she covered the shipping too. It adds up since shipping is about 16 or $5.75. Maybe there was just a misunderstanding at the FedEx counter or something. Just Venmo her those $5.75 and call it a day 😉.
