Hey there!

I noticed it’s been about six months since you first started this thread. I was wondering if you could give us an update on how everything turned out for you. Did you end up going through with the surgery? And if you did, how would you say it went?
Andrew Martin47 said:I've been coughing non-stop for a month now and my lungs actually feel like they're burning. My mom won't even take me to see a doctor; she just keeps telling me I'm being a hypochondriac. What should I do? I can't tell if it's an allergy or something else entirely.

Andrew Martin47, I’m right there with you. I dealt with a bad cold about two months ago, and the cough came along with it, obviously. Once the cold finally cleared up, this dry cough just stuck around, and it hasn't left me since.

I honestly can't tell if I'm fighting off a bacterial infection, some kind of allergy—pollen, dust, mold?—or something else altogether. I know things calmed down a bit when my doctor put me on antibiotics, but over the last week, it's started acting up again... 🤷

People have actually been dropping tips on how to boost your results, too. Here’s one I spotted:

Take a deep breath before you hit start, then let it out slowly. (Just don't be smoking weed while you're doing the breathing exercises).

Who’s to blame if I decided to stay in tonight instead of heading out? Now I’m stuck here with nothing better to do...

Let's put those claims to the test and see what we actually find; hopefully, we can round up enough people from that left-wing intelligence study to get a decent sample size.
Here is a test to measure your reaction time. Post your results along with your orientation (spatial, not gender-based 😬). I'll kick things off:

right index finger - 176.6 ms

P.S. I ran this six times to get that average.

Look, lefties definitely have a leg up in certain sports—I'll give you that. But that advantage mostly shows up in combat sports or stuff like that, where being the opposite of what someone expects doesn't necessarily mean you're reacting faster—it's more about throwing the opponent off balance and making them hesitate.

In other sports, there isn't much of a difference, and honestly, in some cases, lefties might even be at a slight disadvantage—partly because finding gear that actually fits is such a pain. 😁

Here is the link. I actually first stumbled upon this through an article by Kelly Baggett. Obviously, we're talking about averages here. It's not like every single lefty is going to outpace every single righty out there.

As for that advantage from having an opposite orientation, I agree (though lefties have their own issues too—mainly running into other lefties).

BTW, in Springfield, Ned Flanders used to run a shop where he even sold nunchucks specifically designed for lefties.

Leftists might actually have an edge when it comes to athletics. The logic is pretty simple: on average they tend to possess faster reaction times than what we see today. Of course, I’m specifically talking about sports where those split-second reflexes make all the difference.

Hi there, I’ve been wondering about this too...
I also heard there are different types of hyaluronic acid injections available, some with higher concentrations than others. Is it actually worth shelling out the extra cash for those "stronger" versions?
