Hey there,

Can someone please give me some actual, sensible advice? I need to find a way to borrow about $1,600. I’m currently out of work, which has left me in a massive hole—I’ve got rent and utility bills piling up, and honestly, I'm struggling just to keep food on the table at this point... I won't even get into the rest of it. Just to be clear, social services aren't an option right now, and the banks won't touch me because of my credit score and the overdrafts. Even those predatory microfinance outfits and those shady guys like Fredrick Peterson are out of the question because they're nothing but thieves. That leaves me looking at loan sharks, but I have no idea who to turn to or where to even find them, even though it feels like my only real way out. I don't have any friends or family to lean on, and nobody I know is in a position to help. Please, if anyone can help, let me know! Thanks!🙏

Where are you even going to find the money to cover a debt like that? It doesn't seem very smart, honestly. I guess you might have to completely change up your whole way of life just to deal with it.

Look, I have to clear these debts first, and then I’ll just head out and pick up some seasonal work to get back on my feet...

But how am I supposed to pull that off when I’ve got to clear these debts first? And let me tell you, I don't exactly get to pick the interest rates from those loan sharks, especially since things are so damn rough right now. I'm desperate here. Any advice? Thanks!

It’s way better to owe money to Exelon, American Water, or just your basic utility companies than to deal with some loan shark.

Well, that’s easy for you to say when you aren't stuck renting a place with zero options! I don't have anywhere else to go! Honestly, why do I even bother venting? Most people around here clearly haven't the slightest clue what actual poverty feels like or how brutal life can get when you're truly struggling...👎

It might feel pretty rough right now, but trust me, things can get way worse—especially if you end up dealing with a loan shark.

Since he’s just a tenant, at least they can't seize his property 😁

Honestly, you really shouldn't mess around with those loan sharks... I mean, it’s just not worth the risk. I actually know about this one situation where some loan sharks ended up seizing someone's entire apartment and basically tossed the family out onto the street, and they're still stuck in court fighting over it to this day... but yeah, whatever
Don't just sit there, maybe try looking for some side hustle or something, like cleaning or whatever else is out there, just please don't go looking for help from those loan sharks

I’m honestly curious, which loan shark would actually hand over cash to someone with absolutely nothing left to take?😂

If one actually exists, I’d love to grab a little something from them too!🙂

Why don't you just try sitting down with your landlord and working out a deal? Tell him you're heading off for some seasonal work, vacate the place, and commit to sending him a set amount every month as a guarantee 🤷. It’s a much smarter move than playing games with loan sharks who might decide to corner you in a dark alley tomorrow night 🤷.

Forget about those loan sharks.

If I were you, I'd just grab the first job that comes along, regardless of the location. Once I have proof of employment, I’d take those papers straight to the boss and ask him to hold off on the payments until my first paycheck hits. If he won't budge, I'd be out hitting up friends and old acquaintances, begging and pleading. Once that first check actually lands, I'd dump every cent into paying back what I owe—well, maybe not all of it. $67 Just enough to cover milk and a few slices of bread every day. I’m never letting myself fall into debt like that again. Once things finally stabilize in a few months, I'll treat the boss—or the guys—to a decent dinner.

I am also interested in finding someone for a private loan—specifically someone who isn't a thief or a scammer. I have heard accounts of individuals who lend significant sums at reasonable interest rates provided there is a guarantee of repayment. If anyone possesses a legitimate contact or a solid recommendation, please reach me via PM.

So, how exactly are you guaranteeing my money actually comes back to me?

They’re issuing a promissory note for double what was actually borrowed...

Honestly, I'm in the same boat here... definitely interested in this too. 😁

Received. I have been working in the federal civil service on a permanent basis for many years now, and my income is steady and reliable.

I don't get it—how can you not qualify for a bank loan then? 🤔

A loan in Chase. They would approve me if I provided guarantors and co-signers, but I have no desire to drag anyone else into my financial business, and frankly, finding people willing to take on that kind of risk in this economy is nearly impossible.
