Who's going to do the dirty work in Utopia? in Philosophy ·
Sam Martinez9 said:Women.

It’s the same pattern we've seen throughout history. Women handle the cooking, change the diapers, care for aging parents, tend the garden, clean out the barns, scrub the toilets... and the list goes on.

Hmm... I think it really depends on how she carries herself with her husband. If she's acting like everything is her responsibility, then she's basically screwed.

What do you mean by that?

It’s honestly a bit sad when women feel the need to chime in on comments like these.

Hi,
I’ve been wrestling with this one for quite a while now.

What defines a "bitch"?
Why is it considered such a negative trait when a woman refuses to be walked all over and simply speaks her mind about what bothers her?
Apparently, wanting the best for yourself is "bad" because you're supposed to just settle for whatever comes your way.
I’m single and don't have kids, and people in my town love to rub it in my face, acting like I'm somehow "above everyone else" just because I haven't tied myself down yet. They act like choice is an illusion. My response? I don't care about anyone else's business, and I certainly don't live my life according to their rules. I'll marry when I find the right person. I definitely won't settle for someone I don't actually like. To be honest, I also know deep down that I don't have much to offer right now—people have really hammered that idea into my head—but I refuse to look for a partner until I have my career and my own stability figured out.
How do I move past this constant belittling?
How do you all define a "bitch"?

Even my brother called me one, but honestly, he isn't exactly the gold standard for relationship advice given his own track record, so I won't bother addressing his specific opinion.

Do we really live in a society where women who aren't married are viewed as "lesser," giving everyone the right to shame them? Do we truly have no agency in our own lives?

The age-old question.
When it comes to social anxiety, I think I'm the one who fits the description.
If I lived closer, I’d definitely be there.
She really is just so...
I don't trust anyone anymore... in Psychology ·
Personally, I don't trust people anymore either. It’s been incredibly disappointing.

However, there is one solid conclusion I can draw from my own experiences regarding all of this.
People act fake, mostly because they are afraid. I've realized that being authentic just isn't always the easiest path.
I have always tried to be honest; I never wanted to be just another face in the crowd following the herd.

That said, trying to claim a moral victory based on your honesty isn't always the best strategy.
People lack empathy for it; everyone seems to think they are playing God.

I'm nearly 30 years old, and I still struggle to come to terms with it.
You should stay true to yourself, sure, but how do you find that perfect balance where you aren't hurting anyone?

Whether it's in your career, your love life, or your friendships...
I dealt with this specifically at work, mostly because I was surrounded by idiots.
There are people who think they have the right to say whatever they want to you, but then they shut down when you try to address the issue. Look, if I'm not your cup of tea, don't get so close to me—nobody is forcing you.

We all have the right to choose, but in my case, it felt like I didn't.
So, it would have been better to just stay quiet rather than voicing my HONEST opinions.

And that is why people are the way they are....

I don't trust anyone, either. But I've learned that it's often easier to play the part (since those people tend to get by better) than to be truthful. People don't actually like honest people, no matter how much they claim to value it.
Which insurance provider should I go with? in Economy ·
Hi everyone,
I have a few questions regarding which auto insurance provider I should go with. Which companies are offering the best perks and coverage in this current economy?

Thanks for your help.
