amberheron64 said:So, I absolutely demolished a box of K-Plus banana bites today—and honestly, I did the exact same thing with another box yesterday—so now I’m just sitting here working my way through these little chocolate puffs... you know, the dairy-free ones. It’s just one after another, and another, and another, and another, and ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I am definitely going to end up gaining weight if I keep this up.

Well, for some women, those pills actually trigger a massive appetite! My advice? Skip the candy boxes and grab some carrots or something crunchy instead.
Don't come asking me in a few days why you gained weight from the Logest. It isn't the medicine doing it—it's the snacks!
Enlarged uterus in Women's Health ·
Hannah Roberts86 said:I feel the same way. My current doctor is just so confused. He told me my irregular periods are due to my epilepsy medication, but then he also warned me to be careful if I don't want to get pregnant right now because it might be easy to conceive! How? Is it because of an enlarged uterus?? Even though he knows I have cycle issues, every single time he does a manual exam, he claims pregnancy is possible and asks for a pregnancy test.. This OBGYN never even used an ultrasound on me; he runs a private practice and charges extra for that $100. The specialist I saw privately did use an ultrasound and said my ovaries are working fine and that I am ovulating, but he couldn't tell me why my periods keep skipping. I assume it's the meds, but could all these epilepsy drugs cause infertility? I've already had a child once. Honestly, nothing makes sense, no matter how many doctors I see. I'm heading for some neurological tests now and hope they change my prescription, because this current one has endless side effects...

Epilepsy meds affect your cycle, not the size of your uterus. They won't make you infertile! It's just that since they mess with your period, they affect ovulation, which in turn affects your ability to conceive. It's a vicious cycle!😁
Pregnancy is usually detected during an exam when the uterus feels enlarged during palpation. That’s probably why he's confused...
It's not right that he didn't use an ultrasound. If there is a medical indication for an ultrasound, he MUST perform it at no extra cost! You could actually report him for malpractice! He can't claim your uterus is enlarged and then skip the ultrasound! Good grief, what kind of doctors are these!?? 😠

You've got a point! It seems like you're always worried we won't have enough... 🙄
I absolutely love those cupcakes! Seriously! 😍

Donna Chase12, I think I’m going to grab those pastries from you! Such an awesome idea. 😍 Just a quick question—wouldn't it be easier to just pick up one pastry per person?
Don't get me wrong, I've always been the type of person who thinks more is always better!
🤷

Speaking of cheesecake, my family isn't usually big on cake, but we absolutely fell in love with one specific cheesecake! 😍 It's truly special. I think we'll just stick to that one for ourselves—we'll slice that up and then maybe get some other treats or pastries on the side.
My partner's past in Psychology ·
Lawrence Rodriguez said:Honestly, I think it was a mistake to even bring up intimate details. I only had one partner before my husband, so there wasn't much to discuss regarding my past. Even with him, we never really dove into deep, intimate topics—especially not about sex with an ex! That’s just not how it works. My husband always told me, "I care about you and our connection; what you had before doesn't involve me." Whenever I tried to nudge him to talk about his ex or their relationship, he'd just say that it didn't concern me and would only cause unnecessary drama. What happened in the past stays in the past.

What a wise man! 👍

I agree, knowing less about a partner's past is usually better.
Curiosity is natural, but once you know those things, they tend to weigh on you. It's not the kind of information that improves a relationship; if anything, it just creates unnecessary tension.
Common myths about STIs in men in Women's Health ·
Sandra Martin72 said:They’ll run those three tests, but there’s also a swab for mycoplasma, plus one for aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Basically, the aerobic and anaerobic swabs cover almost all existing bacteria, except for the ones that need their own specific tests—like ureaplasma, which are actually the most dangerous ones to watch out for. Also, HPV is a virus.

Mycoplasma uses the same sample as ureaplasma. What's missing here is the swab for aerobes and anaerobes.

In any case, he should just go get his swabs taken.
He can ask the lab if anything else is needed so he doesn't have to head back to the doctor to get his referral updated.

I don't have a definitive answer, but I have noticed that men rarely bring it up. I haven't looked into the reasons behind it yet. 🤷
Common myths about STIs in men in Women's Health ·
Nancy Adams12 said:I know this question might be better suited for the men on this forum, but I tend to trust the women's perspectives more. I’m wondering about testing for STIs (HPV, chlamydia, yeast infections, etc.) for male partners. How many actual swabs are taken during the process? My husband mentioned that when he was tested before, they took six different swabs, but his current referral from the doctor only lists three specific things. I'm a bit confused. 😕

Any advice would be appreciated.

There isn't really a "six swab" standard. Typically, they test for things like Aerob, anaerobes, mycoplasma, ureaplasma, and chlamydia, but those aren't necessarily separate test tubes for every single item.
Generally speaking, doctors don't perform HPV typing on men.

It sounds like everything is fine. Could you just list what is actually written on the referral?
