I usually grab all my swimwear—specifically tankinis—from C&A. They sell the tops and bottoms separately, so I just mix and match to get the right look. Honestly, it would be nice if they offered more cup sizes for the tops, because I somehow manage to squeeze into pieces that aren't even my actual size. You can find better options over at Anita, but they used to go for like $60 or something back in the day.
Megan Grant20 said:You can find their clothing line at Dick's Sporting Goods up to 3XL. You really have to try them on though, because the sizing runs a bit small, but they usually have plenty of different styles. I shop there myself for bottoms and those calf-length yoga pants, which go up to $27, and the material is actually great. I once picked up a one-piece swimsuit $33 there, and the two-pieces were either $45 or maybe $16 (don't kill me, I can't quite remember 😵). I usually just head to the mall near me, so I'm not sure what the selection is like out East.
Is that like a specific section, or does everything go up to that size?
Honestly, if you’re looking for that perfect compression top that isn't some super intense shapewear, I swear, my go-to is from Target. Though, I don't think they have it in their summer lineup right now—but hey, who knows? It probably depends on which specific store you hit up. It’s got these wider straps, and there's this little stitched detail on the front. Just plain black or white, totally basic... but man, they hold everything in so well, just nice and snug. I seriously can't see myself going back to those regular old cotton ones. No way..
Hey everyone 🙂 It feels like I haven’t posted—or even scrolled through this thing—in forever. Honestly, I wasn't even sure if there was a notification about Oltre launching their online shop. Has anyone actually tried ordering from them yet? Look, they aren't cheap, let's be real, but hey, it's still an option on the table if you're looking...
Man, I haven't been around here in forever... honestly, I'll have to scroll through a ton of posts just to catch up. For now, though, I just wanted to drop in and say I've already added a few larger sizes to the XXL clothing section. 😉
So, what do you think about those standard rain boots, but like, if you lined them with some fuzzy faux-fur socks? Honestly, they wouldn't leak at all, and I've seen some pairs that actually look pretty sick. Obviously, though, don't expect them to save you during a blizzard out in Chicago...
That first link? It’ll handle the wet stuff just fine, though maybe not great on ice 🙂 and look, I’m basically a pro at slipping and sliding, so I only trust those rubberized Jon Boots—they're a total safe bet 🙂 Duo’s got such low-profile shoes that my Amex card practically showed up at my door and dragged me off in a totally random direction 🙂 But man, those last boots are very nice! 😍
Still on maternity leave, so don't tempt me... for now, I'm just here to lurk and read what you guys have to say. That should last until spring, and by then, I'm planning on getting back into a smaller circle myself 🤣
Just wanted to check in and say my blazer and shoes from River Island finally arrived 🙂 They were actually super fast, which caught me totally off guard. Since they just came via standard USPS, I figured it’d take forever, but it was only about ten days or so—including two weekends passing by. I'll post some pics if I can track them down... edit: Found them...
As for those pants, Kioko, I'm definitely not trying them on. I've been spending way too much lately, so I think it's better if I just lay low for a bit 🙂
By the way, today's deals over at Castaluna are just insane 🙂
Honestly, those banners totally hooked me the second I clicked. 🙂 They’re definitely on the pricier side, but you know, if there's a big night out coming up or something, there are some really cute pieces in there that fit just right. 🙂
Honestly, I’m just stoked this thread finally popped off 😍. It would be even better if everyone actually posted pics of their hauls... or hey, doesn't even have to be new stuff, maybe just a quick snap of an outfit before you head out for the night 🙂.
Just letting you guys know that my top—it’s like one of those zip-up sweatshirts from SD—came in a size 20, which actually fits me perfectly 😁. Nimbleheron47, thanks for the tip 😉. If I’d gone with the 22, it would’ve been way too baggy. Usually, when looking at European sizing for tops, I’m a 52. My closet is basically overflowing with Old Navy stuff, so I just use their sizing as my main benchmark to stay sane 😁.
Honestly, man, these sizing charts? Forget about it. Back in the day, like when our moms were young, there used to be this thing called a "standardization book." You could actually measure a nation by it! They had average numbers that worked for everyone. If someone said you were a 44, then you were a 44. Period. But now? You can try everything under the sun and still have no clue if you're actually going to fit. 😁.
Oh, and uh... my leggings arrived too (totally random tangent, I know), but I totally messed up on those. It’s wild how inconsistent everything is. I thought I was being smart by picking a size halfway between the ones from Next that were too small, but these turned out to be huge... 🤷. Seriously, I should probably just open an Etsy shop or something and document all this madness with photos 🙂.
Man, I’ve got this whole pile of stuff just hanging there on the rack—and some shoes too—that I haven't even touched. Mostly just things where I totally botched the sizing... I have this one Marina Rinaldi dress that cost me like a grand, and I think I’ve worn it maybe, what, three times? Max. How do you even put a price tag on stuff like that? Since it actually looks good on me, I guess it's better than letting it rot in the closet... Oh, and I also messed up my shoe size with a couple of pairs from Next. Either their sizing runs tiny or my feet have just decided to expand on me lately. 🤷
Anyway, back to the point 😁 I treated myself to a little blazer and some shoes from River Island 🙂 Then I was browsing Castaluna and found some really solid "basics" in the sale section, though I noticed most of it is La Redoute. There's also plenty of good basic stuff over here (most of it is pretty old-school/dad-core, but you can definitely find gems if you look): http://www.bonmarche.co.uk/
