Maybe it’s time to shake up the playlist. It’s getting exhausting listening to nothing but overplayed hits from the same few bands and those tired, cliché acts.

Exactly.
I still remember the absolute stampede at that last funeral home when some decaying band played the first few notes of Fear of the Dark. 🤣 🤣 🤣

I might end up going, or maybe I won't... though, honestly, I probably won't...😕

I'll probably head out.

Hit me up if you want to grab a drink and act like an idiot.

The Roxy... it’s just... I don't know...
The first time I went, it was actually great, but every visit since then has been a downward slide. It's hard to explain... You go in expecting one thing, and then...

It really ticked me off once when we tried to get in after a show (around 2:30 AM on a Saturday) and the guy tried to charge us $23 for admission even though the concert was already over. Seriously, give me a break.
Then there are those weird women hitting the paper holders 😁, some arrogant guy working the floor, and a bartender who looks at you like you're some kind of idiot. Maybe things have changed, who knows...

And don't even get me started on how they seem to suck up to Rammstein 😁

The crowd at The Roxy is directly proportional to how much alcohol is in your bloodstream.

That brainless hippie with a couple of social dreadlocks on one side of his head? 🤣 🤣 🤣

I don't think that's what I meant! (if you look at my sentence! 😍). I think she has an eyebrow piercing. Anyway, I haven't been there in a long, long time...

Was that the black-haired guy with the lip piercing? Total loser.

Someone really needs to blow up The Roxy; it’s easily the worst club in this pathetic excuse for an American punk and rock scene. I used to go there all the time, but now I’d much rather just stay home and smoke a joint.

I'm being serious, I really am.

That's a tough call... I'd probably go with Kset, though their hours can be a bit of a headache. Still, I'll say Kset. 😉

Well, this is a total disaster... where can you actually find somewhere to hang out in this city after midnight? 🙄 I’m honestly getting a bit tired of The Roxy. It feels like I'm seeing the same crowd every single night, all rushing the stage at once whenever those same old songs start playing—which, let's be honest, they play constantly. And yet, despite all that, you still end up there because there isn't much else to do, and staying home just doesn't sound appealing. I've realized that if I stay sober, I can barely last thirty minutes before heading back home, unless I grab a drink to make the whole thing bearable again (depending on how much cash I have left).
And of course... you get home looking like you just crawled through a swamp. Someone always manages to spill a beer on you, too. You have to throw everything straight into the wash immediately. Ugh. 🙄 I don't have a single ounce of punk spirit left in me. 😬

That damn humidity there just gets under my skin. Especially when the temperature drops... my rheumatism starts acting up immediately. 😬

I'm not from around Seattle, so I don't really know the local spots. But I'd love to find out once I head that way (I get out quite often)...

I honestly don't know what to tell you... there's Kset, which has a solid lineup but closes way too early, then there's The Roxy, which is exactly how I described it before. You’ve got Apple Hill up on the hill starting at 3 PM, or maybe that dive bar downtown where you get two beers for the price of one on Fridays—or maybe it's not just Fridays, I can't recall since the last time I was there was a Friday 😬. Then there's that metal bar where, for some reason I can't wrap my head around, a massive crowd gathers every single weekend—or more often on weekdays—just standing around, sitting on the sidewalk, and drinking, and drinking... maybe I'm just getting old, so it's lost on me. I have a few other spots I can mention later if you're interested 😁, but those are basically the "in" places 😉
.
But in the end, it always comes down to this: if you're with good people, the venue doesn't really matter 😉. At least, that's true for me. As long as you aren't freezing or getting soaked, everything is fine

Yeah, there are definitely some great shows in the US 😉

As for Boogaloo... I have some bad memories from that club, so I won't go there right now. Honestly, it wasn't really about the venue, just me and my tendency toward public embarrassment 😉

God!

Where exactly is this place?

I've noticed crowds hanging out outside that Spunko spot near the local bank...
