Maybe some C&A or maybe something from Modanasa... just a basic button-down or a polo, you know? Something oversized—since that’s basically the only thing they make these days—with the 3/4 sleeves..
Lisa Myers said:You can't realistically jump from a 16 to a 12. If those 12s fit you well—or even feel big—you aren't dealing with an eight-size gap. Unless you’re talking about European sizing, where a 52 is actually more like a 16. I wear a 14, and these are the same size I wear for everything else. To be honest, I hate mine. There's way too much "air" around my waist because they stretch out so much, yet I couldn't even button the smaller size when I tried it. I bought the bootcut version in that smaller size once, too, but they don't carry them anymore. They had them when the store first opened, but they're gone now.
What do you guys think? Is there any chance I could charm a sales clerk into "finding" them at another branch? Maybe they're still sitting on a shelf somewhere.
You're totally right, I forgot to mention that all my pants are basically the Italian/Oltre 😉 size 52... And yeah, looking back, I probably should've grabbed one size down, because even mine stretched out a bit after wearing them.
Give the whole transferring from another store a shot; maybe they'll pull some strings for you.
I honestly have zero clue about the moderator situation, haven't heard a peep. As far as bras go, I’m still loyal to Victoria's Secret, at least for me.. And nursing bras, ugh... I really need to dig out the ones from last year and see if they're even wearable. I'm really not feeling like buying anything new right now. Last year I picked up a few while I was pregnant, but by the end, I think I only wore those bigger ones maybe twice—one of them didn't even get worn once.. and now they're probably going to be way too huge for me. Maybe I should just sell them? 😬
Yeah, honestly, I’m not really feeling it either. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's just "old lady fashion," because you hit the nail on the head—it’s just way too baggy and shapeless. It’s kind of a mess, you know? And don't even get me started on H&M here in the States... those bigger locations are just a total letdown.
Man, I seriously miss Oltre so much right now. 😢 I used to know that if I couldn't find anything anywhere else, I could always count on them to have it, you know? But lately—and this is just me guessing, so don't take it as gospel—everything just feels... off. Like, nothing quite hits the mark anymore. Especially when it comes to tees and button-downs...
So, I picked up some jeans at Target, and honestly? I’m kind of obsessed. Usually, I’m rocking a size 14, but these are a 12—and I’ll be real, once they stretch out from wearing them all day, I might even be able to squeeze into a 10. Though, knowing how denim works, once they hit the laundry, they'll probably snap right back to being a 12. Let me dig through my camera roll for a pic. Anyway, they are $67, and I snagged them while they were doing a massive 25% off sale. Long story short: highly recommend! 👍
edit: I can't find the exact link on their site anymore, but they’re super similar to the Sally straight leg ones. Basically, if you’re always struggling because the waist feels "too huge" in other brands, or if you have those long, lean legs and love wearing your jeans a bit low on the hips, these are your holy grail. 😉 http://www.target.com/p/womens-denim-jeans/101558/1
Just jumping in here so I don't clutter things up with a whole new thread—does anyone know how I can actually give a link in my signature a specific "name" instead of just having the raw URL sitting there?
I've been checking out prices, and honestly, even when they're on sale, most stuff still ends up costing more than $53. It's kind of wild. How do you even deal with customs?
Larry Fox12 said:If the cat has had toxoplasmosis for a while now, she’s already gone through it and is immune, so there’s zero risk to the baby. If the cat doesn't have it and hasn't caught it during the pregnancy, then there's no issue at all. The only way it becomes a "problem" is if the cat wasn't infected before but catches it right while the person is pregnant. You can prevent that little hiccup by keeping the cat from roaming around outside to lower the chances of them catching anything.
Dude, you're talking nonsense. Go do some actual research. ☕
Alex Castillo said:I did some searching online. My cats stay indoors all the time in our apartment, and they were vaccinated last year, so they're healthy. Usually, toxoplasmosis affects outdoor cats. I also checked with my doctor, and once I explained the situation, she told me there was nothing to worry about.
To build on that, honestly? You're way more likely to pick up toxoplasmosis from some undercooked steak you're grilling for lunch than from a cat. I mean, obviously, if that meat is contaminated. It's that whole thing where you prep raw meat on one side of the counter, then use those same hands to touch stuff everywhere, or use the same fork for the raw bits and the cooked bits... just messy. Anyway, if your cat isn't out there hunting or eating raw meat, the odds of them having it are super slim. Plus, you can always just get tested to be sure. I spent my entire pregnancy cleaning her litter box without a single worry in the world. Just use gloves, soap, some disinfectant, and plenty of water 😉 And seriously, that same cat absolutely adores the baby and is constantly watching over them 😍
edit: hmm, it won't let me post the link directly. Basically, on the left side it says "pants" and then the pictures show up right after, they're there...
I won't be any different, honestly. It’s wild looking at these numbers, especially when you realize that even if we’re just wearing some "standard" size, there are plenty of us out there, maybe even $17, holding our own quite solidly... Anyway, about pants—something I finally stumbled upon during this pregnancy is maternity leggings and trousers. Man, I really wish I’d looked into this sooner. Basically, if you’ve got a bit of a bump around the waist, they are absolute lifesavers. Take this one pair from Old Navy, for example—they're black, and I kind of think of them as my "office slacks." The only difference from regular pants is that they have this stretchy cotton panel sitting just above the belly button. They are perfect. Like, the bottom part looks totally normal, so nobody can even tell what's going on up top, but the comfort level is just... wow. And most importantly, nothing is digging in, pinching, or spilling over the sides. Of course, you get all kinds of maternity styles—some go all the way up to your chest, haha—but there are definitely lower-rise options too.
Even now that I'm past the pregnancy stage (even though, bless me, the weight actually stayed off!?), I still can't squeeze into my old jeans. I’m still rocking the maternity gear. 😵
I tried checking out C&A too, but honestly, they didn't have anything that actually fit me right... So, what about those shoulder straps over at Macy's? Are they flimsy or actually sturdy? I’ve got this feeling I’m gonna be missing at least 5cm of coverage myself. 😁 Right now, the only size that works for me is at Anita. But man, those prices are insane... totally ridiculous! I already paid double for two of them before. $267 🙄
