Let's see how those predictions hold up once Red Bull isn't running the class of the field. 😉 Then he'll be back to his usual complaining.

Look, Vettel had an incredible car today, but most of the time he hasn't. Besides that, he drove a flawless race at a really high level.

As for the whining, well, Vettel isn't Alonso.☕
jadeseal7 said:Comparing Vettel to legends like Schumacher, Prost, or Senna is just plain wrong.

Schumacher grabbed his titles using the same kind of momentum Vettel has now.

Most of the time, Vettel didn't have nearly as much of a dominant car as Schumacher did during most of his runs... or his championships.
David Anderson72 said:Man, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.🙂

Honestly, your posts alone show exactly how much you actually know. 😛
slydrifter39 said:Kimi vs Alonso in this race: 1:0. Alonso was stuck behind the Force India for six laps, while Kimi made his moves when it actually mattered.

True, though that last move on Button wasn't quite as brutal given he was running on completely shot tires. Still, it doesn't take away from how aggressive that third-place finish was. Plus, we have to factor in he only pitted once, giving him a 30-second advantage.
jadeseal7 said:Kimi left because Ferrari treated him like a second-class driver. He didn't have the absolute authority that Vettel had to just call the shots.

You get what you deserve. Honestly, he should have done more with the car he was driving. They decided he wasn't part of their long-term plan and cut him loose. Looking back, whoever they brought in instead achieved basically nothing. Now they’re circling back to Kimi, who will likely achieve nothing too. Typical Ferrari management.

He jumped back into Formula 1 after three years and immediately started grabbing podiums and wins with a less-than-stellar Lotus.

Exactly. A "brilliant" Lotus. Using the word brilliant is doing a lot of heavy lifting compared to how that Lotus was performing before Kimi arrived.

Kimi built his career through pure talent, while Vettel just rode a brilliant car. That's the bottom line.

You've got one flaw in that logic... the actual results suggest this isn't about facts, just wishful thinking.🙄
jadeseal7 said:Don't let anyone tell you McLaren dominated this year. It was a total slugfest between them and everyone else right up until the final race.

Honestly, it feels like McLaren only really found their footing once Kimi left, while Ferrari started falling behind the moment he arrived.

Try selling it to my godmother at the farmer's market; she might actually take you up on it. 🤣

Just thinking back to what Kimi did at McLaren in 2005. He had the stamina to finish a race just like a Yugo could actually make it to its destination. 93 milesI'm not sure what you're looking for. Give me something to work with.

So, did Kimi only spend 2005 at McLaren? And what was the team like after he left? Time to do some homework. 🙄

Vettel has such a dominant car that when it’s gone, he basically disappears, which says everything you need to know about him. Total fraud.

All the stats say otherwise. This race was something special, sure, but most other races just make you feel like you're lying. ☕
Did you just start watching Formula 1 this season? Based on those comments, I’m starting to wonder.
Jason Campbell70 said:Maybe the fact that he’s beaten them by double digits in head-to-head overtakes? 🤷

Who are we talking about? Cars struggling on dead tires or just slower machinery?

If he’s got xx overtakes, then what was Hamilton or Weber sitting at? ☕
Olivia Martin12 said:And then there’s how he just casually leans his left hand against the barrier—as if it were nothing. Nobody can pull that off. Absolutely nobody. 🙏 🙏 🙏

I'm with you. The guy probably makes even going to the bathroom look effortless. 🙏 🙏

Nobody does it quite like him. 🙏 🙏
Tyler Bennett5 said:Kudos to Mark and Lewis. Huge congrats to Nico Rosberg on taking the win.
I mean, what exactly did Fernando Alonso do today to make his fans feel so vindicated?
Was it just because the guys ahead of him either blew their tires or had to retire?
Felipe Massa started right behind him, but after that tire failure, he had such a massive struggle just to limp back to the pits
that he ended up finishing only 7 seconds behind Alonso.

Hamilton was the same way—after his tire popped, he was practically in last place, yet still finished right behind Alonso.

Then there's Weber, who nearly wrecked right at the start but still managed to cross the line ahead of Alonso.

But hey, let the kids have their fun. ☕
shadowstag10 said:Yeah, I get that, but I think we can all agree that if you look at the whole weekend—qualifying and the race combined—the Ferrari was a total disaster compared to Red Bull Racing and Mercedes-Benz. So, I don't see the point in trying to nitpick Alonso's incredible drive; in my book, Hamilton and Webber weren't any better, but they weren't worse either. Mad respect to those three, and I'm not trying to bash anyone here.
Personally, I’d put Massa and di Resta right behind them, and honestly, Rosberg didn't do much of anything for me—it felt like a carbon copy of how Vettel would've looked if he hadn't dealt with that mechanical failure.

If this kind of commentary became the norm on this thread, I wouldn't mind one bit. Actually, I'm totally on board. I don't really have anything to add to what was said. 😁

Cheers! 👋
shadowstag10 said:Yeah, sure, but we're talking about *this* specific race, buddy.

They had a three-week break and actually showed some progress. Honestly, what they pulled off probably deserved a heavy penalty, but that’s just F1 for you.

If they keep up this kind of momentum for the rest of the season, we might be looking at them being faster than Ferrari, and maybe even Red Bull Racing.
darkmarlin16 said:Where did all these clones even come from? Did they just roll in straight from the EU or something?

🙂

😍

Trol, you can tell the adults are talking here, which makes you pretty much unnecessary. Go away! ☕
Jason Campbell70 said:Yeah, just like I said.

That’s hardly an excuse, though. These tires are basically garbage across the board. But hey, that’s the kind of hardware F1 leadership decides to roll out.
shadowstag10 said:Don't even start with that nonsense—Ferrari actually has the best race pace on the grid. They're easily 2 seconds faster than Red Bull and Mercedes, maybe even 3 if you're counting.

I'm not saying Ferrari is perfect, but if Red Bull and Mercedes were actually better, we'd be seeing it.

Red Bull Racing has a slightly better car—though nothing crazy was obvious in Spain—but Mercedes-Benz hasn't had a better car until this race.

The previous races all showed that. You have to look at the full race distance, not just one qualifying lap.
Amanda Williams13 said:Ferrari is basically a dumpster fire compared to Red Bull and this version of Mercedes (who looks like they finally actually sorted their act together during the break). Maybe it’s got something to do with what Fred Vasseur is up to? ☕

What a disaster we saw from Massa today. He’s just driving like a maniac. I know Alonso needs the best car on the grid if he ever wants to win a championship.
I'm sorry, but I don't recognize that term. Could you clarify what you mean? kaže:
I think you're overthinking the whole Alonso situation. Honestly, the elephant in the room is the tires.

I have to admit, I’m losing interest in following this sport. It used to feel like it had some soul, but now? It's just sad.

It’s not just the tires. The whole sport is turning into a mess because they keep piling on these ridiculous rules that just strip away everything that made F1 great in the first place.
Jason Campbell70 said:Eye-opening.

Given how much negativity you’re bringing to this thread, you clearly think pretty highly of yourself. No wonder. ☕
Jason Campbell70 said:A complete fraud. A leech. A total scavenger.

The level of discourse here is truly impressive. 🙂

What, does it hurt when someone insults your Alonso? Ever wonder how people feel reading your posts about Sebastian Vettel?

Don't dish it out if you can't take it. ☕
Jason Campbell70 said:Good for you, my dear friend.

Now, just imagine if the maestro said that with his thick Spanish accent.

🙂

His English is pretty rough, too. I'll pass. 😁

For your homework, just look up some Grand Prix results and see how many times Sebastian Vettel finished ahead of him. Check out his miserable face back then versus how he looks today.

It won't be hard to find a Grand Prix where the German beat the guy from the States. 🤣
