Seriously, I am recommending Mango Violeta denim with all my heart.
Everything I’ve picked up from them has been amazing. Honestly, finding decent jeans around here feels like a full-time job. I’m a standard US size 12, and let me tell you, nothing at Zara fits me right—I can force myself into them, but it’s a total struggle. Occasionally, I might find a decent cut over at C&A, and if I do, I just grab my usual 12.
At Violeta, though, I buy a 12 every single time. I’ve actually bought about 7 or 8 pairs by now, and every single one has fit like it was custom-made for me.
Nicholas Garcia10 said:Does anyone know which stores actually carry parka jackets in sizes larger than a 44 (like, say, a 46 or 48)? My mom was hunting through H&M and Mango and stuff, but she came up totally empty-handed.
Maybe she should check out C&A.
Seriously, you guys need to check out Mango Violet. I think they have stuff up to size 22. The quality is actually solid and shipping is super fast 👍
So, basically, just browse the main Mango site and then hit up the Mango Outlet. Both spots carry the Violet line—you know, the plus-size stuff.

I opted for the cropped version since I'm about 5'5".
Highly recommend them. 👍
They look awesome!
Is this the low-rise one? 🤔

I usually just order everything online—even though I did pick up a few things locally today—because prices here in the States are way higher than they should be.
What I love most is their use of silk, cashmere, viscose... the quality is actually there.
I swung by H&M earlier and they’re running a BOGO deal on sale items.
Over in the mature women's section, I scored this stunning cardigan, marked down from $83 to just $23.
I also grabbed a hoodie for my daughter, which was on sale for $23, bringing my total for both to $23.
Honestly, the cardigan cost me only $12—and it’s great. Fits perfectly, too.
Where do you usually grab your Monsoon stuff from? Is it directly through their site or somewhere else?
I found this one dress that I am absolutely obsessed with, but the local shops in Chicago and New York only seem to have size 38 in stock. I even gave them a call.
Do the US stores usually carry the same sizing they list on the official Monsoon website?

Anyway, here is the dress. I think I probably need an 18, though I usually wear a US 12—but, well, I might have put on a few extra pounds lately.😬
crimsonviper14 said:No, not those. There were some larger ones right before those—wider straps, lace trim detail, and the cups were smooth and padded, with lace inset on the outer side near the arm. I tried digging through old Walmart catalogs online to double-check, but no luck. I picked up an oversized one on April 2nd, and then when I went back to exchange it on June 6th, a few more had popped up that weren't there before, so I grabbed the black and white ones too. Maybe staff put them back for someone else, or maybe a new shipment arrived. I guess.
The newest ones say "t-shirt bra," and when I compared my 95 to that one, the new one was 5 cm narrower despite being the same size. Plus, the thin straps dig in on the larger sizes, and even the cups are narrower—about 5 cm shorter than the ones I bought previously. So yeah, apparently the same size doesn't actually mean the same fit.
I totally get it.😉
I was looking at those T-shirt bras yesterday and immediately thought, "Wait, these look tiny."
As for that specific bra you described, I actually picked one up a couple of days ago—the black one in a 90C. Usually, I’m an 85C, but I’ve put on maybe 7 or 8 pounds lately, so 90C feels like the better move right now. I tried it on, and while it's fine, it's just... not *it*, you know? It’s not quite what I wanted. I kept the receipt, though, so I'll probably head back and see if I can swap it for something else.
crimsonviper14 said:Just a quick tip for women dealing with larger bra sizes: those bigger models from Target are actually great. I picked up a black one and a white one in a 95c today and they fit me perfectly. For just $15, they're honestly a steal, plus they feel sturdy and comfortable. I think they had some 85d to 95d sizes on sale last week too, but I found a few left in my stash today.
Are you talking about the ones they have on sale starting today? 🤔 The ones in white, black, and that peach-pink color?

I can't say I know exactly what you mean by that—it feels like one of those specific terms that might be an inside joke or just a very niche reference I'm missing. Maybe I'm just out of the loop? If you're talking about something specific, feel free to fill me in. I guess I'll just sit here and wait for the clarification while I wonder if I missed some major cultural moment or if we're all just speaking in code today. kaže:
I was hanging out at St. Monsoon over in the CC1 mall earlier, and honestly? Those big-number deals were actually pretty killer. I mean, they weren't half bad, I guess.
Thanks, ladies!
Split is basically right next door, so that was my first thought for heading out. I’ve actually never stepped foot inside that shop before—do you guys really think I could find a dress there that’s formal enough? It doesn't need to be like, floor-length ballgown territory or anything crazy, just something nice. 🙂
Ladies, does Monsoon carry larger sizes? If they do, what’s the range? I don't have a Monsoon in my neck of the woods, but I've heard whispers they have more inclusive sizing, so I don't want to drive all over town for nothing if it's just a bust.
I'm hunting for a wedding guest dress. (Not mine, 😬 )

Tell your husband he should definitely just keep crushing that MVP.

Thanks, Steve. I'll be sure to pass that along. 😉
Hey everyone, I’m dropping in here totally out of nowhere—I don't usually hang out in these specific threads—but my husband basically begged me to ask on "his little forum" here😁 if there’s actually a massive difference between MVP and Optimum Nutrition protein (he also mentioned something about glutamine 🤔 ).
He’s currently using MVP since he says it’s easier on the wallet than the Optimum Nutrition stuff, but if there’s some huge, game-changing difference, he might give ON a shot. If it’s all more or less the same thing, he'll probably just stick with his MVP
.
Thanks in advance, and please, go easy on me! 😁 🙈
I actually went to a wedding where Terry was playing the beer sets, and honestly, it was such a blast. I’ve also caught him live quite a few times on Friday or Saturday nights... he's seriously a top-tier entertainer. He’s got that whole vibe going with Jo and Vivian... you know, that specific crew. I’ve also heard some buzz about the Major League group being pretty awesome, for what it's worth.
Angela Cook7 said:I'm pretty sure it's 2,500! At least, that's what I heard through the grapevine.🤷
We actually paid 2,800 dollars back in 2008.
Angela Cook7 said:Even if you aren't leaning toward a duo, you should really check out Matthew and the Dam... Honestly, just go to one of their gigs, the vibe is absolutely incredible, and they’ll play just about anything you ask for. They don't just stick to the same old setlist, either. I’ve been to maybe four or five parties where they were the main act, and I haven't had a single moment of doubt about them. 🙂None of those parties ever wrapped up before 6 AM, either; it’s wild how they can still be playing at 5 in the morning like the night is just getting started.
I can definitely back that up too. They played my sister's wedding, and they were top-tier entertainers. I still remember them from our college party days back in San Francisco, and they always knew exactly how to set the mood.
I also totally get why some people might be looking for a female vocalist. Personally, I had Visa play my wedding, and having that mix—where the guys sing a bit, then a few women jump in—is actually perfect. It makes the whole thing feel really balanced and fun.
By the way, my wedding was in December, and even though Visa usually gets booked months or even a year or two in advance, I think you can probably find an opening during the winter season if you're into that sort of thing... 😁

The videographer is included.

Hey,
does anyone have a recommendation for a killer makeup artist out in California?
Price isn't really an issue here—I'm more than happy to cover whatever travel expenses come with it.
Thanks!😉
Peter Gray2 said:Honestly, I feel you on that. I’ve got pretty solid legs from walking all over the city, so every pair of jeans that actually fits my thighs ends up being way too baggy everywhere else. It’s like there isn't a single pair out there that actually sits on me right.
I feel your pain.😉
I have this habit where I'll find a pair that looks great on the legs, but the waist area is so massive you could literally fit three other people inside it, seriously.😁 So then I tell myself—"Yeah, I'll just buy these and take them to a tailor to get them taken in..." Yeah, right. I currently have about 3 or 4 pairs sitting in my closet like that, and let's be real, a tailor has never even seen them because I am way too lazy to actually go out and get them fixed.🙂
Alright folks, figured I’d jump in here and add my two cents to the thread. Look, I’m definitely carrying some extra weight myself, but since I’m about 5'10", it kind of works in my favor... I mean, I’ve got great legs—actually, let's call them excellent legs, long and all that—but once you hit the hips? Ugh. And the booty... it isn't flat or wide, it's more like, you know what I mean, it sticks out 😁. But hey, at least it’s not sagging... and then there’s the stomach. That cursed stomach... ugh... plus, I had surgery a few years back and everything just sort of lost its tightness, man. And my arms? Good grief. If I gain even ten pounds, it goes straight to my arms immediately. Overall, though, it's not the end of the world, it's just the clothes that drive me absolutely insane... I have a mountain of skirts, dresses, minis, tunics... but not a single pair of jeans!!
When it comes to shopping, here's the deal: I pick up a lot of stuff at Target, where their L/XL dresses fit me perfectly, and maybe a size 14 shirt or something. I tried getting jeans from Gap before, but I wasn't really feeling it because they had too much stretch and kept sliding right off me, even with a belt, which is just so irritating 🙂
I also used to stumble upon some gems at Banana Republic, but that was a few years ago when I was maybe 10 pounds lighter; back then, I could slide into their size 14 without any drama
. Sometimes I'll grab something from Old Navy, but honestly, the quality is basically zero
. For dresses—you know, summer ones, winter ones, whatever—I usually stick to Mango or Zara because their XL is decent, sometimes even an L works
.
But the jeans!! 🙂 It’s impossible. I would honestly pay an arm and a leg just to find a pair that actually fits like they were poured onto me
.
I was in New York a few months ago, and oh my god, people—it is a total paradise for clothes. Every shop seems to carry every size imaginable. In places like Topshop or similar boutiques, they had sizes going up to 16, but in some spots, they went all the way to 28. Not every store is like that, obviously, but almost all of them carry at least up to a 20. And H&M? Absolute bliss! Even their plus-size section has plenty of options, even if the cuts were a bit boxy for me
.
The biggest headache is that if jeans fit me perfectly around the waist, then the legs are just way, way, *way* too baggy, which totally kills my motivation while I'm standing there in the fitting room... or vice versa 😢
