Honestly, I don't quite know myself, but when I listen to her music, I just don't feel "won over." I think I need something a bit more suggestive, even though her lyrics are sharp as a razor in the best possible way. That lack of expression in her sound just isn't engaging enough for my specific musical sensibilities.

Man, I am so glad someone finally brought up Hannah Montana. She is absolutely incredible. There was this whole stretch of time where I was basically listening to Heavy Metal 😁 nonstop. Sadly, she just doesn't get nearly enough credit these days.
Honestly, if ambermoose6 😍 were to organize a girls' listening party,
it would be legendary.

I do. I want it all... both Alanis and Regina (who looks a bit too much like Tori in her videos, though the music is different, I guess) and whatever else comes my way 😉

You were at my Siouxsie Sioux and the Banshees video session, if I remember correctly... and not enough people showed up. Who knows how many would come to a women's session, but I'm planning on it regardless. It was supposed to be this month, but I stepped aside for some colleagues, so now I'm waiting for the next opening. It won't be anytime soon since the schedule is packed through the 11th, 12th, and almost all of next month. Plus, I want to gather more material to play. Any suggestions? Feel free to throw anything my way that you think would be cool for a listening session 😉

Regarding Hannah Montana, I've only listened to 🙏 "carnival of justice" and "girls that glitter"... I really need to fix that mistake and go grab the rest of the album ASAP...

By the way, has anyone checked out Carina Round? What do you think? I listened to a few tracks and then practically begged someone to download her whole discography for me, but I ended up getting into a huge argument with them in the middle of it. So... no Carina for me since I'm avoiding that person right now.😬

So, you mention the Femme Fatale archetype, and if we're going there, let's actually discuss it: Annie Lennox, Julee Cruise, Beth Gibbons, Loreena McKennitt, Whitney Houston, Edith Piaf, that waifish Celine Dion, Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Cesaria Evora, the lead vocalist from Madredeusa, Madonna, Enya, perhaps even the wild Sinead O'Connor, or Shelby Lynne... here are a few that pique my interest, though there are plenty more, naturally, I simply cannot recall them all at this precise moment. 😳
