Since we’re talking about Pink Floyd, I listen to them, along with a few others. Sure, if there's a party going on, I might put on some Vuco or maybe some Bebek, but let's be real—there is a massive gap between where Vuco sits and where Pink Floyd stands. I'm not trying to brag about my taste or bash anyone else's, but it's a plain fact: music today has become nothing more than a consumer product. Real music is becoming a rarity. You can't even compare a guitarist like BB King to some random hack; they aren't in the same universe, regardless of where they come from. There are artists who play from the soul because they were born with actual talent, and then there are the trashy types like Lady Gaga or Taylor Swift, or whoever else, who will never reach that level of artistry. When music stops being art and starts being just a tool for profit, fame, and self-promotion, it becomes garbage. My love for Pink Floyd or certain classic singers isn't about ego. Enough said. I think I'll go ahead and click the link in my signature just to remind myself what actual music sounds like and why I don't waste my time on mainstream trash. 😛
It’s a waste of my time even letting you listen to my playlist in my signature when you clearly don't understand what music actually is. To you, music is just background noise for entertainment. People like you are the reason why cheap pop hits are written just to fade away in a month... And as for you, old man, it's obvious you fail to grasp that there are different tiers—in life and in music. Look, someone like Arsen Dedić represents a high level of composition, melody, and true artistry. Meanwhile, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and those other pop singers are nothing more than entertainers for the mindless masses. There is a massive gulf between real music and the shallow jingles clogging up the mainstream charts. But hey, everyone listens to whatever they want; it’s your life, go ahead and jump around, wave your hands, smash your glasses, tra-la-la-la... 😵
Popularity doesn't equal quality. Take Mišo, for example—he’s more famous than someone like Arsen Dedić or even Vuco, yet neither of them can be called a real musician by any standard. Queen of what? Bad taste, nudity, or some other nonsense? What they put out isn't music. Just like there are people living on a higher plane of consciousness, there are trashy types like you who find it acceptable to listen to Lady Gaga or Taylor Swift and actually treat them like queens. I'm not being hateful here; I'm just stating facts. 😵
So you're just someone waiting to be entertained. Superficial and primitive. That’s exactly what a Lady Gaga or Taylor Swift show is. Music isn't meant to be mere distraction; if that's all you want, then you're strictly sticking to "pop" music—which is essentially just entertainment masquerading as sound, not music as an art form. Real music is much more than that. Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift just recycle melodies and lyrics, but that isn't true music, even if it technically falls under the genre. Do you follow me? Music is raw emotion, not some commercial product designed to chase fame, attention, or a paycheck...
Look, listening to "Plima" from Index back in 1972—and I've played it a million times—it feels timeless. Something crafted 50 years ago can still hold more weight and quality than the massive flood of garbage released ten or even twenty years ago. That’s the fundamental truth about music. What people are churning out today isn't actually music; it's just a commodity designed with an expiration date and a price tag. Real music, the kind created with actual soul, doesn't have a shelf life or a market value. As the lyrics say, "The 21st century is coming, dear, but there's no sign of happiness in sight"...
Betty Foster452 said:Hey everyone, I’ve recently started boxing just for fun, but the goal is to actually join a real MMA gym soon and get serious about it. I picked up some Everlast gloves from $67, and honestly? They're a joke. You can see the stitching coming apart already, and they feel stiff as a board. Not exactly what you want when you're hitting pads, right? If anyone can point me toward something better, I’m willing to drop $400-$$167. Look, I know I won't be walking away with top-tier pro gear for that price, but I want something decent—something that won't fall apart in a month. What’s the best bang for my buck in that range? Any specific models or links would be huge. Thanks.
Everlast shouldn't be an issue. They'll hold up fine for recreational use. You might want to look at Adidas, Lonsdale, Twins, Hayabusa, or Venum... you could check www.promfightstore.com to see what they have in stock right now.
It’s somewhat accurate, but even back when I was in school during the era when the Backstreet Boys and similar trash ruled the airwaves, there was still some level of melody to that pop garbage. The 90s actually had plenty of decent music. Just look at the local pop hits from that time compared to what these modern groups are churning out now—they've basically hijacked the old vocal group style just to grab quick popularity. Back in the 80s and 90s, those groups actually put effort into quality songwriting. What we hear today might not be total MTV trash, but in my opinion, it's worse because people actually tried to write real songs back then. Nowadays, the synthesizer and the computer are the primary instruments. Ask any modern pop act who bands like Nirvana or even classic rock legends were; they wouldn't have a clue.
The shipyard where I worked was a perfect snapshot of the era we’re living in. Most of the crew were from the older generation, though there were plenty of younger guys my age and even some kids. I was one of the few who actually grew up in the city; most others were from the surrounding rural areas. One day, during our lunch break, I had an experience that left me feeling pretty disillusioned. We were listening to MP3s, and this guy bursts into the room and starts making comments about what we're doing and what those headphones are for. I told him I was listening to Pink Floyd, and he just stared at me blankly before asking, "What's that?" Honestly, I was stunned. I know not everyone listens to them, but for someone in the 21st century to have no clue who Pink Floyd is? That's a tragedy. The worst part was that he was 35—not much older than I'll be in two years. He knew every local guy, knew whose tractor was parked where, and spent his time listening to mindless pop. What I really resent about the younger generation today is how brainwashed they are by garbage—music, movies, TV shows, literature—it's all trash, and they accept it as the standard because they have no idea what actual music or real art looks like. The lack of awareness about life in general is staggering. Music is just one small symptom of that deeper ignorance.
Just watched this clip about Jubilee. Even though I get why people here obsess over names like Taylor Swift or why the world loves Lady Gaga and Beyoncé, I can't help but feel the younger generation has absolutely no clue what real music actually is. They don't realize how much raw talent and sheer grit it took to become a legitimate star a few decades ago when actual music was being composed... A perfect example of how garbage is being passed off as art is this Ultra Music Festival and those famous DJs who will be entertaining all those kids this summer. We could also mention the country singers—they might not be in their prime right now, but you can still hear the echoes of their hits blaring from a black Audi or a Mercedes driving away from some local party. It’s honestly unbelievable how far musical quality has plummeted, just like they say in this video, and how completely numbed the masses have become today. Definitely watch the clip; it explains things plainly enough that even those following pop acts like Kelly Clarkson or Katy Perry should be able to wrap their heads around it. Cheers.
I was just browsing online, and yeah, it's actually located in Washington state. Brick is still working there, and the town looks exactly like it did in the series.
Just finished the episode. This series is a masterpiece compared to the endless stream of American garbage we’re forced to watch. Every single character actually serves a purpose; everything feels simple, yet there's this underlying complexity to it all. I had this dream that one day I'll finally head out there, just wandering down those streets with the soundtrack playing on my iPod. It's something you just have to experience for yourself. As for Marilyn, she’s always rubbed me the wrong way. I can't stand her. 😁 By the way, the town where they filmed it is called Roslyn, and it's actually in Canada. We wouldn't even need a visa. Maybe one day I'll make it happen.
Maybe you’re just upset because Lenny isn't exactly your cup of tea. And look, Mick is a pop artist. You listen to him for a good time, not for some spiritual awakening. It’s actually a blessing that San Diego is a smaller city; it keeps lowlifes like you from showing up. This city should be proud of its heritage, its history, and its local icons—Mick included. And don't you dare try to ban me just because I used the word "trashy." Don't push your phobias on me. If I find someone repulsive, I'm going to call them trashy. I'm sure you wouldn't be banning anyone if I called Mick trashy. Calm down and go do something productive with your life.
No. This is an official notice from the IRS—a levy order. They even sent a sample via USPS stating they’ll start garnishing my wages if I don't settle up. It's a forced collection of fines and legal fees handled by the Treasury. But nowhere does it actually explain why their records show I owe them a dime. These thieves are unbelievable.
Look, I work for the USPS. In my experience, nobody actually gets a court order saying they’re liable for some debt or owe someone money. What I see are fines piling up, and my bank statements clearly show the collections are going straight to the Department of Justice. So, they're definitely working on some kind of penalties. I just had two hit me within three days. Paid one, ignored the other. I’ve got an eight-day window on it. My question is: can they just start docking my paycheck for every single garnishment? Is that even legal? If another one shows up, can they suddenly snatch two or three amounts out of my pay at once? I’ll end up with nothing left if more of these pop up. Besides, I'm pretty sure some of these fines should have expired by now.
A few days ago, I received another garnishment notice regarding my $233. No explanation provided this time—just a straight demand for payment. I could file an appeal and pay the $17, but since an appeal doesn't actually stay the execution, I fail to see the point of even bothering. What I want to know is how many of these notices can actually show up at my door. The mailman dropped something off today, but I was too exhausted to deal with it and just left it unopened. How is it legal for them to send these out without any supporting documentation? I’ve racked up a few traffic tickets recently and I always submit my appeals, yet I haven't seen a single court ruling on them. It makes no sense how these garnishments arrive so abruptly. Any advice would be appreciated.
I don't care for that guy or his music. Where was he when the local legends were actually walking the streets of our hometown? 😂 😂 An event like this is nothing more than a vanity project for people looking to get some TV time and act like big shots, even though they wouldn't know a thing about real grit... it’s the exact same nonsense as those cheap gimmicks from back in the day... absolute garbage. Thank God he wasn't in San Diego... at least this city knows how to brew decent beer.
I’m not frustrated. I’ve got nothing to be frustrated about. It's my vacation, so I have plenty of time. Clearly, Dražen hit on a truth I was already stating regarding Oktoberfest. I didn't mention you all in my post just to drag anyone's name through the mud; there's honestly no need for me to deal with any of you. I'm not insulting you or him. I know how much of a mess that place is every single year. I know because I've seen it, and that's what I wrote. Don't worry about me—not about the bike, and certainly not about the girl. I have zero interest in discussing them with you. I have my own opinions, including my view on Oktoberfest. You reacted immediately the moment this guy tipped you off. If you didn't want to be my mouthpiece, you should have just ignored me instead of jumping in. On my end, I've always been fair to you and your "friends." Whatever issues you guys have with yourselves is your problem. Even though we aren't part of the same circle, I'll still say hello if I run into you, purely out of basic decency. To you and everyone else. As for the ticket prices going up? That's on whoever set the price. It's an undeniable fact. Everyone goes their own way, but clearly, you guys aren't moving far from the old ways. That's enough from me on this and any related topics. Salute!
Not even related to Oktoberfest, but honestly, none of those so-called "friends" of yours can deny what that whole scene actually looks like or who shows up there. I’ll just say this: you really dragged my name through the mud. Even if I had a negative opinion of you, I wouldn't insult you. I refuse to stoop to your level—or whatever level you think you're on, though you clearly aren't growing anytime soon. As for phones, tech, or women, don't worry about it. You don't need to know anything more about me than you already do, and you certainly aren't the type of person I’d discuss women or technology with. It’s obvious you forgot everything back when you were doing your internship at the repair shop with that guy who used to be your friend—the one you could actually have a normal conversation with. Or the one who’d at least lend you a bike so you didn't have to trek all the way to the outskirts on foot. All this just proves that it's hard to take you or your "friends" seriously. Your actions have already shown that you aren't true friends to one another. And hey, "friend," a new X-rated movie just came out, so go watch that, or maybe if you've lost your touch, go back to those juvenile antics from your youth. Give my regards to your "friends." We won't be seeing each other at Oktoberfest. Good luck to all of you and your great "friendship"; I know exactly how genuine you all are to each other—as long as no one moves out of the way. For the record, I've had the same phone for years and was surfing the web long before high-speed internet even hit the suburbs. And I don't drink, nor will I; I'll leave that to the "friends" over at Skala.
