CBS meter readers could easily end up behind bars. in Criminal and Misdemeanor Law ·
I heard those collectors aren't even actual CBS employees; they're just retirees working on freelance contracts. That way, CBS can wash their hands of whatever shady tactics they use and claim they aren't responsible.

Honestly, you just need to douse them in some disinfectant, shut the door, and be done with it.
Nosy banks in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
When I opened my checking account at Zillow, I gave them my private home number—the one that isn't listed in any directory. Apparently, they handed it off (or sold it, who knows) to their business partner over at Allstate, because those people kept calling me until I finally changed my number.
I didn't bother reporting it to anyone. I just didn't feel like wasting my time on the bureaucracy.
Where can I get a quick loan? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Brian Moore12 said:Exactly. Run from American "banks" and credit offers as fast as you can. Just issue yourself a restraining order against every financial institution within ten miles. And stay away from those tacky street festivals too.

As for that guy offering you a few bucks in exchange for twenty-two, he clearly doesn't realize he's basically offering a payday loan. Even if you signed something like that, it would be legally void, and he'd be facing charges under Section 242 of the Penal Code of the United States. He's probably just a loan shark himself—or maybe even a banker looking for a quick cut...

Unfortunately, you can't really dodge the big banks when your employer insists on direct deposit. You don't get the luxury of cash in hand like people used to. You just have to exercise some discipline and learn to say NO when they push those instant payday loans or useless credit cards that feel like a trap.

To be blunt, I haven't needed to take out a loan yet. I hope it stays that way, because looking at the state of this country, things aren't looking great.

You actually cracked me up here... and honestly? You're totally right. Amen.

I grew up singing the great American classics, and I respect every cent of our currency.😉

Deal, Alexander. Two plus two equals four.

Two plus two equals 22, not 4.
Is a $9,000 loan actually worth it? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Hannah Lopez94 said:Here’s my situation: a few years back, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. The whole treatment process was grueling, long, and incredibly expensive.
To cover her medical bills and our basic living expenses, I had to take out two loans (we traveled to Germany for her care, which, thank God, meant she survived, but the financial fallout absolutely wrecked us).
I’ve since landed a decent job with a steady salary, but these debts are constantly hanging over my head.
A "friend" kept promising to help me out, but once her real estate deal fell through, she completely vanished—leaving me with nothing but broken promises.

My goal is to consolidate everything—one loan, credit card balances, etc.—which would require $20000. I plan to pay this back over five years at a 4% annual interest rate, totaling $24000 by the end of the term. My plan is to make monthly payments to a private lender $333 under a contract notarized by a public notary (notarization costs would be on me).

I’m 32, an economics graduate, and I'm not looking for a handout. If anyone here is interested in helping under these terms, or if you know someone who might be, please let me know.

Any advice or perspective is appreciated.

So you'd just be paying back the principal over five years. How much were you planning on paying in $4000 interest?
wanderingridge8 said:I take 5mg of Normabel at night and 2.5mg of Moditen at night. Why shouldn't I mix alcohol with this? And what about weed?

Don't mix alcohol with your meds. A glass of wine here or there won't kill you, but getting drunk is out of the question. As for weed—your brain is already dealing with elevated dopamine levels, which is why you're on these pills. Smoking increases that dopamine even further. You'll end up in a psych ward with delusions or worse. Honestly, if you used weed in the past, you might already be dealing with the fallout.

Right now I'm taking 25 mg of Zyprexa, and honestly, I feel completely drained and helpless.
I have zero energy or motivation left.
Thanks.

Yeah, I’ve been through that diagnosis too. I was on Zyprexa and Norvasc, but the side effects were brutal, so my doctor switched me over to Lipitor 100 mg and Norvasc 5 mg. If you're feeling weak, it could be the medication reacting with you, though it depends on how long you've been on it. With the Zyprexa, I ended up stuck in a hospital bed just sleeping. I needed a long break from everything.
Of course she would stay with someone living with hepatitis or the CDC virus....
these things are asymptomatic in the early stages. You might even be carrying something right now without knowing it. Go get tested...
if you were ever in this position, I guarantee you wouldn't be indifferent if a loved one walked away from you because of an illness...
Even if they weren't in a relationship, she’d still be there. Leaving someone just to protect yourself is fine, I suppose, but I don't have it in me. I have too much heart for that. Even if it meant catching something. People end up abandoned because of their health, and that's a hell of a feeling—feeling like nobody loves you, or dealing with that stigma where people look at you like you're untouchable because of the CDC status. It's ugly.
My advice to anyone refusing to stand by a sick partner is this: don't assume you're immune. And God forbid you abandon someone in need. You might find yourselves facing that same reality down the road.
