Anyone still running Windows 7? in Software ·
I really need some help here before I lose my mind... whenever I try to delete a file from Program Files or even just something off my desktop, I constantly get hit with permission errors saying I don't have authorization (even though I'm logged in as an administrator). Other times, it tells me the file is currently being used by another program. Does anyone know a way to actually have "authority" over these folders so I can just delete things? I'm tired of messing around with individual folder security settings every single time I want to clear out a movie or an old album😠?

Man, oh man... 🤣 just thinking about how much junk wouldn't run on XP back in the day. It was a mess. People were clinging to Millennium Edition just so they could play their favorite games without everything crashing. 😂

It feels like we're seeing history repeat itself with Windows 7, though I’d say the scale of the problem is about ten times smaller this time around.

I have to give Windows 7 a huge thumbs up for that. 👍

I remember those days, but honestly, XP eventually spoiled us all (after a few broken keyboards along the way)... Personally, I think Windows 7 is awesome because it actually utilizes my quad-core processor, and it seems way more stable than XP was. Of course, I just finished installing it, so I probably need to run it for at least six months before I can confidently say it's truly rock-solid. My only real gripe is the Start menu; I miss the old layout where you could go to "Games" and click that little arrow to expand everything. It felt a lot more organized. But aside from that minor annoyance, I'm pretty happy with it.

So, I've been running Windows 7 Ultimate edition for a bit now, and after shaking out some initial hiccups, everything is working pretty smoothly. My main advice? Just turn off UAC and those other annoying pop-ups that drive you absolutely crazy. The only real catch is that whenever I go to install something new, I have to double-check if it’s actually compatible with Win7. Back when I was using XP, you never really had to worry about that kind of thing.

One huge advantage of Win7 is that you don't even have to hunt for drivers—at least, I haven't had to install any myself. The system just goes ahead and finds the latest versions automatically for you.
So, about two months ago, I managed to break both bones in my left lower leg—classic soccer accident, right? It happened pretty late in the day, so they didn't get me into surgery until the following morning. They ended up installing a plate and seven screws to hold everything together. I finally got my cast off four days ago, but my doctor is still insisting that I stick to crutches for now. The real issue, though, isn't the injury itself—it's the healthcare system here. Every time I go into the outpatient clinic to ask a simple question, the staff treats me like I’m some kind of criminal. They are incredibly rude and totally unapproachable, which just makes an already frustrating situation so much worse. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of attitude at a clinic? Also, I have a couple of medical questions: do those screws eventually get removed, and once everything heals, is it actually possible to get back to playing soccer or returning to a normal level of physical activity?
I'd really appreciate any advice you guys can give me.

They had a handful of classic tracks that really hit home for me—stuff like Freak on a Leash, Fallin' Away from Me, and Blind—but they just aren't what they used to be. It’s changed. Between them going totally mainstream and that whole New Breed generation just fizzling out, the magic is gone. It’s the same pattern we saw when the hippies, the ravers, and the grunge kids all eventually drifted away.
