So, my typical night out usually goes a little something like this:
First, I meet up with the older crowd for a few rounds at the local pub. We hang out until about midnight, and once the retirees decide it's time to call it a night, I head out with the younger group. We hit up Apple or Mocvara and keep the party going until sunrise. I'm young at heart, that's just 😁

You can't act the same way at 30 as you did when you were 15.

Look... we all loved messing around in the park and playing "cops and robbers" until we collapsed.
But what about now? I still find myself doing stuff like that once in a while.

I’m telling you, kids (well, 14-year-olds...) go to Mocvara for those "classic" headphone nights, along with a crowd that is totally out of control.
You shouldn't be 27 or 28 years old and tell me it's normal to spend every weekend drinking cheap, warm beer for $3.25 poured by some guy with half a shaved head and dreadlocks down his back... only to walk to the restroom and have the smell of filth and sickness hit you like a wall 🙂, while the "dance floor" is basically just knee-deep sludge and water.😂

Then you step outside to the patio and see people huddling near the trash bins in waves... dead drunk, stumbling and falling all over the ground.

Honestly, it's a total mess 🙂

And sure, Apple might be chaotic, but it doesn't compare to Mocvara—not even close.

It’s not every weekend, and I don't act like I did when I was 15.🙂
The beer is the same as anywhere else, and I don't mind if someone has dreadlocks. People get drunk everywhere. Anyway, it doesn't matter... I go there to catch up with friends and let loose a little, and that's it. I don't see the issue.😉
Man, I know it looks childish to some, but I'd rather be there than hanging out with a bunch of old farts who have no idea what to do with themselves and only go out just to say they went out.😉

I clearly remember being at a dive bar, where some guy with a dark look 😍 was watching me light up a cigarette, and he just said: "any sane person would let this slide with music like this playing." 😁

So, you're a drinker, then? 😬
Don't tell me you're a smoker too. 🙏 🙏 🙏

It's fine once in a while...😁
But I can't do it all the time. I've got issues. 😳

I agree... but honestly, it’s the perfect spot for those kids trying to act edgy when they first stumble into the underground scene at 14 or 15...

And generally speaking... hitting up the Swamp is only worth it for those teenagers between 15 and 18... or that crowd of idiots in their 20s who have nothing better to do than get drunk on cheap wine from $2.75 and roll around in the mud at the Swamp...

The whole club is a total wreck from the entrance to the exit... the music is okay once in a while, but that's about it. 🙂

Well, damn, then I guess I'm an idiot too, since at 29 I still find myself heading to the Swamp sometimes...😳
...and I'm definitely not the only one. 😉
By the way, I think it's pretty pathetic to spend my weekends leaning against a bar at some pub like everyone else in my age group does... only to end up complaining about it later. 🙄

It’s not really the middle of nowhere... It's only a 15-minute walk from Broadway.😉

ambermoose6 said:I honestly don't know what to tell you. You've got Kset, which has a great lineup but closes way too early. Then there's the Swamp, which is exactly how I described it. You have Apple up on the hill at 3pm, and then there's that local dive bar—I can't remember the name, but I know on Fridays you get two beers for the price of one (or maybe that's just Fridays, I don't know, last time I was there it happened to be a Friday 😬). There's also that pub where, for some reason I can't wrap my head around, a massive crowd gathers every single weekend (maybe a little less on weekdays) just to stand around, sit on the sidewalk, and drink, drink, and drink... I guess I'm just getting old, so maybe it's lost on me. I have plenty of other spots I can list later if you want 😁, but those are the "in" places right now 😉

But you always end up with the same conclusion: if the company is good, the location doesn't matter 😉. At least that's true for me. As long as you aren't freezing or getting soaked, everything is fine
.

I haven't been to Kset in ages, so I can't quite remember... bad beer, bad vibes, and they close much too early. 😠
They do have good concerts, though... 😳
There are much better alternatives to that pub—like Krivi Put. Personally, Route 66 is my favorite spot in town because you can actually enjoy a beer and listen to a concert in peace.
Apple is definitely living off its former glory, but it hasn't completely dried up yet. I've been there the last few weekends and it was perfectly fine 👍
Now, about the Swamp. I don't know, I actually like going there. Sometimes it's packed, and sometimes I just love that youthful energy (which basically means a bunch of teenagers 😬).

ambermoose6 said:If I remember correctly, you were at my Siouxsie Sioux listening session... and the turnout wasn't even that great. It's hard to say how many people would actually show up for an all-female listening party.

I'll definitely be there to support the cause... as long as Emily Hernandez28 brings me along. 😉>
