So, my issue is that I eat an insane amount of sweets—honestly, my diet is basically zero healthy habits—so it all just goes straight to my hips 🙂. That's also why I never have visible muscle, even though everything feels firm to the touch.🙂 http://public.fotki.com/lijepa-alma/alma/dscn0330.html http://public.fotki.com/lijepa-alma/...329.html#media
After gorging myself on chocolate—honestly, I’m embarrassed by how much I was eating daily—this is where I’m at. Once the winter chill hits, I’ll probably swap the bike for the gym (though who knows if I'll actually find it fun or just end up back on my bike), and then I'll post updates once I stop overeating. 5'3", 109 lbs The real issue is that I eat an insane amount of sweets—basically, my diet has zero healthy habits—so everything just goes straight to my hips 🙂. I'm still a little fuzzy on one part—you mentioned hinting to your family doctor about redoing those liver enzyme tests. Why were they run in the first place? What were the actual numbers, and are you feeling any symptoms or taking any meds?
Yeah, looking at those lipid levels—that jump is pretty significant, I'll give you that.
Your doctor will probably want to send you to a gastroenterologist for more digging—maybe an abdominal ultrasound, followed by some serology tests if needed.
They were originally ordered during my hormone panel workup—just checking everything since there were issues there. My ALT and AST were slightly elevated back then, so my OBGYN suggested a follow-up. The worst part? I don't take any meds, I don't drink alcohol, nothing that should be messing with my levels. An ultrasound came back totally clear, too. As for symptoms... just headaches, pain under my right ribs, and lately—over the last two weeks—total exhaustion. Could those be related? And is it actually possible for this to escalate this fast—going from slightly high eight months ago to triple the normal limit now?
So, back in August, I had my ALT and AST checked—barely any deviation there. But after my GP nudged me, I went back today and now the numbers are jumping: AST at 88 and ALT at 96. 😲Plus, I’ve been feeling some pain in my liver area lately. Could this be from eating way too much chocolate, or is it definitely a sign of some kind of inflammation going on? Also, my cholesterol was 2 in August, but now it's hit 7. Triglycerides are 0.39, HDL is 2.64, and LDL is 4.4. Basically, my total cholesterol and LDL are a complete mess. 😲 Honestly, WTF. I do eat a ton of chocolate—but I also bike a lot. What do you guys think? Is it actually possible for those two things to cause such a massive spike in liver enzymes?

What are the odds this is actually serious if the levels are only slightly elevated? And what if there aren't any symptoms—I know they say hepatitis is a silent killer, but still. Could overtraining cause this kind of thing?
Just did my routine blood work—bam. ALT is at 40, AST is 37. I’m not taking any meds, no alcohol, no birth control, no bile supplements, or anything else that could mess things up. I don't deal with drugs or promiscuity either 🤣. But honestly, I'm spiraling because having these elevated is definitely not ideal. My OB-GYN (who sent me for the tests) wants me to check hepatitis markers—even though I'm not in a high-risk group—while my primary care doctor says there's absolutely nothing to worry about. What else could this be? Is it possible that cycling is throwing the numbers off? I used to ride all the time and everything was fine. Now, I'm hitting the road 16 miles every single day, or whenever I can find a spare moment—usually twice a day for up to 31 miles. I am losing my mind worrying about this.
I dealt with two days of straight diarrhea, and now I’ve got this massive hemorrhoid popped out—like, 2-3cm huge.😲 I've never had any issues with hemorrhoids before. It isn't bleeding, but there's some discomfort every now and then. It's been a week now. Is it actually possible to jump straight to fourth-degree just from a couple of days of diarrhea? (Assuming I read that right...) And does this mean surgery is my only option? Honestly, I'm freaking out because I've never had problems until now—it's scary how fast things went from zero to the absolute worst.🙂 My stool is never hard, so diet hasn't really been an issue for me. This whole mess started because I ate something that absolutely wrecked my stomach—I was vomiting along with the diarrhea too.
Here I am (for those who actually care to read😁)—I just ride my bike whenever the mood strikes and when I can get to it. Look, I'm not chasing massive muscles; I just want to make sure I'm not stumbling around aimlessly when I walk😁. I have zero interest in obsessing over diet, either. If I want a burger, I’ll eat it—no guilt involved. Obviously, I'm not eating one every single day. To be clear, I've gone through all sorts of phases with food and exercise, but now that I'm older, I realize my body isn't my entire personality. I refuse to suffer or live on nothing but plain cottage cheese or tuna canned meals.☕ This is what I look like right now—maybe some minor tweaks down the road, but nothing major.☕ Just a heads-up: this post is strictly about me. I’m not trying to judge anyone else's lifestyle or food choices, so please don't take it that way. So, I'm 5'3"😁, weighing in at about 105 lbs in the morning. I added a few extra photos since I didn't have anyone to take them for me, and my room is too small to get a full-body shot easily by myself.😁 Sorry if they're a bit disjointed—hope you can see everything clearly. I'm wearing sneakers, obviously, not heels—heels belong in a fashion magazine, not during a casual ride. Some shots are static, others are more active. Let me know what you think—just a casual rider here.😉

I just finished my very first pack and didn't have any side effects at all; I actually handled them really well (Trinovum)... But then, halfway through the pack, I ended up getting stuck out in the city unexpectedly and didn't have my pills with me, and since I usually take mine in the evening, I missed one and didn't end up taking it until the next afternoon when I finally got home, so I just kept going with my regular schedule—exactly how the instructions say to do it. Well, the very next day my period started, and it just won't stop—today is already day 13... I took all the pills—all 21 of them—and now I'm starting my 7-day break. I went to see my doctor right when it started because I wasn't sure what was happening or how to handle the next cycle, but she told me it happened because of that one late dose, and said I should just keep taking them and that there shouldn't be any issues.
So, the only thing bothering me is that this bleeding has lasted 13 days now... and I'm feeling kind of exhausted and weak. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I be specifically worried about anything?
It isn't heavy; in fact, it's actually lighter than my usual flow, so it doesn't surprise me that it's dragging on this long, if it were "normal," it would have stopped ages ago, but this is just stretching out forever. And I should mention, this is my first pack, so I guess I'm still technically adjusting to everything...
Well, the symptoms started and stopped right around when I began using them, so I just made the connection.
Has anyone else dealt with these kinds of symptoms while on them—or even a few months after finishing—pill brands like Yasmin or NuvaRing: tingling in the arms and legs, blurry vision, eye pain, stuff like that?
And look, briskstag13—if you weren't "beautiful," you wouldn't have picked that handle in the first place—so why on earth would I have any advice to give you regarding your measurements?
So shallow. Try using your brain for once—it’s not all black and white...🙄The name briskstag13 comes from a Nirvana song that happens to be one of my favorites, and that's the whole connection to the name. Get it?🙄
Thanks for all the "constructive" feedback, everyone. I'll try to take it to heart.🙂
I’ve got a question. As a typical woman, I’m never quite satisfied with measurements...🙄 I’m pretty short—around 5'3"—with a 24-inch waist and 35-inch hips. But then I see these tall girls who have way more going on, which makes me feel like I'm lacking. For those of you roughly my size, how many inches are we talking about?🙄 Also, what's the measurement at the widest part of your thigh?
swiftbear86 said:Day 1 / 24-hour cycle Dec 30-31 30.12 Wednesday—one week equals 7 days, so it expires on Tuesday, Jan 5th. That means the 21-day patch ends on Tuesday, Jan 19th... then on Wednesday, Jan 20th, you take it off at roughly the same time you put it on... so it looks like you're always putting it on and taking it off on Wednesdays... just remember you have to apply the new one within a 3-hour window (don't wait any longer) or it might lose its effectiveness... did that help?😕 👍
Basically, I'm totally messing this up. The whole "weeks" thing trips me up because I learned to track everything by days—so I was confused why the 21st day falls on a Tuesday (I thought that meant I should pull it off then). I figured I’d just take my pill on day 21 and skip day 22. I really need a "clueless" emoji right about now.🤣
Kenneth Peterson6 said:The instructions say you have to take it out and put it back in on the exact same day every time. I'm actually planning to try it for the first time today 😉 I've been using Plan B and a little bit of Diana hoping my skin would clear up—but honestly, I'm too lazy and irresponsible with pills, so naturally, there was zero effect except for some pain in my ovary 😁 I'm wondering what it feels like to use NuvaRing? Can you feel it? Like, during sex or when swimming in a pool? Their website doesn't say anything about it, so I'm assuming everything is fine and you can just live your life normally.
As far as I'm concerned, it's great. Way better than pills since you don't have to remember to take them—plus it doesn't go through your stomach, so there's no risk of it failing if you have diarrhea or vomit.🙂 If you put it in right (which the manual explains), you shouldn't feel it at all. Seriously, I don't feel it—not during sex (neither do my partner nor I), and not in any other situation. So far, so good.🙂
