If you dig through some of the older threads, you can actually find one that I started last year about this exact same nightmare....
I didn't realize 100% that we were dealing with bed bugs back then—last year I just couldn't get rid of them, even using those spray insecticides or one of those hand sprayers filled with Benzyl benzoate that I used to douse the bed... eventually, I just gave up and replaced the whole bed and the mattresses....
And everything was fine until the weather warmed up again this year... now, it's happening all over again... honestly, I can't even begin to tell you how pissed off I am, because if this keeps up, I could be dealing with this crap all the way until autumn...
WHAT CAN I USE TO KILL THEM? HOW DO I WIPE OUT THIS DISGUSTING SWARM THAT'S BITE-BITING ME ALL NIGHT?!?!?!?!😠 😠
I’ve been soaking my ear swab in oil and just dabbing it in as far as I can reach... it’s honestly not the most pleasant sensation—and I’m sitting here wondering if it would even make sense to just aim it straight up my nose instead...
I’m having a hard time deciding if this makes me feel better or worse, since we're talking about the mucous membrane here and not cartilage like I originally thought... I wasn't exactly thrilled about the idea of surgery, but it feels like I could solve this whole mess in one fell swoop... though, realistically, things probably won't go that fast or be that simple, right?
Harold Turner2 So, I keep hearing everyone talk about St. John's Wort oil—like, seriously, it’s all anyone seems to mention lately—but I’m curious, how did you actually end up using it? Like, what was your routine? And more importantly, how long did you stick with it before you noticed anything at all? I feel like I’m constantly tripping over people recommending it, but nobody ever gives me the actual play-by-play on the timing. Look, if you’re going to lean on natural remedies, you really have to be prepared to play the long game... honestly, you need a massive amount of patience—like, way more than most people actually have. It’s not like popping an Advil or grabbing some Sudafed and feeling better in twenty minutes flat. With the natural stuff, it’s more of a slow burn—you’re basically waiting for your body to catch up and realize what’s happening. It can be super frustrating when you're just looking for a quick fix, but if you aren't willing to sit tight and let things work their way through your system, you're probably gonna end up disappointed. Just gotta settle in and wait it out. I guess I’ll just keep this going at least until I get my nasal lining checked out by the specialist...
I mean, I honestly don't even know what there is left to check at this point—like, seriously—if he’s already seen that my assistant is basically in a coma... So, they’re saying that during the exam, they'll be able to pinpoint exactly which part of the nasal passage is causing all that congestion... basically getting a clear look at where the blockage is actually sitting.
So, I swung by the Otolaryngologist this morning for a checkup, and the latest news is that my septum isn't actually crooked enough to require surgery or anything... But apparently, my nasal lining is super swollen?!? So now he’s sending me for some more testing just to pinpoint exactly where the blockage is coming from... He asked if I had any allergies, and honestly, I figured I couldn't because I've been dealing with this basically all year long—well, except for during the summer when I'm out at the beach rinsing my nose in the ocean almost every single day...
Now, once I use some drops and my nose finally clears up, I start applying some St. John's Wort oil inside my nostrils as far as I can reach... It feels like that helps keep things clear for a bit longer... I just need to stick with this routine for a few weeks to see if it actually makes a difference...
hmm... I usually cap it at twice a day... at most...
Honestly, I'd rather deal with some herbal drops seventeen times a day than have to use Sudafed even once... I just need stuff that actually clears things out...
The absolute worst part is when I go to blow my nose and everything just slams shut— like, the pressure from blowing gets so intense that it spikes my sinus pressure and then my head starts throbbing too...
I think I'll give the marshmallow root a shot and see how it goes...
I’m in the exact same boat... I mean, I’m basically reaching for my nasal spray about 6 out of every 7 days just to feel like I can actually breathe... things aren't quite as brutal in the summer because whenever I hit the beach and go for a swim, the salt water helps clear out my sinuses a bit...
I know what you mean about the ocean water—honestly, it doesn't do much for me when it comes to actually opening things up, but the pharmacist mentioned that specific supplement (it was dex-something, I can't quite recall the name) is supposed to help protect the mucous membranes...
My mom swears by St. John's Wort oil, so I’ve been dabbling in that a little bit too...
I'm honestly pretty pumped to just get the surgery over with, but like I said, I'm looking at waiting at least another year or so 😢
How many times a day are you using the drops??
And what's the deal with those marshmallow root drops?? Do they cause congestion? I'm always down for the natural route if there's an option...
So, I just got back from the pharmacy, and they were telling me that Benyl is actually much gentler on your nasal lining compared to Sudafed. They also mentioned there are some serious limits on how often you should use Ephedrine. The only real recommendation they gave me was to use Benyl at 0.5%, paired up with a saline spray and some kind of dex-something additive... It’s this spray called "Mar," and apparently, it’s the only one that has that dex**** stuff which coats the lining with some kind of protective layer...
@Alex Collins26—13 years!!! Have you actually had a specialist look at your nasal lining yet?? Is it even possible to get a proper exam to figure out if there’s actual damage to the mucosa??
Look, I’m not even saying there’s an issue with how well the Sudafed works... or Benadryl or anything else you throw at it... like any nasal spray... what actually keeps me up at night is the thought of using the same stuff for way too long...
That’s wild... honestly, I’ve been hitting the Sudafed like it’s my job lately...
I mean, I try to hold off on the nasal sprays until it gets to that point where you literally feel like oxygen can't even squeeze through your nose anymore—you know that feeling? I’m really trying my best to cut back on them, but man, breathing through my mouth just kills me....
I’ve been attempting to soothe the lining with some St. John’s Wort oil (my mom is totally into that herbalist stuff, she's basically an amateur pro at it), but I still think I should ask for some advice on which sprays are actually worth using...
Also, how am I supposed to tell which ones are actually decongestants?? Like, what's the deal with Benyl? It helped a ton before, but I heard somewhere that you shouldn't be using it for too long??
So, I’ve got this deviated septum hitting me on both sides, which basically means my airways are constantly slammed shut—I'm practically forced to rely on nasal sprays pretty much every single day (especially since the weather turned cold and everything went south). I’m actually planning on getting surgery, but it won't be happening for at least another year—I have to get my tonsils ripped out first because they are driving me absolutely insane
The big question is: how bad is it to use these nasal drops all the time? Is there a specific type that's less harsh? And what exactly is the damage we're talking about when it comes to the side effects (I’ve heard rumors they totally wreck your mucous membranes)? Also, is there any way to offset that damage or at least take the edge off while I'm using them, since I honestly can't live without them right now??
I honestly can't even remember the specifics of that presentation—mostly because, thank God, my eyesight is actually decent—so I’m not exactly sure how much actual "training" goes into it. But yeah, basically, you get the glasses and then you practice reading at all sorts of different distances, which essentially works out like building up some kind of muscle that stretches and tightens your eye's natural focus...
Anyway, best of luck man, I really hope it works out for you 👍 👍 👍
So, my boss was giving this big presentation to the whole team today right after he finished his treatment with this specialist... and man, if I remember right, his prescription was like a 5 or 6 in both eyes... plus, he was rocking these thick glasses that looked like the bottom of a soda bottle. Now? He’s just walking around squinting at his monitor, totally naked-eyed—no glasses, no contacts, nothing. He keeps swearing up and down that the procedure actually worked, but honestly, it looks like he's just bluffing through the blur. The only real catch is that you aren't allowed to wear any corrective lenses while the treatment is actually happening—so if you have a really high prescription, you basically have to go around playing the blind man for about a month until your vision finally resets.
It’s not really about the weed being the root cause... there’s just this specific group of people out there with underlying mental health struggles who absolutely should stay far away from smoking... for some folks, it just hits them—they start feeling off, and things really begin to spiral, kind of like what Brian Ramos8 was saying earlier...
The truth is, those issues are already sitting there under the surface long before someone even lights up; the marijuana just acts like a spotlight, dragging everything out into the open and making it way more intense... Once you notice those red flags, you’ve gotta stop immediately—and I mean permanently.
So, you don't even have any decent DivX files? Man, you're really missing out on the good stuff... maybe you should track down some high-quality rips just to see what I'm talking about. You might actually dig them once you see them...
Another thing though—just basic manners, really—if I'm calling you by your handle, Nicholas Sullivan49, the least you can do is use mine too...
Man, you’re totally overthinking this, Nicholas Sullivan49... If your setup can handle a DVD, it can definitely handle a DivX file—no need for some massive, overpriced hardware upgrade or any other nonsense. Instead of obsessing over a pristine physical disc, just grab a decent high-def player and call it a day. Honestly, the picture quality and the sound? They're basically identical for what it's worth...
And look, let's not start comparing apples to oranges here by acting like watching a movie at the AMC Theater is the same thing as watching one in your living room. It's the same deal with physical DVDs versus digital files; you can't compare sitting in a premium cinema setup at home to being in a massive theater, and nobody who actually likes digital formats is out here claiming they've got the exact same vibe as a Hollywood screening...
The real question we're talking about is this: when you're chilling at home using the gear you already own, does it actually matter if you're playing a DVD or a DivX file?... If anyone can actually prove to me that one is "real" and the other is total garbage, I’ll personally buy everyone at the next tailgate party a 12-inch sub...
Nicholas Sullivan49 said:Look, I'm standing with Vajta on this one—for me, video rental stores and actual movie theaters are the only things that matter. Everything else is just noise. If someone wants to sit around watching low-res files on a computer, honestly, go for it, it doesn't affect my life... everyone’s just going to dig their heels in and find reasons to defend their way of watching or attack the other side, but nobody is actually changing their mind or stopping their habits, so all these arguments we have here? They're totally pointless!!!!!!🙂 🙂
Man, you hit on five different points there... but please, don't try to convince me that DivX is somehow "good." Objectively speaking, the quality is trash compared to even a standard DVD... it reminds me of that old joke:
A wife walks into the bedroom and catches her husband in bed with the neighbor, and he looks at her and asks: "Honey, do you trust me, or do you trust your own eyes??"
So, Nicholas Sullivan49 and Vajta... I'm definitely going with my eyes (which, by the way, are 20/20, as they say here in the States)😁 😁
And you better make sure those greasy sliders come with plenty of onions... seriously, don't forget the extra grease and the onions!!!!
Also, it’d be pretty cool if you actually tried to tackle one of my actual points instead of just constantly whining about how "it's too cheap" or whatever...
Look, please forgive me for having my own weird, twisted idea about what would make for a perfect vibe... I was totally off base. Please, just point me in the right direction and get me back on track...
